SWTOR 5.10.3 Changes Overview and Patch Notes

BioWare released today the full official patch notes for the upcoming game update 5.10.3 “The Dantooine Incursion” for Star Wars: The Old Republic!

The patch notes arrive a few hours ahead of the scheduled three hours maintenance. The game servers will go down at 13:00 GMT and are expected to come back up around 16:00 GMT on June 4th, 2019.

The most important part of this update is the new recurring event “The Pirate Incursion“. It is located on Dantooine – a classic Star Wars planet, which makes it debut in SWTOR after being only briefly mentioned previously.

The event will run for two weeks (two weekly events back to back) starting June 4th. There are a lot of new missions and mini stories to complete on Dantooine. A large number of lore objects and a few funny secret achievements should keep you busy for these first two weeks.

You will still have access to Dantooine outside of the event weeks, but most of the missions and activities will be locked. The reputation vendors will be happy to welcome you any time and take your special currency and credits!

After the second week ends, the event will fall back in line with the rest of the recurring events and start appearing on monthly basis for one week at a time.

To start the Dantooine event you can find a holonews terminal on the Fleet. It will give you a quest leading to Dantooine. After a short cinematic, you will be given the task to go to the nearby Mission Terminal and start picking up the Daily Missions. If you are low level or have not completed the Ossus Storyline yet, you will see a shorter and more generic cinematic from that intro mission.

Note: I have a guide coming up with all missions, achievements and rewards. Unfortunately the insane lag and logging issues on my server may result in a delay of the guide’s publication with a few days until the Weekend. I cleared a whole evening for June 4th, so I’d be able to run the event live and finish, change, add what is needed if anything was different or new compared to the PTS version, but the servers just couldn’t handle the interest, I guess. :)))

The Nar Shaddaa Nightlife (online casino gambling simulator) returns later this month. The event is scheduled to start on 18th and will run until the end of July.

BioWare sneaked an interesting surprise into this update. The patch notes only briefly mention the “New Planetary Transitions”. Apparently many of the old planets have had their arrival and departure animations improved or perhaps completely changed. We will learn more tomorrow when the update goes live.

A few bugs and issues have been fixed for some classes, namely the Stalwart Defense utility for the Guardians (no longer granting unintended damage reduction). And if you have been wondering if some of your companions are not working as fast as they should, you would be happy to hear that the issue related to their time efficiency is now fixed and the time/crit rate should now be back to normal.

This little not-so-cute guy will be waiting for you on Dantooine and will gladly become your newest companion. because, you know, the more the better… err. | image: swtor.com

On the PvP front BioWare managed to address the issue where players were able to use Phase Walk to capture points from longer distances than intended while participating in a Warzone scenario.

The full patch notes are available below and you can take a look to see what additional fixes and improvements have been made on top of these I already presented above. The Dantooine Incursion could be the last large update before Onslaught. BioWare is already gaining speed with the work on the games’ newest Expansion. Onslaught comes some time in September and we will be able to start testing different parts of it (not the story, of course) later this month. First up in the line for PTS is the Spoils of War system, which is a brand new gearing system, developed for 6.0.
