This guide will show you how to start and successfully complete the Bonus Series Missions on Hoth, which BioWare made Repeatable and tied to Conquest Objectives with the release of SWTOR Game Update 6.1.1. The stories are different for Empire and Republic, so this guide is split into two segments, of course. Enjoy!
The Bonus Series Missions on Hoth are not too long and are designed for the level 40+ players. The average duration for this storyline is 20 to 30 minutes.
Originally these were designed to be available, as the name suggests, in the form of bonus content on the planet and offer a narrative, unique to the faction as well as some Heroics and exploration side missions. This guide shows you how to pick up and complete the main storyline along with the spawning from it other missions. The side quests and Heroics are there for you to pick up along the way as you do the main mission in the same region and camps/outposts.
Game Update 6.1.1, released in April 2020, turned the Bonus Series Missions to Daily Repeatable and attached them to the Conquest system as Objectives.
You can complete the main Bonus Series Mission once on one character and it will be locked out for the rest of the week, but you can bring another character through on the next day to get the daily Conquest Objective points.
All other missions described in this guide are available as Dailies. Only the main starter mission is a Weekly.
HOTH BONUS SERIES FOR REPUBLIC PLAYERS
To start the chain visit General Ilic Nadab at the Command Bunker in Aurek Base on Hoth. You can select the appropriate objective from the Conquest tab, which will tell you to do the same.
He will give you the starter mission for the Bonus Series. It’s called “Savage Attack“.
“General Ilic Nadab informed you that an unidentified threat has been butchering Republic troops in the Clabburn Tundra. He has asked you to discover who or what is behind these attacks and put a stop to it.”
Ilic Nadab sends you to Captain Armaruk, who is located at the Drift Hills Republic Depot in the Clabburn Rundra. He will give you the mission “The Lost Patrol“.
For this one you need to recover combat sensor data. The location is marked on your map. Once you get there, click on the Republic Recon Squad Corpse to recover the data.
When finished, return to Captain Armaruk to complete the mission.
Next go to Padawan Elsor, who is in the Jagged Plains Republic Outpost in the same region. It’s to the south and slightly east from your current location.
The Padawan will send you to nearby building to speak with Farren Dulz. He will give you the next mission, called “Cutting Our Losses“.
The objective for this one is to plant four explosives.
Defeating 20 Bala D’ur while in the area will complete the bonus mission “Sleeping Madness”. It grants only XP, but worth the time for leveling characters.
Once finished, return to Darren Dulz. He will send you back to Padawan Elsor, who will grant you the next mission – “The Beast Lord“.
The task here is simple – defeat the Beast Lord Brutann (Elite NPC). The entrance to the cave where you will find it is at the very southern edge of the map, south-east from the Jagged Plains Republic Outpost.
The bonus mission “Predatory Creatures” opens up once you kill a Force-Dominated Creature in the area. Defeat 20 of them to complete it and get the extra XP reward.
When done, go back to Padawan Elso to tell him that his master did not die for nothing.
After that, return back to General Ilic Nadab to complete the Bonus Series on Hoth for the Republic.
HOTH BONUS SERIES FOR EMPIRE PLAYERS
As an Empire player you should first speak to Captain Graich at Dorn Base Command Center on Hoth. He will start the chain for you with the main mission “Regenge of the Bane Brigade“. You can also click on the Conquest tab’s appropriate objective that will send you to the same NPC.
“You spoke to Captain Graich at Dorn Base, who introduced you to Khun Tazith, an advisor to the Minister of War. Khun has expressed a desire to speak privately with you about a “special project”.
Go to the Command Center at Drift Hills Imperial Outpost in the Clabburn Tundra. Khun is on your right, near a holo terminal.
After the conversation you need to go to Sarria Jevad, who will give you the “First in Flight” mission. Saria is located further ahead in the Command Center bunker.
Your objective now is to destroy a snowspeeder. It’s located in the Drift Hills Republic Hangar, north-west from your current location.
There are enemy NPCs both outside and inside the hangar. Click on the flashing segment on the side of the speeder to blog it up and go back to Sarria.
Sarria will forward you next to G0-S5 for the “A Mysterious Enemy” mission. The droid is inside the Command Center, just north from Sarria’s position.
It tells to to investigate the Fallen Imperial Platoon. At the marked location you need to click on a small datapad, on the snowy ground.
This will update your objective and now you have to destroy ten Republic Spy Droids. The location not far away, just north-west from where you found the datapad. Any droid in that area will count, regardless of the exact name/type of the NPC.
When you are done, you should go speak to Lieutenant Durand. He is at the Jagged Plains Imperial Garrison camp in Clabburn Tundra.
From there the main mission spawns another new mission called “Open Season“. Talk to Kinto Symms to start it. He’s just outside the building, at Garrison.
Kinto asks you to defeat four Savage Whitefang Alphas. They are Strong (silver) animals and you can find them south from the camp near the eastern border of Clabburn Tundra.
After you are done, go back to report to Kinto. He will then send you back to Captain Graich to complete the main mission and with that – finish the Bonus Series for the Empire Faction on Hoth.
REWARDS
At the moment the rewards from these missions are nothing special. They are worthy repeating if you struggle for XP while leveling or for Conquest, but I don’t see how this would be a fact with all of the solo and group content available elsewhere.
The daily missions grant XP, Renown, Credits and some times a random Gear item. The main mission rewards you a Locked Supply Crate of your choosing.
