BioWare announced that SWTOR Game Update 6.1.2 and All Words Ultimate Swoop Rally event will launch a week apart with the patch coming first on 24th of June
Yesterday the official SWTOR site announced the Ranked PvP Season 12 rewards. Along with that they teased “a few weeks” left until the season ends. The season ends with the release of Patch 6.1.2.
Why does the title say release dates? The next game update to Star Wars The Old Republic – patch 6.1.2 – is set to arrive at the end of June. The release date is set to Wednesday June 24. The new Swoop Rally event will not launch with the update. It will arrive on June 30th.
This next update to the game will deliver no story continuation. As per BioWare’s new patch naming plans any update in the form of 6.X.X will be incremental and only the major 6.X updates will deliver new stories and big new features.
On top of that 6.2 is still hanging in the air with unclear plans for when it might happen. Voiceover recordings need to be made for any story segments SWTOR releases.
For the next story update we might have to wait a bit longer as the world is still in “social distancing” mode and “stay in home” is more often heard on the TV than anything else.
6.1.2 does promise a good show, though! The All Worlds Swoop Rally event launches on June 30th.
The event was supposed to release with the patch, but as the latter one is set to drop on a Wednesday and the event is related to a Conquest with the same name, BioWare decided to push it back to the Tuesday of the following week.
What is the Swoop Rally Event?
In the growing shadow of war, swoop fans across the galaxy descend on Dantooine, Tatooine, and even Onderon for the sport’s biggest spectacle—The All Worlds Ultimate Swoop Rally! They’re packing the stands, eager to take their minds off their troubles and cheer their favorite swoop gangs. The bikers are here to take on dangerous challenge courses, show off their piloting skills, and flaunt their souped-up swoop bikes. The thunder of the engines, the deafening applause from the fans, the wind battering their helmets… there’s no bigger rush for these thrill seekers.
Despite their reputation as wild rebels whose makeshift courses disregard local districting restrictions, swoop gangs aren’t a serious threat to anyone–something all true swoop fans know! They just love adrenaline-pounding speed, sweet jumps, and big explosions, and the All Worlds Ultimate Swoop Rally combines all three in one crowd-pleasing package. The biggest gangs on the circuit — Horizon’s Razor, the Pit Screamers, and the Blatant Beks — are ready to show their fans a great time.
The gangs are always looking for new enthusiasts to join their ranks, and there’s no better time to see if you’ve got what it takes. Each gang is impressed by different aspects of swoop biking: Horizon’s Razors love speed, the Pit Screamers can’t get enough of big jumps and smooth piloting, and the Blatant Beks just want to see things blow up (from a totally safe distance, of course).
Each gang has a repeatable Daily Mission for the courses on Dantooine, Tatooine, and Onderon. When you accept a swoop Mission, you’ll hop on one of the gangs’ special bikes and use its abilities and lightning-fast speed to take on challenges suited to each gang’s tastes. That’s not all, though; each planet features its own dangerous hazard, turning up the challenge on the courses. Hit all the course objectives, and the crowd’s going to love you!
Outside these repeatable challenge courses, you’ll unlock three story Missions for each gang as you progress through their reputation tracks. The more they trust you, the more you’ll become part of the inner circle, learning more about each gang, their history, and some of their highest-profile members. These short, but fun, interludes highlight your induction into the thrilling world of swoop.
And that’s not all! You’ll also find bonus Missions and plenty of achievements to hunt during the event. Starting at level 20, you’ll be able to participate in the All Worlds Ultimate Swoop Rally. Level up to gain access to Onderon, and every swoop mission will be available to you!

This event will bring three new separate factions. Each one of the gangs will offer you different challenges on the same tracks on the three planets the event takes place. Each faction offers different rewards.
The rewards will vary from outfits to mounts (in two editions each), mini pets, titles and more.
If you head over to read the official article on swtor you might notice that it states the following:
“The All Worlds Ultimate Swoop Rally will be available with Game Update 6.1.2 on June 24th!”
SWTOR community coordinator Daniel Steed later provided an update on the game forums that this is wrong. While the patch is set to go live on 24th, the event will launch, as I told you above, on 30th.
To me personally this Wednesday 24th of June release date is a bit strange. I would not be surprised if the studio decide to push it back to give the devs more time to fix last minute issues and bugs and bundle the 6.1.2 and the event together for a June 30th release.
There has been no confirmation yet, but the Master Mode of the Dxun Operation The Nature of Progress is also expected to be part of Update 6.1.2.
The operation was extensively tested in the last couple of months on the SWTOR Public Test Server.
Another small UI feature is most likely also going to make an appearance with this patch, but I have not heard an official confirmation for that wither. A new window will meet you when you log in to the game and show you three personalized to your character activities. I previewed the new UI element on PTS when it appeared for the first time.
This new window serves no other purpose in my opinion than to shove in your eyes the active Cartel Market promotion, but let’s give it a chance and see how it goes.
As usual, you can expect a number of bug and exploit fixes as well as some quality of life improvements – these are a classic addition to every patch.
Meanwhile if you are still not fed up with the Double XP, use the last few remaining days to grind as many experience points as possible. The event ends on June 16th as previously announced in the SWTOR June 2020 Events post.
