Complete guide to the SWTOR PvP Seasons system, revamped with Update 7.2 – what is it, how to access it, what types of rewards you earn!
The guide is up-to-date for Patch 7.6
BioWare completely redesigned the PvP Season with Game Update 7.2 released in December 2022. Since Ranked PvP is no more, everyone queueing for Warzones or Arenas will have access to PvP Season rewards by completing objectives.
This guide will explain the basics of the PvP Seasons, show you how the system works, what you need to do to earn rewards, what the rewards are, and much more.

What is a PvP Season in SWTOR
PvP Seasons is a level-based, seasonal, in-game system in SWTOR. You can actively earn unique and exclusive rewards by completing specific Objectives called PvP Season Objectives. If you are a Subscriber, you will be able to progress through the PvP season faster.
Just like Galactic Seasons, this system doesn’t offer new content but rather rewards you with cosmetics for participating in existing PvP content. Structurally, PvP Seasons are extremely similar to Galactic Seasons, but they are numerically different.
The most immediately noticeable difference is that there are only 30 levels as opposed to 100, but the points required to earn the next reward are given at a different scale. Points earned to level up function a lot more like XP where PvP Season Objectives each 100 points instead of 8-12 as Weekly Objectives for Galactic Seasons do.
Since PvP Seasons are smaller in scope, there are fewer types of rewards offered compared to Galactic Seasons:
- PvP Seasons Tokens (analogous to Galactic Seasons Tokens)
- Armor Sets
- Stronghold Trophy Decorations
- Titles
- Other odds and ends
The catch-up mechanic is also different. You can only buy the first 20 levels and only with credits, not Cartel Coins. The catch-up mechanic is only available after enough time has elapsed in the season that it would be difficult or impossible to complete the current season before it ends.
PvP Seasons last 16 weeks and are synchronized to begin as part of each major update (7.5, 7.6, 7.7, etc.), whereas Galactic Seasons last 20 weeks and begin with every minor update (7.5.1, 7.6.1, 7.7.1, etc.).
Aside from hotfixes, SWTOR runs on a quarterly update schedule, alternating between major and minor updates, so a new PvP Season will be released roughly every 6 months, and we’ll average 2 per year. As a result, there will usually be a bit of overlap when both seasons are active after each update is released.
How the PvP Seasons system works
The entire PvP Seasons system is Legacy-wide, including the levels you progress through and the rewards you earn.
PvP Seasons will work for you even if you don’t pay attention to the current objectives. If you complete an objective without even knowing about it, you will still gain the benefit of doing so. In this regard, it is similar to the Galactic Conquest system.
How to access PvP Seasons
Both Subscribers and Free-to-play players have access to the PvP Seasons system in SWTOR. To see your progress, open up the Rewards window and navigate to the third tab at the top.
Alternatively, you can access it through the Welcome Window dropdown menu that appears when you log in to a character. Learn more about the Welcome Window in the complete SWTOR User Interface guide.
PvP Seasons Window Overview
The PvP Seasons Window consists of two major areas. At the top, you will see the name of the current PvP Season. The lower section lists your progression and items earned/claimed during the season.
Season Title and Weekly Progress Tracker
The first season, as shown in the example image, is called “Cartel Combat Championship”. Next to that, you will see your current progress on Weekly objectives.
The PvP Seasons system is structured around levels you earn as you gain PvP Points for doing well in Warzones and Arenas and completing the designated “Season Objectives” (more on this later). Every level will give you a reward. These levels are separate from your character’s levels.
Rewards and Objectives Tabs
The area further below in the PvP Season tab shows your current progress through the season’s levels. At the top, you see your current level progression. Below it, are buttons that allow you to claim rewards or spend in-game credits to unlock levels instead of completing them by doing PvP, though you can only catch up after enough time has passed in the season.
Slightly above this, you’ll see two tabs, one for Rewards, and one for Objectives where you can see how to earn PvP Season Points to increase your level for the PvP Season.
Once you gain up a level, a button will appear under the reward icon that says “Claim”. Then, the reward will be placed into the inventory of your current character.
The rewards available in each PvP Season Rewards Track are exclusive to that Season. You get the armor sets for free instead of having to spend the PvP Seasons Tokens to get them, and they often have a slightly different appearance, like different colored undyable bits and VFX.
How to progress through the reward track
You progress through the reward track by earning PvP Points, which are mostly awarded for doing well in Warzones and Arenas, as well as from completing the weekly PvP Season Objectives. In this way, PvP Points act closer to XP from leveling than the Galactic Season Points from completing objectives.
Here is a table that illustrates exactly how many PvP points you earn based on your performance and the outcome of the match:
Activity | WZ Win | WZ Loss | Arena Win | Arena Loss |
---|---|---|---|---|
7 or more medals | 24 | 8 | 12 | 4 |
6 medals | 21 | 7 | 10 | 3 |
5 medals | 18 | 6 | 8 | 3 |
4 medals | 15 | 5 | 6 | 2 |
3 medals | 12 | 4 | 4 | 2 |
2 medals | 8 | 3 | 3 | 1 |
1 medals | 4 | 2 | 2 | 1 |
0 medals | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
You get 1 PvP Point per medal earned in a Warzone (up to 7) and 1 point for every 2 medals earned in Arenas (still up to 7). These points are tripled if you win. If you’re in a group, you can get an additional 2 PvP Points for each Warzone or 1 for each Arena, though you have to get at least 6 medals to receive this bonus.
For example, if you’re playing a Warzone match alone, lose, and get 6 medals, you’d get 6 PvP Points. As another example, if you were playing an Arena with a buddy, win, and get 7 medals, you’d be looking at 11 PvP points.
Playing well and winning will have a much greater impact on the number of PvP Points you earn for each match than the type of match you play.
By completing a PvP Season Objective, you will earn 100 bonus points. Subscribers have access to 6 PvP Season Objectives per week, while non-subscribers have access to 4 PvP Objectives per week. Regardless of whether you are subscribed, you can only complete up to 4 objectives per week, so subscribing just gives you more choice about objectives.
It takes 9,000 PvP Points to complete the reward track, so each level requires 300 PvP Points. Since each Weekly Objective grants 100 Points and you can complete 4 per week over the expected 4-month duration of each season, you should be able to earn 6,400 PvP Points from the objectives alone and will need 2,600 PvP Points from match completions matches.
Looking at it from another angle, over the course of 16 weeks, you have to earn 9,000 points and can only earn 1,000 per week, so it will take at least 9 weeks to complete the season. However, you only need to earn ~600 points per week if you do it every week (it’s actually 562.5 points per week, to be exact).
That was a lot of numbers, I know. The moral of this story is that if you do enough PvP to get all 4 objectives done every week, you’ll most likely reach the ~600 point target and will complete the season just in time. Doing each of the PvP Weeklies once a week is also a good idea.
PvP Season-Based Achievements
Every season, there are 5 season-specific achievements that offer a total of 8 PvP Seasons Tokens as well as a unique and exclusive Legacy Title. They do not have any achievement points associated with them.
You can find these Achievements under Player vs Player ▶ General ▶ PvP Season X.
Icon | Achievement Name | Requirement | Reward |
---|---|---|---|
Warzone Warrior | Complete the Warzone weekly mission 12 times. | ||
Arena Advocator | Complete the Arena weekly mission 12 times. | ||
All-star Medalist | Earn 2,000 medals in Arenas and/or Warzones. | ||
Finisher | Reach level 30 on the PvP Season Reward track. | ||
PvP Season X Prodigy | Complete all other achievements current PvP Season. |
In order to get all of the marbles, you need to complete both of the PvP weeklies 12 times each, earn 2,000 Medals in matches, and finish the PvP Season Rewards track while the current season is active.
What rewards can you get from PvP Seasons
PvP Seasons will offer rare and exclusive rewards to players as they level up through this system and via purchases from specific vendors on the Fleet with PvP Season tokens.
Unlike Galactic Seasons, both F2P and subscribers will have access to all rewards, but you will earn PvP Points at a slower rate.
What are PvP Season Tokens and how to get them
PvP Season Tokens are the cosmetics currency for PvP Seasons, analogous to Galactic Seasons Tokens. You can earn up to 20 PvP Seasons Tokens total per PvP Season, with the achievements contributing 8 and the rewards track contributing 12.
PvP Seasons Fleet Vendors
There are 2 vendors located in the Combat section on the Republic and Imperial Fleets, offering very rare and unique items. All items they sell require the new currency called PvP Season Tokens to trade their goodies with you.
Previously, these vendors sold the rewards for the now-deprecated Ranked PvP Seasons, though those Ranked PvP rewards will remain purchasable for the PvP Seasons Tokens along with new rewards.
The structure is analogous to that of the rewards you can purchase from the Galactic Seasons vendors. Just like how Jaleit Nall sells a rotating schedule of old subscriber rewards, the Giradda holo sells a rotating schedule of old ranked PvP awards.
Similarly, Ki’at Thavo (usually) sells alternative rewards from the current season, while Tullek the Evocii sells additional variants from the current season.
Tullek, the Evocii Sells Seasonal Rewards
The Evocii sells cosmetics that are season-specific.
These will be available for sale from Giradda as part of his non-rotating inventory as soon as the season ends. The armor sets in the lockboxes are typically just recolors of the versions you can get from the rewards track from its associated season. Sometimes, they have slight variations.
Giradda Sells Replica Ranked PvP Rewards and Past Season Items
Giradda’s stock will rotate weekly, with a quarter of his stock available at a time. Below you can see all four groups of items, each will be available for a week on a rotation.

As you can see, the old ranked PvP rewards are quite expensive and may not be for sale the moment you save up enough tokens. The higher costs were done deliberately in an effort to preserve their prestige.
Remember, you can only get 20 PvP Tokens per PvP season, so purchasing a single one of these mounts, armor sets, or weapon sets will require you to complete an entire PvP Season and get the achievements.
