This guide will help you get all three SWTOR Datacrons on Hutta. From the best starting point to the exact location where you can collect them. And, of course, the Data Codex Entry lore behind each Datacron!
This guide is created for VULKK.com by Kal from TodayinTOR.
Datacrons are hidden collectible items in SWTOR that provide a permanent stat boost to all of your characters within your Legacy on a server.
There are dozens of Datacrons spread across both the Republic and Empire factions in SWTOR. Each Datacron you collect permanently boosts the stats of every character you have, including new characters. Every Datacron also unlocks a Codex Entry which unlocks Lore for you to read.
This guide goes over all the Datacrons that you can find on the planet Hutta . Located in the Hutt Space Sector, Hutta is the capital of Hutt Space.
Hutta is only accessible to the Empire faction. Republic players will not have access to these Datacrons. Each walkthrough segment of the guide always begins with the recommended starting point on the map and ends with the location of the Datacron itself and the Data Codex Entry.

Hutta Blue Mastery Datacron Location
This Datacron will permanently increase your Mastery with +2. It unlocks the Galactic History 1 Codex Entry.
The Blue Mastery Datacron is located south of Jiguuna Spaceport in The Bog. The easiest way to get to it is by following the path leading south from the Nemro’s Bazaar Quick Travel point.
Head South following the main road, you should cross through an Evocaii Village once you pass the Evocii Work Camp. Continue South until you reach The Bog.
Once you arrive at the Bog, turn Left and you should see a Large Metal Pipe with a Medical Droid nearby. You need to walk up the large pipe to get to the hill above the Medical Droid.
Once you have walked up the Large Metal Pipe, climb up the first hill that has trees, then down to the small path below. You can follow the edge of the path around until you reach the Datacron.
Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +2 Mastery to all characters and the Codex Entry:
Galactic History 1 – The Architects
Although the Republic has existed for millennia, there is evidence to suggest that long before its founding, a highly advanced race ruled the galaxy. Referred to as the “Architects” or “Celestials” by scholars, these beings possessed remarkable technology capable of constructing or realigning solar systems. The Corellia system, for example, appears to have been artificially constructed.
These claims would seem extraordinary, but many of the Architects’ machines survived the ages. The Vultar system was home to an immense “Cosmic Turbine” that could only have been Architect technology, before misuse destroyed both the turbine and the Vultar system itself. The fabled Centerpoint Station is thought to be an Architect installation, though many species have claimed it as the work of their own people.
In addition to their engineering marvels, it is believed that the Architects seeded the Core Worlds with life–particularly humans–though some attribute this to the Rakata’s Infinite Empire. Despite the proof of their achievements, however, there is little evidence to suggest where the Architects came from or what eventually became of them.
Hutta Presence Datacron Location
This Datacron will permanently increase your Presence with +2. It unlocks the Galactic History 2 Codex Entry.
The Yellow Presence Datacron is located on a small island to the north of The Rustyards. The easiest way to get to it is by following the path leading south from the Chemical Marsh Quick Travel point.
Once you arrive at the shoreline north of the Rustyards, climb onto the Metal Pipe that points directly North into the ocean. You must climb the Pipe as you cannot reach the Datacron by running to the Island.
Run across the top of the Pipe until you reach the end, you have to jump diagonally onto a small junction and jump again onto the next pipe that points towards the Island. If you fall off the pipe, you will have to run through the water back to the Rustyards and start again.
Once you have jumped onto the second pipe, run all the way to the Island at the end and click on the Yellow Datacron to collect it.
Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +2 Presence to all characters and the Codex Entry:
Galactic History 2 – Ancient Civilizations
In the period after the mysterious Architects vanished from the galaxy millennia ago, several great civilizations rose in their place. The intellectual Columi species created a vast but peaceful empire, focusing on academic pursuits while droids and elaborate machines labored for them. As a result, the Columi evolved enormous craniums and tiny bodies.
The strange, reptilian Kwa, who achieved interstellar travel through Infinity Gates that allowed them to effectively teleport between worlds, rose and mysteriously fell, eventually devolving into simple lizards. The cephalopod Gree also reached their apex in this time, creating technological marvels that have rarely been equaled. Eventually, on the backs of these civilizations would come the Rakata and their Infinite Empire.
Hutta Blue Matrix Shard Datacron Location
Matrix Shards are mission items that you can use to create a Relic. The Shards are earned Per-Character. This means that even though the Datacron is considered collected for your entire Legacy if you want to get the Matrix Shard on a different character you will have to find the Datacron again on that character. This Datacron unlocks the Galactic History 3 Codex Entry.
The Blue Matrix Shard Datacron is in the Sewer Maintenance Tunnels below the surface of Hutta. There are many Sewer Tunnels however the entrance closest to the Datacron is located to the North of the Evocaii Workcamp Quick Travel Point.
Once you enter the Sewer Tunnels, follow the path until you reach the Datacron. The Tunnels do not have a direct path to the Datacron as it is blocked by a wall, so you will have to travel the long way around to reach it.
The Sewer Tunnels are full of Champion level 6-8 enemies, so be careful if you are a low level character.
Successfully collecting the Matrix Datacron will give you 1 Blue Matrix Shard in the Mission Items Tab of your Inventory, as well as the Codex Entry:
Galactic History 3 – The Battalions of Zhell
In the millennia before the founding of the Republic, humans had not yet developed spaceflight. One human population–perhaps the only one–was confined to Coruscant, divided into thirteen tribes. This nearly proved disastrous when a volcanic eruption caused a near-extinction event, wiping out a large percentage of human life.
This made the humans easy prey for the Taung, a gray-skinned species that reveled in battle. Awed by the majesty of the eruption’s ash cloud, the Taung took the name “Warriors of the Shadow,” descended on the surviving humans and subjugated them. Gradually the fighting force of the thirteen human tribes–known as the Battalions of Zhell–mustered a resistance against the Taung.
After years of struggle, the Battalions managed to repel the Taung and claim their freedom. Coruscant has been the seat of humanity ever since.
