SWTOR Alderaan Datacron Locations Guide

Vulkk by Vulkk|

This guide will help you get all five SWTOR Datacrons on Alderaan. From the best starting point to the exact location where you can collect them. And, of course, the Data Codex Entry lore behind each Datacron!

Datacrons are hidden collectible items in SWTOR that provide a permanent stat boost to all of your characters within your Legacy on a server.

There are dozens of Datacrons spread across both the Republic and Empire factions in SWTOR. Each Datacron you collect permanently boosts the stats of every character you have, including new characters. Every Datacron also unlocks a Codex Entry which unlocks Lore for you to read.

This guide goes over all the Datacrons that you can find on the planet Alderaan. Alderaan is accessible to both Republic and Imperial players. It’s a Coreward Worlds planet nestled between Coruscant, Balmorra and Corellia.

Each walkthrough segment of the guide always begins with the recommended starting point on the map and ends with the location of the Datacron itself and the Data Codex Entry.

Special Items you may need for some Datacrons

Some of the Datacrons are gated in a way so that you are required to get a special item that you will use. There is a vendor on Alderaan that sells these items. They are very cheap. I will explain all of them in this segment and when I mention them in a Datacron Walkthrough, I will reference this segment.

Go to the Jurran Mountains zone on Alderaan in the southeastern corner of the World Map. There, in the bottom right corner, along the Woodland Path, you will find a vendor that offers three items. The NPC is called Lain-Ricie.

The route for Republic players is in white color. There are two Quick Travel terminals you can use, depending on how much you have explored previously: Wardpost Landa or House Alde Library. For Imperial players, Outpost Talaran is the closest to the vendor.

Here is her exact location and the easiest way to reach her for both Empire and Republic:

The vendor sells three items. Below you can read about each one of them, where and how to use them. Each time one of these is required for a Datacron, I will reference this segment of the guide and link to it.

MGGS SWTOR MGGS

The Magnetically Guided Grappling System is a unique item. You purchase it once and you can keep it forever. You can use this item to grapple to hooks placed by the developers of the game in strategic locations. This item is used several times for Datacron hunting.

NVSCCS NVSCCS

The Non-Violent Small Creature Capture System is a consumable and is not required for any of the Datacrons, but while you are here at this vendor, you might purchase a few, just in case. The item is used in other aspects of the game (obtaining special mini pets, for example).

Red Detonite Actuator SWTOR Red Detonite Actuator

This consumable is a consumable and is used to blow up rocks. It’s specifically required for one of the Datacrons on Alderaan.

SWTOR Datacron Blue Alderaan Blue Mastery Datacron Location

This Datacron will permanently increase your Mastery with +3. It unlocks the Galactic History 43 Codex Entry.

The Blue Mastery Datacron is in the middle of a lake, which you reach by riding a lift. The starting location is a bridge over the river in the Organa Medical Camp area in The Juran Mountains zone.

Closest Quick Travel for Republic players is Wardpost Landa. For Imperials, it’s Outpost Talaran.

From the west end of the bridge, take a left and follow the snowy narrow path. It will lead you to a platform with a lift hanging on steel ropes. To be punctual, this is is in the Sunny Vale area.

The lift is moving incredibly slowly up and down the ropes. If you mouse over it, you will get a notification pop-up that it’s a “Damaged Lift”. It’s still moving.

Wait for it to come all the way up and as it starts to move down again, jump on top of it. It’s easier to jump diagonally, so wait for the large spot in the middle of the lift to pass you and then jump on it.

Take the lift down

You can use the Crate nearby if it helps you. If you have Phase Walk, put it on the platform. Not catching the lift may not kill you, but you will not be able to reach the Datacron from the water down as the shores of the small lae are too steep.

Stay calm and wait for the lift to reach the small island down below. The Datacron is behind the big container on the right side down on the island. After you obtain the Datacron, you can “swim” to the other shores. It’s safe.

Alderaan Blue Mastery Datacron Location

Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +3 Mastery to all characters and the following Codex Entry:

Galactic History 43 – The Great Droid Revolution

Debate had been raging in the Republic over the issue of droid rights: Did droids deserve the same treatment as organic beings, and was owning droids tantamount to slavery? This question was rendered moot when a Czerka-built assassin droid, HK-01, went rogue and began reprogramming other droids to rise up against their masters, in what would be called the Great Droid Revolution.

Republic citizens, surrounded by thousands of rogue droids–every model, from protocol to sanitation to battle units–found themselves at the mercy of their former servants. Several planets were subjugated in the name of the droid rebellion, until the signal controlling the droids was traced.

Following the signal, a team of Jedi destroyed HK-01, returning the rogue droids to their original programming. The relieved Republic returned to normal, and the issue of droid rights was not raised again.

SWTOR Datacron Green Alderaan Endurance Datacron Location

This Datacron will permanently increase your Endurance with +3. It unlocks the Galactic History 44 Codex Entry.

Before you venture there, you will need to stop by the vendor Lain-Ricie and purchase the Red Detonite Actuator consumable item.

The Endurance Datacron is hidden in a small isolated cave. Its entrance is at the back of the Syrush Estate in the King’s Pass zone. This is the area at the bottom of the map. The closest Quick Travels are Wardpost Luurdes for Republic and Outpost Talaran for Empire players. These are both part of the core transportation network for each faction.

After you enter the cave, there will be several groups of Killiks in the tunnels. Your goal is to reach the end of the middle tunnel that leads (almost) directly east as you enter.

Behind a Killik Siege Soldier (level 33) you will find a small slot for a Blast Pack. You can interact with it. Click on it to place the Red Detonite Actuator and blow up the cave.

When you place the item, don’t stand near it. The blast from the explosion is deadly. The Datacron is in a small cave hidden behind that rock.

Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +3 Endurance to all characters and the following Codex Entry:

Galactic History 44 – The Jedi Nomi

Born Nomi Da-Boda, Nomi was the wife of the Jedi Knight Andur. She had no interest in developing her natural gifts in the Force, preferring to care for their daughter, Vima. But when they were ambushed by thugs and Andur was killed, Nomi saw his spirit urging her to pick up his lightsaber and defend their daughter. Reluctantly taking up the weapon, Nomi skillfully fought the thugs off and later left for the planet Ambria to train under Master Thon.

While on Ambria, Nomi discovered she had a talent for battle meditation–the Jedi gift of influencing and inspiring others through the Force–but never lost her trepidation at wielding a lightsaber. Nevertheless, Nomi’s Masters foresaw that she would have an important role to play in the galaxy, which came to fruition with the rise of the Krath cult.

SWTOR Datacron Yellow Alderaan Presence Datacron Location

This Datacron will permanently increase your Presence with +3. It unlocks the Galactic History 45 Codex Entry.

The start of your journey to the Presence Datacron is from the Elysium Foundations area in the Glarus Valley. Closest Quick Travel for Republic is Wardpost Hurne. For the Empire, it’s Outpost Ghrent.

Near the shores of the river, you will discover a unique Thranta transport. This one is not part of the main transportation network on Alderaan. In fact, when you discover it for the first time, you will also receive the Codex Entry Thranta Bestiary.

Take the Thranta. It will take you around the large rock formation, all to the nest, where you will find the Datacron. You will land right next to it. After you collect it, slide down on the western side.

Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +3 Presence to all characters and the following Codex Entry:

Galactic History 45 – The Krath Cult

As the Jedi know only too well, evil can arise from the most unlikely of sources. In the years after the Great Droid Revolution, two aristocrats, Satal Keto and his cousin Aleema, came to power in the Empress Teta system. Bored and spoiled, they became interested in the secrets of the Sith. They and their friends formed a Sith cult named Krath.

But Satal and Aleema began to crave real power. During a visit to the Galactic Museum on Coruscant, they spotted a book of ancient Sith lore and rituals and decided to steal it.

Once they had the book, they realized it was written in a long-forgotten Sith language. But Satal learned of the planet Onderon, once ruled by the Sith Lord Freedon Nadd, and the cousins left to unlock the book’s secrets there.

SWTOR Datacron Red Alderaan Red Mastery Datacron Location

This Datacron will permanently increase your Mastery +3. It unlocks the Galactic History 46 Codex Entry.

To obtain the Red Mastery Datacron on Alderaan, you will need the MGGS unique item from the vendor Lain-Ricie located on the Woodland Path in The Juran Mountains zone.

The starting point for the Datacron is in the Lerantha Footpath area, located to the east in the Kaamos Territory zone (far north on the World Map). This is the starting zone for Imperial players, so you’d have the closest Quick Travel if you are an Imperial, which is Thul Research Camp.

Republic players have to trek all the way up there from Wardpost Landa, or House Alde Library if it’s unlocked. From there, it’s a long trek through The Juran Mountains heading north. Turn east and take the snowy mountain passage once you cross into the Kaamos Territory.

Alderaan Red Mastery Datacron Starting Location

From the crossroads, you will see the giant dam. The Datacron is right there, sitting on a small platform protruding from the dam’s wall. Use MGGS to jump to the platform. Target one of the two square nodes above the platform.

Alderaan Red Mastery Datacron Location

You can then get down using the ladder. I know… ladders in SWTOR. It’s a miracle.

Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +3 Mastery to all characters and the following Codex Entry:

Galactic History 46 – Nadd’s Legacy

Once ruled by the Sith Lord Freedon Nadd, Onderon had gained a dark reputation. Master Arca Jeth sent three Jedi, including the brothers Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma, to act as stewards of the planet and bring peace to its people. When the Jedi arrived, Onderon’s ruler–Queen Amanoa–begged for the Jedi’s help in protecting her people from the warrior Beast Riders, who soon captured her daughter Galia.

Upon investigating, the Jedi learned the truth: Galia and the Beast Rider warlord Oron Kira had arranged the abduction together, planning to marry and unite their warring cultures. Queen Amanoa was actually a descendant of Freedon Nadd, strong in the dark side, and the Jedi were among her enemies.

The queen’s forces battled with those of the Beast Riders and the Jedi. Cay Qel-Droma lost his arm in the fighting, and only the arrival of Arca Jeth–who used battle meditation to turn the battle in the Jedi’s favor–saved Onderon. With Queen Amanoa’s defeat, Galia and Oron Kira began rebuilding their world.

SWTOR Datacron Purple Alderaan Purple Mastery Datacron Location

This Datacron will permanently increase your Mastery with +3. It unlocks the Galactic History 47 Codex Entry.

This Datacron is in the Glarus Valley zone (west on the World Map), inside Castle Panteer, on the second floor. The best Quick Travel for Republic is Panteer Refuge. For Imperials, Outpost Ghrent is south of the river, in the middle of the zone.

After you enter the castle through the main gate (beware, there are groups of enemy NPCs both outside and inside), head for the back left. The door there is slightly open and you can go through it.

Climb the stairs, get to the second floor, and go around to the other end of the to find the Purple Datacron.

Alderaan Purple Mastery Datacron Location spot

Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +3 Mastery to all characters and the following Codex Entry:

Galactic History 47 – Naddist Rebels

With Queen Amanoa dead, Onderon enjoyed a brief period of peace, but a shadow still hung over the planet. So-called “Naddist Rebels” began to emerge, a sect that revered the teachings of the Sith Lord Freedon Nadd. Master Arca Jeth and his students sought to cleanse Onderon of Nadd’s influence by moving Nadd’s sarcophagus to Onderon’s moon, Dxun, but they were ambushed by Naddists who stole the sarcophagus.

While seeking out the Naddists, Arca Jeth discovered that King Ommin, long thought dead, was being kept alive in a secret facility. Also a follower of Nadd, Ommin joined forces with Nadd’s undying spirit and managed to capture Arca Jeth. The king fled to a secret stronghold while Arca Jeth’s student, Ulic Qel-Droma, called for Republic reinforcements.
