This guide will help you get all five SWTOR Datacrons on Belsavis. From the best starting point to the exact location where you can collect them. And, of course, the Data Codex Entry lore behind each Datacron!
This guide is created for VULKK.com by Kal from TodayinTOR.
Datacrons are hidden collectible items in SWTOR that provide a permanent stat boost to all of your characters within your Legacy on a server.
There are dozens of Datacrons spread across both the Republic and Empire factions in SWTOR. Each Datacron you collect permanently boosts the stats of every character you have, including new characters. Every Datacron also unlocks a Codex Entry which unlocks Lore for you to read.
This guide goes over all the Datacrons that you can find on the planet Belsavis. Located in the Distant Outer Rim, Belsavis is a level 44 planet.
Belsavis is accessible to Both factions. Each walkthrough segment of the guide always begins with the recommended starting point on the map and ends with the location of the Datacron itself and the Data Codex Entry.

Approach the edge of the rocky path above the lava and look below. A small blue screen in the wall below you is projecting an invisible bridge to the Datacron. Walk off and do your best to land on the bridge.
Once you are standing on the bridge it is a lot easier to see. Walk directly forward towards the Datacron and it’s all yours.
Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +4 Mastery to all characters and the following Codex Entry:
Galactic History 68 – The Mandalorians Return
The Mandalorians had never forgotten their humiliating defeat at the Republic’s hands during the Great Sith War. With his Neo-Crusader warriors prepared by a decade of conquest, Mandalore the Ultimate decided the time was right and launched an assault on the Republic. Several Zabrak colonies fell to the Mandalorian advance, under heavy blaster fire and the shadow of Basilisk war droids.
Finally provoked into action, the Republic appealed to the Jedi for military support, but the Council refused. The Masters believed there were greater forces at work behind the Mandalorian invasion than a simple lust for war. They wanted to remain apart from the conflict, believing the true threat would reveal itself in time. However, some younger Jedi disagreed with the Council’s edict. These Jedi would form a splinter group, the “Revanchists,” and answer the Republic’s call for help.
Belsavis Endurance Datacron Location
This Datacron will permanently increase your Endurance with +4. It unlocks the Galactic History 69 Codex Entry.
The closest travel point for this Datacron is in the Imperial Command Post Quick Travel Point for Imperial Players and Republic Watchtower Quick Travel Point for Republic Players. It is located in the High Security Section.
Travel to the far North in the High Security section then follow the Western Ice-Wall around until you uncover some rocks.
Within the rocks should be a ravine you can crawl into. Safely make your way to the bottom by following the rocky staircase.
At the bottom of the Ravine is a cave, enter it and the Datacron is just ahead.
In the main chamber of the Cave is the Datacron. It is guarded by a Champion level 44 enemy named Long Claw. If you cannot use stealth to reach the Datacron be prepared for a tough fight.
Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +4 Endurance to all characters and the following Codex Entry:
Galactic History 69 – The Mandalorian Wars
The Mandalorians had returned to take revenge on the Republic and sate their lust for war and conquest. With the Jedi Council refusing to lend military aid–believing the true threat was still unclear, and the risk of conflict-hardened Jedi falling to the darkness was high–the Republic was unable to prevent the Mandalorians from devastating the planet Cathar. Millions died. This was the last straw for several young Jedi, who disobeyed the Council to join the war effort.
The most notable was Revan, a charismatic and skilled leader who rose to the rank of general. Revan’s friend Alek, later known as Malak, distinguished himself on the front lines. Revan’s tactics and Malak’s unyielding strength turned the tide, helping the Republic forces to victory at Althir and Jaga’s Cluster.
But the Council did not approve. Seeing their rash involvement in the war and their gradual adoption of Mandalorian tactics, the Council watched Revan and Malak’s heroics uneasily, remembering the fall of Exar Kun.
Belsavis Presence Datacron Location
This Datacron will permanently increase your Presence with +4. It unlocks the Galactic History 70 Codex Entry.
The closest travel point for this Datacron is in the Imperial Frontline Camp Quick Travel Point for Imperial Players and Maximum Security Ops Center Quick Travel Point for Republic Players. It is located in the Maximum Security Section.
To locate the starting area for this Datacron, follow the ice wall from the North until you reach the Western topmost part of the Map. You should see a hill begin to rise with snow and flying creatures in the right direction.
Keep following the snow until you come to a large rocky pylon around the corner. Turn right into the cave near the rocky pylon and keep going.
When you exit the cave, immediately turn right and follow the rocky floor all the way around until you reach the Datacron!
Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +4 Endurance to all characters and the following Codex Entry:
Galactic History 70 – The Covenent Acts
For years, the Jedi Covenant had existed secretly within the Jedi Order, dedicated to finding and destroying the next Sith threat before it began. Then, during a mission with their Padawans, the Covenant seers had a terrifying vision: a Sith Lord in red destroying the galaxy. The Covenant realized their Padawans were wearing red environmental suits, exactly like the Sith Lord in their vision.
The Jedi Covenant made a solemn decision. To ensure the galaxy’s safety, their Padawans had to be killed before the prophecy was fulfilled. The terrible deed was done on Taris during the Padawans’ knighting ceremony.
Only the Padawan Zayne Carrick, who was late to the ceremony, survived. Framed for the murder of his fellow Padawans, Carrick went on the run, pursued by the Covenant who feared he would become the next Sith Lord.
Belsavis Green Matrix Shard Datacron Location
Matrix Shards are mission items that you can use to create a Relic. The Shards are earned Per-Character. This means that even though the Datacron is considered collected for your entire Legacy if you want to get the Matrix Shard on a different character you will have to find the Datacron again on that character. This Datacron unlocks the Galactic History 71 Codex Entry.
The closest Quick Travel Point for Republic Players is Automated Checkpoint, and for Imperial Players is Imperial Remote Post located in The Tomb.
Find 4 Rakatan Cubes
Important: You cannot directly go to the Datacron, as you need to ‘build’ it first. You do not need all 4 pieces yourself. If someone helps you, you can do it together as long as you have 4 total pieces combined.
You need to locate and loot 4 Rakatan Energy Cubes. There are 8 possible spawn locations scattered across The Tomb. Only one can be found at a time and there is a several minute respawn timer before the next one spawns at any of the 8 locations randomly.
The Rakatan Energy Cubes appear like small silver datacrons on the ground in any of the 8 locations. Unlike datacrons they make no sound but you can click on them to collect them.
Below is a list of all 8 potential locations. Click on an image to expand it:
Click on a Cube to collect it. It will appear as a blue item in your Inventory. Remember that you need to have 4 to create the Datacron.
Creating the Datacron
Once you have 4 Rakata Energy Cubes, head to the center of The Tomb, under the big tree and look for the elevator decorated with Rakatan statues.
Take the elevator down to the Cave-Under-Tree.
Once you arrive, walk forward until you reach the Computer Consoles.
You can see the datacront infront of you but it is unfinished. Using the 4 computers, click each one to place one of your Rakatan Cubes in.
When all 4 are put in you can click on the computer to the right to power the Datacron! After a brief animation you can walk up and collect the Datacron.
Successfully collecting the Matrix Datacron will give you 1 Green Matrix Shard in the Mission Items Tab of your Inventory, as well as the Codex Entry:
Galactic History 71 – The Muur Talisman
As the Mandalorian Wars raged, Zayne Carrick escaped the Jedi Covenant, falsely accused of murdering his fellow Padawans. While hiding on Taris, Carrick encountered Celeste Morne, one of the Covenant’s shadow operatives. Morne was searching for the Muur Talisman, a Sith artifact that could turn humans into monstrous rakghouls.
Morne attempted to arrest Carrick but was interrupted by a Mandalorian raid. Realizing the Mandalorians had found the Muur Talisman, Morne and Carrick stowed away on the Mandalorians’ ship to Jebble. The dark talisman possessed Morne, and she began using it to turn the Mandalorians into rakghouls.
Horrified, Carrick finally persuaded Morne to see reason. She agreed to be sealed away in an oubliette to protect the galaxy from the talisman’s corruptive power. The oubliette was lost when the Mandalorians razed Jebble; however, Carrick spoke of the Muur Talisman–and rakghouls–to another Jedi, Alek… later known as Darth Malak.
Belsavis Purple Mastery Datacron Location
This Datacron will permanently increase your Mastery with +4. It unlocks the Galactic History 72 Codex Entry.

You can find the starting location of this datacron on the west-side wall of the large mountain in the very center of the High Security Section near the end of a dotted path on the map. Enter the cave amongst the rocks.
Follow the grassy path through the cave until you reach the Datacron.
Successfully collecting the Datacron will give you +4 Mastery to all characters and the following Codex Entry:
Galactic History 72 – The Fall of the Covenant
The Jedi Covenant’s attempts to prevent another Sith war had led its members to horrific acts, culminating in the murder of their Padawans. It was too much for the seer Xamar, who left the Covenant to aid Zayne Carrick, the Padawan framed for the crime.
Together they went to confront Krynda Draay, the founder of the Jedi Covenant, and her son Lucien, Carrick’s former Master. At the Draay mansion, Carrick discovered the real culprit: Krynda’s aide Haazen, a fallen Jedi who had been manipulating the Covenant. As Lucien and Carrick dueled, Haazen used an override in the Republic Navy’s weapon systems, intending to destroy the Jedi Temple and the Council.
At the last minute, Lucien overcame his anger, helped Carrick escape, then used Haazen’s override to bombard Haazen’s position instead. Haazen was killed; Lucien survived, suffering serious injuries. Zayne Carrick’s name was cleared, and the Jedi Covenant was finished.
