Vulkk by Vulkk|

Learn how to start and complete the Alliance Alert Mission in SWTOR, To Find a Findsman, on Zakuul and open up your Alliance Recruitment!

With To Find a Findsman, you meet and recruit the Gand Yuun. Yunn is one of the original Republic Trooper Companions. Following the events in Knights of the Fallen Empire, the game splits your character from their companions. You will slowly be meeting and recruiting many of them during the course of your adventures.

Requirements to unlock To Find a Findsman

To Find a Findsman is one of the first Alliance Alerts you will start receiving from your Alliance partners on Odessen.

The mission becomes available after you complete Chapter 9 of Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion storyline in SWTOR. As soon as you establish your base of operations on Odessen, you can start recruiting. First on your list should be To Find a FIndsman, where you recruit Yuun.

To Find a Findsman is a requirement for many other Alliance Recruitment missions. It’s relatively easy and quick to do.

Click on the button at the bottom “Travel to Alert Location”. This will transport you to Odessen’s Alliance Camp Landing Area. With the new mission available in your mission log, you can click on the little pale blue planet icon to travel to the starter location on Zakuul.

Or you can manually navigate to the planet.

Zakuul can be a bit of a puzzle to navigate for new or returning players. This portion of the guide is very detailed in an attempt to help guide you and prevent you from losing yourself in the many areas and maps Zakuul has.

Where to find Yuun

You will arrive at the Undercity Central zone on Zakuul. From the Shuttle District head east and take the platform elevator up to the Central Catwalks. From there, take the next elevator down to the Residential Sector.

When you arrive at the Undercity, head east again to reach the Undercity Transport Station.

Head East and go to the Undercity Rail Station

Take the stairs all the way down to the Tram Service Rails in the Maintenance Transport Tunnels. Walk northeast to reach the Tram Commercial Access area. That’s where you will find Yuun.

Where to find Yuun

In a brief conversation in the KOTOR style (cheap version of the traditional SWTOR-styled cinematic conversations, where your character is not voiced over), Yuun will greet you and explain that he is willing to join, but first needs your help obtaining four items.

SWTOR To Find A Findsman Alliance Alert Guide - Agree to help Yuun

If you want to continue and complete this mission, you have to agree to help. Choosing the third option will put the quest in a limbo state and Yuun will be waiting for you to return and help him whenever you please.

Yuun will ask you to find four components. It doesn’t matter in what order you collect them. They are labeled as such and have a unique feature to them that shows differently depending on what class you play.

If you play a Force Class, the items will activate. If you play a Tech Class, the items will switch on when you click on them. There is an explanation for this behavior. Yuun will give it to you after you bring them to him. It’s an optional dialogue choice.

Recover the First Component

Head back up to the Undercity and take the platform elevator to the Tram Market.

Go to Tram Market

You will find the First Component next to a wall between the Scavenging and Armormech trainers.

Recover the First Component

Recover the Second Component

From the Undercity, head west, take the first stairs, continue west until you reach the station, then one more right. The map is confusing and overlapping, but your goal is to get to the rail station and take a train to Breaktown.

As you arrive at Breaktown, the first item you will pick up is the Second Component. It’s southwest of the station.

Recover the Third Component

The third is in a pile of trash in a back alley in Downtown Central. If you play a stealth discipline, you can avoid the encounter here, just sneak past them.

Recover the Fourth Component

After you have picked up the Third, head south to the Midtown District to collect the Fourth Component.

After you have collected all three available Components from Breaktown, you can Quick Travel to the Breaktown terminal and return to Yuun in the Maintenance Transport Tunnels.

Tell Yuun you have recovered his components

When you tell Yuun that you have recovered the components he asked for, you will have a chance to ask him about the strange behavior you observed earlier with each one of the activating or switching on.

Ask Yuun about the Components' behavior

Here is Yuun’s explanation for the weird behavior of the components:

Yuun apologizes for any misunderstandings. There is an odd maelstrom swirling about you...
It's hard to describe, yet somehow in tune with the remaining objects.
Yuun suspected, therefore, that only you could walk the path to claim them.
Yuun apologizes that the exact nature of the link and its larger significance cannot be explained more fully. Yuun lacks the words.
Seeing the path and seeing its destination are not always one and the same.

Complete the quest by talking to Dr. Oggurobb

To complete the mission, you have to report back to Dr. Oggurobb back on Odessen. The quickest way to get there is to open the Companions and Contacts menu, scroll down to find Juvard Illip Oggurobb in the Alliance Specialists tab and click on the button “Travel to Contact” at the top right. This feature is available for all other characters as well.

Talk to Dr. Oggurobb

This will transport you immediately to Odessen’s Alliance Camp HQ. Dr. Oggurobb is waiting for you at his usual position (he never moves from there) at the platform to the left of you as you arrive.

What rewards do you get

The rewards you receive from these missions are almost irrelevant in regards to the SWTOR Endgame these days. You receive the following guaranteed items:

  • Credits
  • Experience Points (unless you are at the level cap already)
  • Influence Gain with Yuun (enough to put him at level 2)
  • Influence Gain with Juvard Illip Oggurobb
  • Supply Crate: Alien Research

You can choose one of the following Companion Gifts:

  • Cultural Artirfact, Rank 6
  • Technology, Rank 6
  • Trophy, Rank 6
To Find a Findsman Rewards

The most important reward is that you have completed this mission. It is a requirement for many other Alliance Alerts to be unlocked and completed. After you complete it, a ton more Alliance Alerts will automatically show up in the Comnaions and Contacts window.

Note that these are per-character. You have to complete these Alliance Alerts on every character if you want the benefits from them. They are not Legacy bound.

If this is your first time playing through KOTFE, you may want to check out the Guide to the Alliance System in SWTOR to learn what it is, how it works and what content it unlocks and offers you.
