This guide will help you get all four SWTOR Datacrons on Rishi. It shows you all locations you must visit and all steps you need to take in the appropriate order to unlock and collect the Datacrons. And, of course, the Data Codex Entry lore behind each Datacron!
This guide is created for VULKK.com by Kal from TodayinTOR.
Datacrons are hidden collectible items in SWTOR that provide a permanent stat boost to all of your characters within your Legacy on a server.
There are dozens of Datacrons spread across both the Republic and Empire factions in SWTOR. Each Datacron you collect permanently boosts the stats of every character you have, including new characters. Every Datacron also unlocks a Codex Entry which unlocks Lore for you to read.
This guide goes over all the Datacrons that you can find on the planet Rishi. It’s located to the bottom of the Distant Outer Rim.
Rishi is accessible to both factions. All four of Rishi’s Datacrons are located together as one giant bundle at the end of a lengthy series of hidden clickable items. Do not expect to finish all Parts in one day as there are RNG factors, and random players may slow down your progress.
There are no necessary items or requirements to start the Datacrons hunt, however, I suggest making sure that you fully complete Part 1 (the Grophets) before attempting any futher Parts as you must restart completely from Part 1 if you fail.
Each Part contains Temporary Buffs, which means that leaving Rishi, disabling your Buffs or the Buffs running out of time, will force you to restart from the beginning.

Get the Three Grophet Buffs
There are three Special Grophets that have very low spawn chances, scattered around Rishi. Each location has a 15-minute respawn timer and there is no guarantee that the Grophet you need will spawn, so I suggest constantly moving between all three places until you find the one, two, or three you need.
The Three Grophets are:
Breck – Sky Ridge Island
Wudd – Sky Ridge Island
Straugh – Horizon Island
Each Grophet drops a Data item as loot that applies a Temporary Buff to your character when clicked in your Inventory. Make Sure that you have all three before clicking them, if you use one and the timer expires you must get it again.
Where to find Breck
Breck is the first Grohpet, located on Sky Ridge Island in the Ponds towards the Center-West of the Island itself. You need to take down the Neutral-Yellow Grophet Mother surrounded by 3 Grophet Babies until Breck spawns.
Once Breck has spawned in the place of the Grophet Mother, defeat Breck and make sure to Loot the body for your first Data Packet.
Defeating Breck awards you with the “A Breck House” achievement.
Where to find Wudd
Wudd is the second Grohpet, located on Sky Ridge Island along the main road to the North-East of the Island itself. You must farm the Neutral-Yellow Jungle Grophet until Wudd spawns.
Once Wudd has spawned in the place of the Jungle Grophet, defeat Wudd and make sure to Loot the body for your second Data Packet.
Defeating Wudd awards you with the “Where’s Wudd” achievement.
Where to find Straugh
Straugh is the third Grohpet, located on Horizon Island to the West of the Skyline Falls Camp. You must farm the Neutral-Yellow Jungle Grophlet until Straugh spawns.
Once Straugh has spawned in the place of the Jungle Grophet, take down Straugh and make sure to Loot the body for your third and final Data Packet.
Defeating Straugh awards you with “The Last Straugh” achievement.
Successfully finding and defeating all 3 of the Grophets will give you the ‘Three Not So Little Grophets’ achievement, as well as the Legacy Title: The Wolf of Rishi, even if you did not loot the Data Packets.
Get the Cybernetic Skull Buff
Once you have all Three of the Data Packets in your inventory, you must find the Cybernetic Skull. Make sure to find the Skull first before using the Three Disks.
The Skull is located at the Top-Middle of Slave Island. You can take a Taxi to Slave Island from the crate at the Skyline Falls Camp on Horizon Island.
Once you arrive at Slave Island, go all the way to the top of the Island until you find a small pile of Skulls amongst some Palm Trees. If no one has recently used the Skulls, the Skull at the top of the pile should be clickable.
Consume all three of the Data Packet items in your inventory and then Click the Skull. The three Data Packet buffs will be replaced by a new “Neural Implant” Temporary Buff.
Get the Incredible Smell Discoverer Buff
Once you have the Neural Implant Temporary Buff it is time to find the Deep Sea Pheremone Bottle as quickly as possible. It can be found hidden away in a pile of Junk on the boardwalk of Rishi Cove.
Successfully clicking the bottle will give you the “Smell of the Sea” achievement, as well as the Legacy Title: Incredible Smell Discoverer.
Find the Unique Rock Formation
Now you have both the Neural Implant Temporary Buff as well as the Incredible Smell Temporary Buff it is time to find the Unique Rock. The Unique Rock is located on the Far-Western beachside of Sky Ridge Island.
Once you have Investigated the Unique Rock, it will remove both of your Temporary Buffs and give you a new one called Neural Location. If you did not have the correct Temporary Buffs the Unique Rock will poison you to death instead.
Both of the Skulls above the Unique Rock will begin to shoot light from their eyes, pointing you in the direction of the Datacron, you need to travel a few dozen meters North along the Shoreline to find the Datacrons.
Rishi Datacrons Location
Each of the four Datacron’s will permanently increase your Mastery with +10. You must click on all four of them Manually.
Make sure you have obtained the Neural Location Buff before accessing the Datacron otherwise this will not work. Find the Anchored Rock a few dozen meters above the Unique Rock and click on it, large tentacles will spawn and destroy the rock, revealing the Datacrons for a few minutes.

Galactic History 90: The Battle of Alderaan
The Sith Empire had won victory after victory in the Great War. But despite the Sith Emperor’s planning, the Empire had also endured setbacks from stubborn Republic defenders. To shatter the Republic’s morale, Imperial forces led by the newly-promoted Darth Malgus descended on the peaceful Core World of Alderaan. The surprise attack left Alderaan in flames.
Alderaan was little more than a transfer station for Republic soldiers on leave, though it also had a number of Republic military hospitals. There was no way the Empire could have foreseen that Captain Jace Malcom and Havoc Squad–the Republic’s elite Special Forces unit–would be on planet as the attack came. Jace organized an armed stand against the Empire and signaled the Republic.
During an ambush in Alderaan’s snowy forests, Captain Malcom and Satele Shan–the Jedi who would become Grand Master of the order–fought and defeated Darth Malgus. The tide was turned; the Republic fleet arrived soon afterwards, securing Alderaan, and the injured Malgus was secretly evacuated by fleeing Imperial forces.

Galactic History 91: The Syndicate Wars
To the galaxy’s underworld, war means profit. As the Republic and Sith Empire clashed, the Hutt-affiliated Rath Cartel and the upstart Vandelhelm Combine competed to smuggle weapons to the highest bidder in what were later called the Syndicate Wars.
When both sides hired powerful mercenaries, the rivalry spiraled out of control. Eventually the fighting spilled over into a “back door” trade corridor controlled by the notorious Nok Drayen, a gangster who had destroyed half the Hutt Cartel in a single night.
With his profits in danger, Nok Drayen swiftly retaliated against both factions. The Rath Cartel and the Vandelhelm Combine soon realized they were out of their depth, as Nok Drayen called in favors from dangerous Gank mercenaries, renegade Hutts and even Imperial officials. Finally Nok Drayen attacked Vandelhelm’s headquarters, while simultaneously having the leader of the Rath Cartel assassinated. When the Syndicate Wars were over, every credit Vandelhelm and the Rath Cartel had earned went into Nok Drayen’s pocket.
Successfully collecting the Red Datacron will give you +10 Mastery to all characters and the following Codex Entry:
Galactic History 92: The Hydian Way
Driven to test themselves in war, the Mandalorians had traditionally found common ground with the goals of the Sith. After the Empire’s return, a new Mandalore emerged, forged in the gladiatorial arenas of Geonosis, and agreed to an Imperial alliance. Calling his scattered people together, Mandalore assembled a powerful fleet and blockaded the Hydian Way, a critical Republic supply line.
The Core Worlds slowly began to starve, and a partnership of underworld figures led by the smuggler Hylo Visz saw opportunity. The group baited the Mandalorians with bulk freighters of goods, before a motley fleet of starships ambushed the Mandalorian cruisers and forced them to break formation. With support from the Republic Navy, the blockade was destroyed.
As Hylo and her associates grew rich overnight, the Mandalorians withdrew. Dissent was growing in the ranks. Soon, Mandalore himself would face a challenge to his leadership.
Successfully collecting the Purple Datacron will give you +10 Mastery to all characters and the following Codex Entry:
Galactic History 93: The Mandalorian Schism
The Great Hunt–a test of skill, valor and daring–has been a Mandalorian tradition for generations. After the Mandalorian defeat at the Hydian Way, Mandalore organized a Great Hunt to inspire and unite his people. The winner, Artus, challenged Mandalore to a duel and shot him dead. Artus then claimed the title of Mandalore himself, reaffirming the alliance with the Sith Empire.
Several Mandalorian clans, led by the renowned warrior Jicoln Cadera, disagreed. Centuries before, Mandalore the Preserver had fought shoulder-to-shoulder with Jedi and led his people to glory; Jicoln and his clans argued that they should ally with the Republic. When Artus refused, Jicoln Cadera led the clans in an uprising against him.
The two men fought a bloody campaign, but Artus eventually prevailed. He broke the rebels, seizing their armor and ordering their children adopted into other clans. Jicoln Cadera escaped into exile, leaving Artus unchallenged.
The total result of you obtaining all four Datacrons on Rishi is that your Mastery increases with +40. It’s definitely worth the trip and all the trouble.
