This guide will tell you how to start and complete the Colicoid War Games Flashpoint in SWTOR, what achievements you can unlock, and rewards you can earn.
How to Start the Flashpoint
Colicoid War Games is an odd flashpoint for a couple reasons. First off, this flashpoint is not available as for Solo Mode or Master Mode. Second, there’s only one boss in this flashpoint and two minigames to complete. It requires a good amount of teamwork to solve so chances are you won’t be able to solo this easily if at all.
The story for Colicoid War Games is that the Coilicoids are an insectoid race that specializes in the development of weapons and technology. They have been selling droids and weapons to both the Republic and Empire but now they want to align with one faction. These war games were to pit the Republic and Imperial forces together in a competition to see who is more worthy of their technology.
This guide covers Veteran Mode for Colicoid War Games. There is no Story or Master Mode.
To access the Colicoid War Games flashpoint, Republic or Empire players must find the mission terminal that grants this flashpoint. You can get there by using the Mission Departures Elevator then going to the Dropship Launch Hangar. The mission terminal at the site will grant the flashpoint at Veteran Mode difficulty.
Using Crew Skills in Colicoid War Games
Colicoid War Games is a very straight forward flashpoint so there’s no opportunity to gain access to shortcuts with Crew Skills. Instead there are a couple areas in which you can use crew skills to summon temporary companions.
The first thing you’ll encounter is after the Turret phase. When you walk into the hallway of the Combat Simulation Room, you’ll find a Broken Droid that requires 325 Scavenging to repair. Repairing it will have a battle droid fight alongside you for a bit until it’s defeated.
At the Arena Registration area you can find an Akk Dog Containment Cell. With 325 Slicing, you can unlock the cell and get an Akk dog companion to aid you in the final battle.
Survive the Colicoid Waves
Before you can join the Colicoid War games, you’ll need to register to enter at a terminal near an entrance that leads outside. Once you’re outside you’ll find a wide open range with two turret placements each with four turrets that can me mounted. This phase will start when someone in the party mounts one of the turrets.
When the party has mounted the turrets, waves of Colicoids and the occasional droid will spawn. The Colicoids attack in melee range while the droids attack at a distance. They’ll all begin to head towards the party while the party needs to fire the turrets at the incoming waves of enemies.
To use the turrets, simply turn to face an enemy and the turret will automatically fire. A great feature of these turrets is that they have splash damage so they’ll deal damage to any Colicoid within the line of fire. You will also have a minor health regeneration boost while mounting a turret.
You will need to complete this onslaught of Colicoids twice in this area. Once you’ve completed this phase, a chest will fall from the sky with loot and the blue gate will open the Combat Simulation Room.
Combat Simulation Room
The Combat Simulation Room is somewhat annoying. The party will have to fight some droids but the bipedal droids can become invulnerable. They can enter “Simulation Mode” where they’ll gain a blue shield that makes them immune to damage. Attack the droids that aren’t shielded and you’ll eventually clear out the room and access the next area.
Complete the Hazard Course
The Hazard Course requires the team to partake in jolly cooperation to proceed further. There are numerous gates and gate control terminals that you can activate. Different terminals open different gates and you’ll need to figure out which terminal activates which gate in order to proceed.
When you activate a gate control terminal, you’ll channel an ability and if you move away from the terminal the gate will closed. Whenever someone activates a terminal, they need to remain in place while another teammate activates the next gate control terminal. Reaching the last terminal will unlock all gates in the area.
Stealthers should be careful of the fire traps. While they may not hurt much, they will cause you to enter combat with the nearby MK-X Hazard Droid. You will encounter MK-2 and MK-3 Hazard Droids but the MK-X variant is the one you should worry about. They have the ability to fling you into the air and potentially into the lava below. Make sure you have a good bit of landing area behind you when you fight them.
Below is a map of the first Hazard Course and which Gate Control terminal unlocks which gate. You will need a minimum of two people with the ability to dash to a target to complete this but ideally you should have three or four players. The MK-X Hazard Droid can respawn if you need something to dash to if you get stuck. Complete the Hazard Course in the following order:
- Red Gate
- Yellow Gate
- Green Gate
- Blue Gate
- Purple Gate
Once you activate the terminal indicated by the purple octagon, all the gates will deactivate in the area. Keep in mind that these terminals don’t actually have these colors in the flashpoint, it is just for the purposes of this guide.
The second Hazard Course is much simpler to complete. Complete the course in the following order:
- Red Gate
- Yellow Gate
- Green Gate
- Blue Gate
Activating the Blue Terminal at will deactivate all the gates in the second Hazard Course.
Survive the Arena
The final phase of the Colicoid War Games is an arena fight. After registering at the arena at the console you’ll access the arena. The first opponents you’ll fight are two Nexus and an Acklay. It’s fairly easy to tell that this encounter was inspired by the Petranaki Arena scene from Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
After defeating the beasts you’ll fight the only boss in the Colicoid War Games, Annihilator 6K-A2. It’s an easy fight, the only threat he poses is that he’ll fire rockets at party members. If you see a red ring underneath you, move out of the way to avoid the rockets.
Once you defeat the Annihilator droid, loot it and return to the fleet to turn in your mission to complete the flashpoint!
Achievement for Colicoid War Games
No that’s not a typo, there is literally only one achievement available for Colicoid War Games.
Defeat Annihilator 6K-A2 (Veteran Mode)
Defeated Annihilator 6K-A2 in the “Colicoid War Games” flashpoint.
You’ll gain the Annihilator 6K-A2 (Story) Trophy Decoration.
Decoration Drop
The bosses have a small chance to drop the Manned Blaster Turret decoration. This will fit a Medium or a Medium Narrow Hook. If you interact with it, it’ll fire out a plasma shot. You won’t be able to mount and turn it, still a fun decoration overall!
