This guide will tell you how to unlock the Desperate Defiance story in SWTOR. You’ll also learn how to access the new quests and the new zone on Hutta, the Minboosa District.
Requirements to Unlock the Desperate Defiance Story
To access the Desperate Defiance Story, you’ll need to unlock the mission “Desperate Defiance”. You need to first meet the following story progression requirements to unlock it:
- Complete the 7.0 Story on Manaan, released with 7.0
- Complete the Elom Flashpoint, released with 7.0
- Complete the Digging Deeper Story, released with 7.1
- Complete the Ruhnuk Story, released with 7.2
- Complete the Old Wounds Story, released with 7.3
- Complete the Chains in the Dark, released with 7.4
You do not need to complete the Manaan Daily Area to access Old Wounds or the Ruhnuk storylines. But they will fill in some gaps you may otherwise miss in the narrative.
Once you have met these requirements, you can use the “Launch” button for the “Desperate Defiance” mission in your Mission Log or Mission Tracker to start the mission.
To access and play this storyline, you need to either be an active subscriber now or have been a subscriber for at least a month between now and the release of the Legacy of the Sith 7.0 Expansion.
This should remain the standard rule for all and any future story bits that are part of the 7.x cycle. If things change, we will update where and when required, of course.
How to Start the Desperate Defiance Story
Go to your Mission Pane or Mission Log and select the “Launch” button for the “Desperate Defiance” mission. This will start a cutscene where you’ll see what Heta Kol’s Mandalorians are up to. Afterwards, you’ll have to deal with one of the greatest foes of all, bureaucracy.
After completing the Desperate Defiance mission, you’ll get the “What Bothers Minboosa” mission. Now you’ll need to make your way to the planet Hutta to proceed further.
How to Access the Minboosa District on Hutta
To access the new area on Hutta, open your Galaxy Map and select Hutta in Imperial Space. This is an entirely new zone if you’re playing as an Imperial, or the only zone if you’re playing as the Republic.
