SWTOR Galactic Season 7 “The Greatest Hunt” started with the release of Update 7.5.1. Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about it!
Table of contents
What is the Galactic Season System
The Galactic Seasons is a level-based seasonal in-game system in SWTOR. You can actively earn unique and exclusive rewards by completing specific Daily and Weekly Conquest Objectives called Priority Objectives. If you are a Subscriber, you will earn bonus rewards.
The entire Galactic Seasons system is Legacy-wide. This includes the levels you progress through and rewards you earn. The items you earn will be added to your collections, which is a great way to spread them to the other characters in your Legacy.
Both Subscribers and Free-to-play players have access to the Galactic Seasons system in SWTOR. To see your progress, open up the Daily Login Rewards window and navigate to the second tab at the top.
If you are new to the game, you may want to first check out what is the Galactic Seasons feature in SWTOR and how it works – a massive guide that will explain every part of this system.
Galactic Season 7 Highlights
This segment will showcase the most interesting items that you can earn if you participate in GS7. Below the Highlights section, you will find a more detailed overview of what item is available where and how you can get it.
Bounty Brokers Event Extended for all of GS7
Since the theme of GS7 is “The Greatest Hunt”, the Bounty Brokers Association will be active for the entirety of the Season, instead of being only 1 week per month. GS7 lasts from August 20th, 2024 to January 6th, 2025.
It does not appear that the event itself got any changes, which means it will still take an absolutely preposterous and completely unreasonable amount of time to get even a single item.
By the end of GS7, if you have a toon that already has all 5 Kingpin Weeklies unlocked and do the maximum 12 Bounties each week on a single toon, you’ll get 480 Bounty Contracts. That’s 1 less than you need enough to buy every single item from the Freelance Gear Merchant.
You’ll also have to endure 560 loading screens (Fleet ▶ Planet 1 ▶ Planet 2 ▶ Fleet) on top of all the walking and cutscenes.
GS7 Feature: Dark vs Light World Bosses
Unlike past seasons where we got something more noteworthy, like a companion or Stronghold, there isn’t really a featured reward with GS7. Instead, the Dark vs Light bosses are back and drop the Dark and Light Tokens that will let you purchase a bunch of different cosmetic items from the DvL vendors on the fleet, including a few new ones.
Alongside the return of DvL bosses, you’ll find 3 “new” armor sets added to the vendors. Technically there are 4 distinct sets, but the Dark Side ones are just color variants.
They’re all retouched versions of existing sets with small components that are unavailable on similar sets found elsewhere in the game. All of these “new” use the same pair of actually new Gloves. Sadly, they forgot to attach the cuff to the Bracer rather than the Glove.
All of the non-Dread | Righteous armor sets cost 104 Dark | Light Tokens total. The Belt and Bracers cost 12 Tokens each, while the rest cost 16.
Dire Overlord | Dire Taskmaster Armor Sets
There is no difference between the Dire Overlord and Dire Taskmaster sets beyond their base color, at least that I can discern.
Honored Adept | Honored Saberist
The Honored Adept | Saberist sets similar-looking, but different sets. Notably, the Honored Adept chest is the same one worn by Ashara Zavros (Sith Inquisitor Companion). The Honored Saberist looks cooler though in my opinion.
I wonder if they’re hinting at Ashara being one of the next Date Night companions…
GS7 Mounts
There is a new creature mount with 2 variations in both color and (horse) armor. There are 2 new speederbike vehicle mounts as well.
Brynjak Creature Mounts
The Brynjak is an angry ol’ critter that is reminiscent of the other creatures in Star Wars like the Bolrada, Devourer, and Rombuk. The mounts vary in terms of fur color and amount of armor.
Their names distinguish their apparent employment status. It seems the armored are used for battle and hunting as opposed to the cranky ones being used for regular riding. They look neat, but I think I’m gonna stick with Bruce, my Northeastern Eyto Eyto.
You receive the Temperamental and Armored Brynjaks from the GS7 Subscriber Reward Track at levels 1 and 50, respectively. You can purchase the Furious and Huntstalker Brynjaks from Ki’at Thavo for 3 GS Tokens each.
Dune-“mover” Speeders
There are two speederbike mounts, the Dunetreader and Dunestrider Dragon that you get on the GS7 Subscriber Reward Track at levels 21 and 100, respectively. Normally, the basic vehicle mount is given at level 1, but not this time.
The Dunestrider Dragon gives you 110% movement speed at Speeder Piloting Rank I. Neither mentions having Mount Flourish or Dynamic Mount Colors.
GS7 Armor Sets
There are 2 full armor sets that make you look like someone who lives in a little house on the prairie somewhere out in the Unknown Regions.
Leather Armor Set
You can obtain all the pieces from the Brynjak Leather Armor Set from the GS7 Subscriber Rewards Track from lvls 10-40.
Superior Hunter
You can obtain all of the pieces from the Superior Hunter’s Armor Set on the GS7 Subscriber Reward Track from lvls 65-95.
Look at those space cowboy boots! THEY HAVE SPURS!
GS7 Armors Dyed
Pictured here are both armor sets with a high-contrast dye from the CM so that you can see which parts are dyed with the primary (Medium Green) and secondary (Deep Blue) colors and which parts don’t dye at all.
Overall, I’d say they dye quite well, though you’re not dyin’ none a that there Brynjak leather, you VARMINT!!!
GS7 Dyes
There are 3 dyes available on the subscriber track. This time around, there are 2 regular dyes that each come in a stack of 10 and 1 enhanced dye that you can only get a single copy of per server. Ever.
The regular dyes are also purchasable from Ki’at Thavo the GS Seasonal Rewards vendor on the fleet for 2 GS Tokens, but there is no indication that the enhanced dye will ever be available, so use it wisely.
Pictured on the Mythosaur Hunter armor set, chosen for its consistently exceptional depiction of dyes.
Deep Brown and Medium Blue Dye
Deep Brown and Medium Red
Metallic Brass and Metallic Copper Dye Module
Check out our Enhanced Dyes Catalog for previews of all shiny dyes in the game.
GS7 Unique Helmets
There are 4 additional helmets available on the Subscriber Reward Track, one of which was clearly inspired by Boushh, Princess Leia’s bounty hunter cover identity in Return of the Jedi. Vengeance’s Vendetta combines both the Hunter’s Headwrap and Vicious Visor.
The Hunter’s Headwrap seems like something the Sand People would wear, while the Vicious Visor evokes the medical droids found throughout the galaxy during the Skywalker era, including at the Emperor Palpatine Surgical Reconstruction Center.
GS7 Weapons
There are 2 sets of weapons with practically identical models but have distinct colorways. The color difference makes the named set look newer and cleaner, while the Prey Stalker’s set looks used and dirty, with additional wear and tear.
The Prey Stalker’s Weapons are all black with gray with wrappings darkened by exposure to the elements. The named set replaces the gray metal with bits painted white or brown, and the wrappings look like they were applied more recently.
The Blaster Pistol and Sniper Rifle from the named set also feature haphazardly placed laser pointers, despite the presence of dedicated, unused pointers below the barrels attached to the Prey Stalker versions of the Blaster and Sniper Rifles.
All weapons in both sets use a default yellow color crystal that governs the lights and beam, though no crystal is included in the weapon.
The Prey Stalker’s weapons are available on the Free Rewards Track from lvls 20-50, while the named sets are available on the Subscriber Rewards Track from lvls 55-91.
GS7 Stronghold Decorations
There are 7 decos available in GS7, all of which are part of the Subscriber Rewards Track including several thrones and other paraphernalia you might find in a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
The Joonga is the most noteworthy inclusion, it’s the space hookah thing that we see Jabba the Hutt smoking. Unfortunately, we don’t have a good idea of its size at the time of publishing.
GS7 New Titles and Stronghold Labels
There are a bunch of new titles available. Since they stopped doing pointless Reputation tracks for each season, there’s a more systematic approach to distributing Titles and SH Labels. You buy Character Titles from Ki’at Thavo for 3 GS Tokens each, and then get 1 Legacy Title and SH Label in both the free and sub tracks.
Type | Title | Source |
---|---|---|
Legacy Title | Carbonite Enthusiast | Free Track lvl 70 |
Legacy Title | Hunter | Sub Track lvl 41 |
Character Title | Bounty Wrangler | Ki’at Thavo 3 GS Tokens |
Character Title | Hutt’s Favorite | Ki’at Thavo 3 GS Tokens |
Character Title | Bane of the Outer Rim | Ki’at Thavo 3 GS Tokens |
Stronghold Label | Hive of Scum and Villainy | Free Track lvl 55 |
Stronghold Label | Bounty Hunter’s Guild | Sub Track lvl 24 |
GS7 Special Rewards
There are a few other noteworthy rewards that don’t fall under a category that contains multiple items. These include a Flair, a Pet, a Companion Customization, and Bubble Bombs.
GS7 Hunter’s Mark Flair
There’s a new Flair for GS7 called Hunter’s Mark, which represents you as one of those little Tracking Pucks shown by bounty hunters in recent shows. It’s a pretty fantastic idea if you ask me, though it’s a shame that it’s a cosmetic item instead of PvP gameplay.
You receive the Flair: Hunter’s Mark for completing all of the achievements associated with Galactic Season 7.
White Lothcat Kitten
We’re getting another ADORABLE Lothcat Kitten, this time in white! You can unlock it at level 94 on the GS7 Subscriber Reward Track.
B3-S1 “Bessie” Companion Customization
The Basilisk Prototype Droid Companion has another customization, which you can get at lvl 83 on the GS7 Subscriber Reward Track.
Bubble Bombs
Some of you may overjoyed to learn that there’s a new kind of Sparkle Powder called a Bubble Bomb. Sadly, they’re Bound to Legacy, so you can’t sell them for exorbitant prices give them to you friends.
No Story, No Currency, No Reputation
Broadsword has finally given up on including an embarrassing excuse for a story, currency, or reputation in Galactic Seasons. There is still technically mission unlock, but you just go to the Minboosa District on Hutta where a bounty hunter tells you in a brief KOTOR-style cutscene to do BBA Contracts. That’s it. That’s the whole thing.
Now if only they could assist me in evicting Vagol Oss and his fellow squatters from Copero, my Garden of Stillness.
The security guards from G.A.M.E., recommended to me by PH4-LNX, have proven themselves to be utterly ineffective.
Full Rewards List for Galactic Season 7
Here is the entire rewards track for GS7. All items that can be unlocked in your Collections cost 80 Cartel Coins each. Please note that decos, dyes, and bubbles cannot be unlocked in Collections.
