Learn how to unlock and complete The Last of His Kind Alliance Alert in SWTOR and how your choices affect the mission outcome – the opportunity to recruit or reject the Talz Broonmark.

Requirements to Unlock it
The Last of His Kind is an alert mission that you can unlock in SWTOR. It becomes available after you complete Chapter XIV from Knights of the Fallen Empire.
You will also need to complete the side mission To Find a Findsman, which unlocks during Chapter IX from Knights of the Fallen Empire.
Class Dependency
The Last of His Kind alert is accessible to all players with any combat style and origin story of both factions. There are a few key differences depending on your origin story, but everyone gets the choice to recruit Broonmark in the end.
If you have played the Sith Warrior origin story, you will be able to convince Broonmark to join you without spilling blood.
For everyone else, you have a light or dark side choice to make during the mission that will determine if you can recruit Broonmark or not.
Mission Walkthrough
The Alert appears in your Companions and Contacts window. The contact that sends it to you is Hylo Visz. To start the mission, click on the purple button at the bottom of the panel to “Travel to Alert Location”.
This will teleport you to Alderaan where you will investigate series of crash sites and piece together clues. The image below shows your entire progress from start to finish on the map of the Juran Mountains on Alderaan.
All locations for this mission are very clearly marked on your map. You need to stand on top of the marker to find clickable objects or to automatically trigger an event.
The Motorcade Site
The first stop is a few steps north along the Lowlands Road, where you spawn first. In the Juran Mountains, you will find a crash site.
Investigate the convoy by interacting with the glowing-in-blue speeder. Exhaust all options in the dialogue and at the end, piece together the information.
You discover that the attack was recent. The Senator’s convoy was attacked. The only option is to follow an off-road path through the wilderness.
Search for Survivors
Follow the path leading up to the northwest until you find two bodies next to a tree on the left-hand side at the top of the hill. Check the Bowcasted next to the wookies to trigger the investigation via another KOTOR-style cinematic.
Once again, exhaust all options and piece together your analysis to progress through this objective.
Follow the Trail
Continue along the road leading up northwest. The marker will change a couple of times and will move further ahead, guiding you towards the right direction. You can avoid confrontation with the enemy NPCs at the bottom of the large staircase leading up to House Rist.
Make it up the hill, run past the bottom of the staircase and walk down the hill towards a crossroads where you will find a Courier NPC. Talk to him to learn more of the story.
Pursue the Attacker
Head east, through the tunnel, past the dual metal bridge and look for another crashed speeder to your left.
Go through the dialogue options to investigate the large and small speeders as well as the body of a wookiee in the grass nearby.
Confront the Assailant
Follow the road east and then north. On the left side, you will notice a house with a green barrier – personal phase entrance. This is where you will find Broonmark and complete the mission.
Dark vs Light side Choices and Consequences
If your character has played through the Sith Warrior origin story, you will know Broonmark and he will recognize you. This is one of the original companions to the origin class. Broonmark will be willing to join you without having to spill blood.
If you are not a Sith Warrior and choose the Light Side option during the cutscene: “Please, there has to be a way to settle this peacefully“, or if you choose to attack Broonmark right away, you will have to defeat him and he will not be willing to join your Alliance.
After you defeat him, you may attempt to convince him, but you will fail anyway. There’s no way to recruit Broonmark if you do not let him kill the wookiee (unless you are a Sith Warrior).
If you are not a Sith Warrior and choose the Dark Side option during the cutscene: “Go ahead. You’re of much more interest to me than this sniveling rug anyway“, Broonmark will be willing to become your companion.
Even after chosing the Dark Side option, you will have one more chance to reject Broonmark if you chang your mind.
There are no lasting and key consequences for the main story of the game going forward from your decision here. It is a personal matter of whether you want the Talz as your companion and what are you willing to pay to get him.
Mission Rewards
After the events on Alderaan, return to Hylo Visz to complete the mission and get your rewards. If you allowd Broonmark to kill the Senator, she will not be happy, but this will not affect your relationship with her in any way after this conversation.
The rewards from the mission are standard and similar to what you get for all Alliance Alerts in SWTOR:
- Credits
- Experience (unless you are at level cap)
- Dark or Light Side Points (depending on your choices)
- Influence with Broonmark (depending on your choices)
- 2x Locked Supply Crate: Military Equipment
- Choice of a single Rank 6 Companion Gift out of two available
