SWTOR Wreckage on Dantooine 7.8.1 Achievements Guide

Endonae by Endonae|

At the Crash Site on Dantooine, there are a whole bunch of unique achievements that got added with Update 7.8.1. We’ll show you how to get every single one of them!

A Botanical Mystery I [Hidden]

Discover research notes on an unknown botanical species.

There’s a datapad near Doctor Armaxa (if he’s there) at the Sporefall Forward Research Camp that alludes to this secret achievement.

If you head over to the little ortolan’s camp in the northern alcove of Sporefall where the Sample Collection: Pterathki encounter takes place. The encounter does not need to be active for this to work.

You have to walk into the tent, right-click on the macrobinoclars to obtain the Handheld Scanners, and mouse over the datapad to get the achievement to pop.

The Handheld Scanners are a regular green rarity item that appear in your inventory after you click on them. Stick them on your quickbar for easy access as you hunt down the elusive Lurak Thistle scattered throughout Dantooine’s canopies.

A Botanical Mystery II [Hidden]

Discover the locations of unusual flowers in the Dantooine Crash Site.

There are 8 unusual flowers scattered throughout the wreckage on Dantooine. You get hints on their locations after noticing one with the Handheld Scanners.

We have enclosed each location in an expandable section associated with its hint, so you don’t get spoiled if you want to find them yourself!

You can find this flower above to some Orobird Fledglings along the southeastern path connecting the Main Research Camp to the Crashed Ship Perimeter.

No, it’s not the one above the tent where you found the binoculars near a bunch of Pterathki that I interpreted as the fledgling birds.

This flower is located high above the Sporefall Forward Camp. You can spot it from the ground, but the Handheld Scanners might not be able to pick it up unless you reach the top level with the Repulsor Pads.

The Repulsor Pads are passively accessible here if you’ve unlocked them on that toon on Ruhnuk as part of the scavenger hunt missions that lead to the Datacron there.

This flower is dangling above Professor Hoppington’s froggy brethren in the northeastern alcove in Sporefall. This is the same region with Sample Collection: Ginx.

This flower is hiding in some hanging roots at the entrance to the Glacial Trespass Cavern, near the Hollow Frost encounter.

This flower is feeling impotent next to the central Rootmass in the Glacial Trespass Cavern. It’s at about 10 or 11 o’clock if you’re looking at the biggest flower in the whole game.

This flower somehow managed to grow right next to an active lavafall past the big bridge in the Lava Cave at Geothermal Disruption.

This flower is growing near the waterfalls at the acid lake in the middle of Geothermal Disruption, north of the Geothermal Disruption Forward Camp, where the Acid Trip encounter takes place.

This flower is growing out of an opening, along with some hanging roots, on the Jannimak near the Main Research Camp. You can see it with your Handheld Scanner next to the shuttle that brings you down to the planet.

Advanced Research: Geothermal Disruption [Hidden]

Once you reach Legend rank with G.S.I., you can purchase Advanced Research: Geothermal from the main reputation vendor that grants permanent access to use Ejected Sludge Containers within Geothermal Disruption.

Clicking on any Ejected Sludge Container after unlocking Advanced Research: Geothermal will grant this achievement.

Advanced Research: Glacial Trespass [Hidden]

Once you reach Legend rank with G.S.I., you can purchase Advanced Research: Glacial from the main reputation vendor that grants permanent access to use Supercooled Crystaline Shards within Glacial Trespass.

Clicking on any Supercooled Crystaline Shards after unlocking Advanced Research: Glacial will grant this achievement.

Advanced Research: Sporefall [Hidden]

Once you reach Legend rank with G.S.I., you can purchase Advanced Research: Sporefall from the main reputation vendor that grants permanent access to use Spore-Coated Masses within Sporefall.

Clicking on any Spore-Coated Mass after unlocking Advanced Research: Sporefall will grant this achievement.

Beast Friends

Doctor Hoppington and Professor Whiskers send their warmest regards.

  1. Pacify Doctor Hoppington 25 times
  2. Pacify Professor Whiskers 25 times

It goes without saying, but Doctor Hoppington and Professor Whiskers are the unforgettable research assistants for Doctor SPORES during both Sporefall transition encounters.

Expansive Research [Hidden]

Collect research material from each expanded biome in the ecotones.

  1. Crystallized Toxins
  2. Cryo Grenade Geologic Samples
  3. Dormant Spores
  4. Infected Flora

Check out the Ecotone Buffs section in our guide on how to make Wreckage on Dantooine easier for more details on how these buffs work, but only 2 can spawn per core cycle.

Feeling Weird

Have all three spore types from Light Sporefall on you at one time.

  1. Numbing Spores
  2. Poisonous Spores
  3. Debilitating Spores

You will almost certainly get this automatically while trying to do the Wreckage on Dantooine mission.

Filthy Fighter

Defeat 100 hostile enemies in the Geothermal Disruption while suffering from Toxic Contamination.

Toxic Contamination is the debuff you get for standing in the water in Geothermal Disruption without Hazard Mitigation, so you just have to defeat 100 enemies while standing in the water.

The quickest and easiest way to do this is to do Graul Graveyard and focus on adds rather than the boss at the end. With a rank 50 healer companion, you can stand in the water until you get 10 stacks of the debuff, but you will probably run out of HP if you hit 13 stacks.

Frostbitten Finisher

Defeat 5 Cryo-Nester Broodguards in the Glacial Trespass while suffering from Freezing.

Cryo-Nester Broodguards are Strong (silver) enemies that can appear when you destroy eggs during the Frigid Swarm encounter. Defeat 5 of them while you have the extra debuff for reaching 10 stacks of Cryogenic Saturation and you’ll get this achievement.

You can’t get either debuff if you’re protected by Hazard Mitigation Module for Glacial Trespass.

Level Five Geological Aptitude [Hidden]

It really is a nice boulder.

Professor Calvaz left a note at his precious rock on the edge of the Main Research Camp. You’ll need to reach Level 5 with Professor Calvaz to get this achievement.

You can find his esteemed Level 5 badge lying on the big bridge in the Lava Cave in Geothermal Disruption.

Once you click on it, you’ll just have a buff. If you visit the primal rock with said buff, you’ll get the achievement. The buff persists until you leave the planet, so you can flex on the plebeians without such incredible aptitude for geology.

Major Malfunction [Hidden]

Found the Abandoned Control Room. Not on purpose, of course.

One would think you’d have a random chance of ending up in the Abandoned Control Room when using the Maintenance Access Tunnels, but I’ve used well over a hundred Maintenance Access Codes since the update dropped and gotten nothing.

It seems you can obtain a special type of Maintenance Access Code called Unusual Access Codes, but it’s unclear how to get them. It’s possible it can drop from the Orbital Core, but none of that sounds like a malfunction.

Melt the Messenger

When it spawns, defeat the Cryo-Dominator Droid within 70 seconds during the Dynamic Encounter “Iceweeds.”

The final objective of the “Iceweeds” encounter requires you to defeat a champion Cryo-Dominator Droid. This should be very doable with all the buffs you can pick up that make Wreckage on Dantooine easier.

Since the HP of enemies at the Crash Site increases dramatically each time a new person engages it in combat, if you aren’t great at DPS (or aren’t a DPS at all) and want this achievement, just wait until the droid gets down below like 3% and then hit it, since it only doubles the remaining health.

Iceweeds is only available while Glacial Trespass is at level 1.

No Sense of Direction

How is it even possible for people to get lost this frequently?

Locate and rescue each of the scientists when they get lost in their respective biomes on Dantooine. These guys return to camp after a single person finds them and turn into a vendor until the Orbital Core resets.

It’s unclear what causes them to get lost in the first place, so this achievement is gonna take quite a while to get. I have gotten all the meta-achievements and only seen 2 myself. Here are the facts:

  • An individual scientist can get lost outside of their “home” biome
  • An individual scientist always returns to become a vendor at the biome where you found them
  • Scientists can appear at select dynamic encounters in their biome, though they are not lost when this happens
  • An individual scientist can get lost at multiple different locations, potentially only outside of their “home” biome

For example, Doctor Maniks’ home biome is Glacial Trespass, but I have seen her as a vendor in Sporefall and personally rescued her from Geothermal Disruption.

You can turn on Nameplates on Friendly NPCs in the settings to more easily see them from a distance.

Please share an image with the location of a lost scientist if you find one! We’re working on adding these locations to our Dantooine Crash Site Interactive Map.

Doctor Gentra (TBD)

We have not yet documented a location for Doctor Gentra, but her home camp is in Geothermal Disruption.

Professor Naul (TBD)

We have not yet documented a lost location for Professor Naul, but his home camp is in Geothermal Disruption.

Doctor Maniks (Geothermal)

You may find Doctor Maniks hiding behind a big tree at the northern edge of Geothermal Disruption, near Caustic Cascade.

Doctor Sanner (Sporefall)

We have spotted Doctor Sanner as a vendor in both Sporefall and Geothermal Disruption, so it’s likely you can find her someplace in either biome. Her home camp is in Glacial Trespass.

Doctor Lamuna (Glacial)

You may find Doctor Lamuna near the corridor connecting the east and west sides of Glacial Trespass next to an Unknown Adrenal.

Doctor Armaxa (TBD)

We have not yet documented a lost location for Doctor Armaxa, but his home camp is in Sporefall.

Doctor Olobus (Glacial Trespass)

We have spotted Doctor Olobus as a vendor in Glacial Trespass, so it’s likely you’ll find him someplace there. His home camp is in Sporefall.

Doctor Losoo (Glacial Trespass)

We have spotted Doctor Losoo repairing a console at the Glacial Trespass camp, so it’s likely you can find him somewhere here. His home camp is Sporefall.

Doctor Deld (TBD)

We have not yet documented a location for Doctor Deld, but his home camp is in Sporefall.

Spore Thing [Hidden]

Attack and defeat a non-hostile Spore-Tending Unit.

Spore-Tending Units are the champion probe droids floating around Sporefall, destroying the lives of the inattentive and uninoculated.

For this achievement, you’ll need to defeat a non-hostile Spore-Tending Unit, so its nameplate needs to be yellow when you aggro it, not red. I believe they only spawn when Sporefall is at levels 1 and 2.

Spore-Tending Units apply the Heavy Sporefall debuff that will zero out your health bar if you remain remotely close to it for more than a few seconds, but if you have the Friend+ rank Hazard Mitigation active for Sporefall, you are immune to its effects, allowing you to fight them.

They only do one ability, Energy Surge, that is just an AoE pulse with a 1.5s cast. They will spam it, but you can interrupt it.

These droids have a ridiculous amount of health, 8 million, and it increases dramatically with each additional player who engages. Each person who participates gets a drop that lets you build a Purifying Tower, and it takes 4 people with the drop to build a single tower.

If you do it solo, I highly recommend getting all the buffs and using a ranged healer companion. You won’t take much damage if you have the survivability buffs, but you need to make sure your healer companion isn’t in melee range. They can’t survive too many Energy Surges.

Thawbringer

Burn 50 Frostblooms or Resonating Frostbulbs in the Glacial Trespass.

Frostblooms are one of the main objectives of the Frostbloom Sweep encounter, while Resonating Frostbulbs are part of the Hollow Frost encounter. It’s a lot faster to clear out the Frostblooms and you can get the Frostbloom deco for doing so.

The giant Frostveins and central Rootmass in Root Cause do not count towards this achievement.

This is Fine

Activate 5 Thermal Regulators without a Coolant Pack during the Dynamic Encounter “Core Overload.”

It’s easiest to do this as a Mercenary | Commando because you can rely on Kolto Overload with Kolto Surge | Adrenaline Rush with Adrenal Surge to keep your health up the whole time. Relying on a healer buddy will also make it a lot more doable.

Since there are only 4 Thermal Regulators you need to click for Core Overload, you’ll need to do the encounter at least twice, or 3 times if you’re doing it with a buddy. You do not need to do all of them in one fell swoop (it’s impossible), nor do you need to survive after you’ve finished clicking.

Violent Tendencies

Defeat 25 Spore-Tending Units.

There’s also an achievement for defeating a whopping 25 Spore-Tending Units! If you could defeat just 3 more (28) in one fell swoop, you could install Spore Purifiers at all 7 locations in Sporefall, but you won’t have enough time to do that.

The towers disappear when the Orbital Core resets and the Spore-Tending Droids take a few minutes to respawn, even at Level 3. Still, if you do it in a group of 4, you can protect all of Sporefall after defeating only 4 droids.

Well, Well, Well [Hidden]

The wells of Dantooine hold some secrets, at least.

The well near the QT point and Unruly Nesters encounter has a little explorable area in it now! Dive in!

I’m dismayed that there isn’t a Datacron down there…

Whiteout Warrior

Defeat 100 hostile enemies in the Glacial Trespass while suffering from Cryogenic Saturation.

Cryogenic Saturation is the blizzard debuff you get in the Glacial Trespass biome while you aren’t protected by Hazard Mitigation, so you just have to defeat 100 enemies while in the blizzards. Keep moving to keep those stacks low!

It’s easiest to do this with the little weak enemies in the Frigid Swarm encounter.

Endonae

Endonae

Endonae is a passionate gamer who's particularly fond of challenging action RPGs and open world games with visceral combat. The closer it is to being a Soulslike, the better. Ranged casters, particularly of the energy or elemental variety, are his bread and butter. Lightsabers are pretty cool, too.
