Crimson Desert: Familiar Curses (House of Healing) Walkthrough

Adrian by Adrian|

The Familiar Curses quest in Crimson Desert requires you to get inside the House of Healing. Here is how to do that with the different methods available.

Familiar Curses is the last part of the Homestead questline of Chapter III. Since this is part of the main story, this objective will pop up in your map the moment you finish the previous quest, which is Return of the Comrade.

  • Chapter: 3. Homestead
  • Main Questline: Familiar Curses

For Familiar Curses, you must look for a fellow Greymane in the House of Healing, a medical care facility that is suspiciously invested in not letting any outsider in. Not even the family members of the patients.

There are two ways to get inside the House of Healing. The easiest one is to purchase a robe from a shady guard for 10.00 silver, but that is a considerable amount of money just to get inside. The second (and best) option is to simply sneak inside without getting caught. It’s actually very simple once you know the route.

Method 1: Sneak in

Your starting point is the bridge, in front of the two big guards. Take the road on the left side and follow it.

There’s a vendor a few meters ahead; you can interact with him, but it’s not necessary for this quest.

Some interesting items he sells are:

  • Azurite (5 Silver)
  • Fine Fishing Rod Blueprint (10 Silver)
  • Disguise Cloak (20.88 Silver)
  • Camouflage Outfit (23.74 Silver)

Stop the moment you see a cart on the right side of the road. Then climb the rocks on the left. There is a guard at a medium distance. Make sure to crouch immediately after getting to the top.

Climb through the building all the way to the roof. Then walk to the right side, and you will see the courtyard.

Drop down on the closest corner to you. Your way in is exactly under you.

Crouch and then cross to the inner side of the building. The game was a bit buggy for me on this part. Sometimes Kliff would lean on the wall or couldn’t pass. If the same happens to you just keep trying.

There’s a guard in the room in front and another guard in the room on the left. Be careful not to catch their attention. If they see you, it’s over. Turn right and walk to the end of the hall. There’s a group of patients screaming. Walk over until a cinematic triggers.

Now that you’ve found your buddy Yann, it’s time to get out. At this point, the guards will start attacking the patients. They even appear as enemies on your map, but don’t attack them. Since you’re here unauthorized, it’s still considered a crime, and a bounty will be placed on your head. The worst thing is that if you attack a guard and someone reports you, you go back to the last checkpoint.

Just follow Yann to the cart and enjoy the view on your way back to Yann’s camp. After successfully getting there, the quest will be finished.

Method 2: Buying your way in

There are two things you can buy to get inside the Healing House without being bothered. The first one is the Halssius Outfit that is sold by a guard located on the East side. It is priced at 10 silver.

The second one is the St. Halssius Visitor Pass, sold at Hernand’s church for also 10 silver. I haven’t found a specific benefit for using either one, so you can use whichever you prefer. Though I really suggest that you sneak inside and save that money.

Follow the rocky path to the building on the farthest side of this area. You can use the well as a reference point and the people coming out of there wearing silver Visione items.

Once there, simply go upstairs and find the same group of patients screaming. Everything else will happen exactly the same. The difference that you can now hit and kill the guards without being labeled as a criminal.

With Yann safe, you must return to Marius to begin the next main questline: The Face Behind the Mask. Despite the fact that Yann grabbed an Abyss Artifact from the House of Healing overseer, this mission does not grant a reward.
