In a strange and surprising turn of events, the Star Wars and Marvel universes are colliding in the first-ever crossover.
Star Wars | Marvel: Hope Assembles will be a five-part limited comic book series that releases in January 2027. The first issue will launch in January 2027, with each following issue dropping every month. The fifth and final issue will arrive in May 2027.
In this unique story, a spell shatters reality and ends up making heroes and villains of both franchises team up for an epic fight on Earth-616.
Imagine Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie fighting side by side with Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man (and others) in an epic battle against Doctor Doom, Thanos, and Darth Vader.
Kevin Smith will write the five-issue limited series, with art by David Marquez (Uncanny X-Men).

While the news of this crossover is very intriguing, I can’t help but wonder how they’re going to balance the power scale between both franchises. Both Star Wars and Marvel fans are incredibly passionate about their favorite characters’ power and personality being properly represented in all media.
Comic books normally give us a wider margin to explore these power scales because they can happen in alternate realities, dreams, or anything around similar themes. Can Wolverine beat The Hulk? Well, the answer heavily depends on which story you read.
However, this doesn’t apply to this one-of-a-kind occasion. Let’s say that Darth Vader duels Thor. Whatever happens here will likely be used as the right answer for any debates. Even if people weren’t even thinking about it, that’s going to change after January.
It’s going to be something very fun and probably strange to read, but I’m looking forward to this event. I am definitely biased towards Star Wars characters being the center of the story, but I’d be sad if Marvel characters were sidelined or done dirty.
