George Lucas officially opens the Museum of Narrative Art in L.A.; the new issue of The Book of Boba Fett’s Marvel adaptation is out, and an upcoming Omnibus (Manga) to celebrate 50 years of A New Hope.
Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is now open
Last Saturday, George Lucas and Mellody Hobson hosted the Opening Night for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. This museum’s purpose is to honor visual storytelling and the multiple arts involved in it.
As you’d expect, this event had the presence of some of the most acclaimed people in the industry: Mark Hamill, Steven Spielberg, Bob Iger, Greta Gerwig, Christopher Nolan, Peter Jackson, Guillermo Del Toro, Robert De Niro, Ron Howard, and many more.
While having so many of the people we admire in a single place is rare, the most important news is that the museum is finally open to the public.
Some of the things you can explore at the museum are:
- 11 acres of park and gardens designed by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA, which create much-needed public green space for South Los Angeles, serving as a community gathering space and featuring 10 monumental outdoor sculptures of narrative art
- A film program with continuous drop-in screenings in two 299-seat theaters, the Robert Flaherty Theater and Slavko Vorkapich Theater
- A free public research library housing extensive general research collections, special collections, rare books, and archives, open to all visitors free of charge
- State-of-the-art educational and public programming spaces designed to bring storytelling to life for all ages
- A dedicated retail space with merchandise related to visual storytelling, inspired by highlights of the museum’s collections, designed and produced exclusively for the store
- A signature destination restaurant, Skywalker Grill
The museum is open to the public six days a week:
- Monday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Tuesday, closed
- Wednesday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Thursday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Friday, 10:00 am – 9:00 pm
- Saturday, 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
- Sunday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Museum admission is $25 for adults and $21 for seniors age 65 and over. Admission is free for children 17 and under, members, active-duty military, and LM37 passholders. Memberships to the Lucas Museum start at $140 and offer unlimited admission, priority access, and previews.
A New Hope gets a manga adaptation
As part of the Star Wars 50th anniversary celebration, A New Hope will receive the omnibus treatment by putting together all 4 Volumes of the manga adaptation of Star Wars: A New Hope by Hisao Tamaki. It will have 352 pages.
The official release date is March 16, 2027. The cover is yet to be revealed, but it’s very likely that we’ll get a new one to commemorate this special year.

The Book of Boba Fett #2 (of 7)
