The SWTOR Launcher issues are various, interesting and… weird!
The SWTOR HQ at EA’s Helper section has done a good job at combining many of the possible problems players have or may experience with the launcher of the game. Their collection is quite extensive and contains well described possible paths for fixing the issues and recovering the launcher. We all know that the last resort is always a full reinstall and/or removing the ST (Bitraider). I do not recommend you do it. If the default settings of the SWTOR Launcher work for you, do not try to fix them.

And… if you are seeing this one message in particular, do not attempt anything. It happened to me yesterday. I decided not to rush and reinstall, like I’d usually do when I encounter a launcher error. My game installs very quickly, thanks to my fast connection, so I prefer that over trying to find the solution.
So, without changing a single thing, I left it like so until this morning. Fired up the launcher and all was running smooth and normal.
The point is, you never know what might have happened. Especially if you are certain you didn’t break something, by manually editing files and/or removing Bitraider, for example, you should always consider the possibility of Bioware screwing up and give them a bit of time to fix whatever they have broken. Usually it happens quick and they alarm the players via their social networks and on the forums. Whenever there’s something major, you can rely on my and my website also to always report it!
Good luck and don’t be discouraged to play the game just because a silly Launcher issue. Every MMO has them :)
