SWTOR Umbara

Crisis on Umbara and ALL New SWTOR Flashpoints will have Solo Mode

SWTOR Game Producer Keith Kanneg announced that the new upcoming “Crisis onUmbara” Flashpoint, that will be part of SWTOR Game Update 5.4 (August), will have Solo Mode as well as the expected Veteran and Master Modes. In fact, the good news is that any and all new Flashpoints released from now on will have these 3 modes available. Guaranteed and confirmed. So… Solo Operations next, perhaps? :)))

Now, does that mean that any future Flashpoints will always be tied to the main storyline of the game. That’s what we will have to just wait and see :)))

The Flashpoint on Umbara was rumored for quite some time until it was finally confirmed in Keith’s SWTOR Roadmap for the Summer of 2017.

While sharing updates, let me tell you a couple more things.

First – the team is currently entirely focused on bringing back as many of the classic companions as possible, rather than creating and introducing new ones.

In terms of new characters vs returning ones, the team is 100% prioritizing returning characters for the time being, but that doesn’t mean we could never introduce someone new, especially if it helps to solve a major gap like this.

And Second – Bioware’s numbers proved what we all saw on Iokath – the new idea about Open World PvP with Vehicles didn’t work as well as the devs were hoping for. Here’s what Charles Boyd said:

Our goal was absolutely to encourage Open World PvP on Iokath. One of our main motivations for including stuff like playable vehicles and Op bosses and Player loot was to make PvP on Iokath a unique and interesting experience compared to Outlaw’s Den or Ilum. And, yeah, it just doesn’t seem to have grabbed folks’ interest.

I don’t think that forcing Players to participate in PvP is the answer – SWTOR just isn’t that kind of game – so we need to look elsewhere for solutions. Presumably better incentives would be a great way to start, but I’d love to hear your thoughts

I wonder, could it be because of the high price for purchase these mounts had or maybe because piloting a Walker in KOTET was fun, but doing PvP in a mount with such limited mobility and arsenal, isn’t the SWTOR PvPer’s dream exactly? What do you think?
