The chaos that has been ruling the official SWTOR forums in the past few days is about to end as Star Wars The Old Republic game director Keith Kanneg announced on the forums new info about the upcoming Spring Roadmap.
He also confirmed what we all have been expecting to hear – Game Update 6.0 is coming! The Spring Roadmap will be ready around the middle of February, as expected and will give us a direction and information about the game’s upcoming new content for the next 3 months (90 days).
Speculation: This maybe means that we have 5.8 around end of February or middle of March, bringing us the new Flashpoint and Theron’s story conclusion. Then later around late April and early May we may get a 5.9 with the final 5th boss of the Gods from the Machine operation on Iokath.
Keith, sadly, said he is not ready yet to discuss the Summer plays for SWTOR and beyond. He can’t also tell us anything about 6.0, but his words can at least serve as a valid proof and confirmation that a new expansion is happening!
I’m not ready to discuss all of the summer events and beyond that we’re planning. And, I definitely will not provide any information on what’s included in 6.0
. So, as always, hang in there, and we’ll provide you with what’s going on with SWTOR!
Speculation: It is likely that the expansion may come in May in line with the new Han Solo Movie. If the expansion is planned for the regular Fall release, then we have a whole Summer of… unknown activities. Dark vs Light version 2, perhaps?
UPDATE: With the release of the Summer Roadmap, Bioware revealed their plans for new content and features coming to the game in June through September and a few hints at what comes in 2019! Take a look: SWTOR Summer Roadmap 2018
It might be the Anthem and Bioware general discussion that an article on Kotaku spawned 2 days ago or perhaps it was just the time for a fresh update, but we finally got a confirmation of the new expansion, that many of us were expecting even in 2017 (well, I was :P). In any case, if you have missed the hot topic and big discussion about it, check out the video I have linked below.
