The Star Wars: The Old Republic Public Test Server (PTS) is once again up and running. Bioware uploaded the new Vandin Huttball PvP map for players to freely test it. One new distinctive difference for this map compared to the previous Huttball maps is that you can fall off the side of the map (get pushed most likely). There are also new traps laying around, wating to spring and catch you.

The devs are also planning two play tests this Weekend. The first one is tonight from 21 to 23 GMT . The second one is tomorrow (Saturday) from 17 to 19 GMT. As usual, the dev team promises to be present incognito and playing along with the rest of the players in the queues. To participate in the tests and play in the PTS in general, all you need is an active SWTOR Subscription and a character of any level.

Here’s what community manager Eric Musco posted earlier today on the SWTOR forums:

Hey folks,

Like we did for previous PTS updates, we are going to be running some focused playtest sessions for the new Vandin Huttball Warzone. This will allow us to ensure that a higher volume of players are in the queue at one time. The playtests will occur:

  • Friday, 8/31: 2PM – 4PM PDT (9PM – 11PM GMT)
  • Saturday, 9/1 10AM: 12PM PDT (5PM – 7PM GMT)

Like always, we will be running around playing incognito alongside you! Hop in and don’t forget to pass on your feedback on the new map, here.

In order to participate simply have a character of any level on any faction and queue up within the specific window. As a note, if you end up in an Arena match instead of Vandin, do your best not to leave the match. Instead try to complete it as quickly as possible and then requeue.

During the play tests it is more likely that a lvl 70 queue is likely to be a lot more active, because of the majority of the players would prefer to copy their high level geared up characters to test the new environment.

There are no level-boosting terminals available on this installment of PTS. I spoke to Eric Musco earlier today and he confirmed that the studio does not plan to allow instant-level feature for this play test.

Vadin first appeared in Chapter 13: Profit and Plunder of Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Fallen Empire. This is the place where Gault Rennow and Vette (two classic SWTOR companions) joined forces with the Alliance commander (you), Lana, Theron, Senya and SCORPIO to attempt a heist on the Guilded Star ship.

If you have never before played on the PTS and don’t know how to install and log in there, I have a handy guide that will help you.
