This is a quick guide to the new Mysterious Observers secret mission. It was released with the launch of Game Update 5.10.4 on July 16 2019 and offers a couple very brief cinematic scenes and a promise for some better and more interesting in the near future (next update, perhaps?)!

For this mission you need to have your Microbinoculars. Also you need to have completed the mini-mission from Update 5.10.3. If you don’t own that item yet, you need to go back to Makeb and finish the Macrobinoculars story arc. Here are the droid NPCs mission givers location on Makeb:
- Republic side: Giant’s Spear Command Post (droid NPC)
- Empire side: Drill Control Center (droid NPC)
Alternatively, you can simply pick up the mission for the Microbinoculars from the special vendor on the Republic and Empire fleets. There’s no need to finish it or go to Makeb if you don’t want to. Thanks to Ismael Blanco for the helpful comment under this guide!
I don’t have a character ready to go to Odessen, who has not been to Makeb and has not yet finished the Microbinocular mission. If anybody can confirm that another item from another mission allows you to spot the observers, please, let me know.
Head to Odessen and go to the edge of the left platform in the Alliance Landing area. You will find an NPC standing there, watching the area with a pair of microbinoculars. You can also spot the camp from the main platform.
Use your own microbinoculars. Look to the north and target the small blue circles. Zoom in to find two strange human-like shapes observing… you.
As soon as you click to zoom in, the game will transition into a short cinematic. Two unknown human-shaped figures will show. The Aurebesh word is “Status”, by the way.
A moment later you will be granted the mission, called “Mysterious Observers”.
The objective reads: “A camp of mysterious observers has attracted your attention on Odessen. Get to a higher vantage point to get a better look at the camp.”
Next, head to the Alliance Operations room. This is accessed from the Elevator on the right side of the Alliance Landing platform.
Sadly, when you get to the higher ground and attempt to look at the camp, it is now empty. The two observers have disappeared. The text in the image below reads: “ANALYSIS: There is no trace left by the camp’s former inhabitants. Absolutely none. Strange.”
This is the end of the mission. The reward is more moral than anything. You only get a handful of Command Points and some Light/Dark Side Points. At the end you are teleported automatically back on the Alliance Landing platform.
I hope you found this quick guide useful. The mission is not anything special and it seems to be a simple teaser for something larger to follow up in an upcoming update.
