On Thursday, April 6th, 2023, Bioware releases SWTOR Patch 7.2.1a. This hotfix deals with a few key issues that were left lingering from the 7.2.1 patch last week!
Today’s patch is labeled as 7.2.1a. Before we even take a look at what’s changed, you should know that letter-patches – updates that contain a letter after the numbers – are usually small hotfixes released whenever required or possible. This is the case with today’s 7.2.1a.
Here are the fixes and changes implemented with Patch 7.2.1a:
The Master’s Datacron was updated in 7.2.1. It used to bring your character to level 70 up until then. Today’s patch fixes an issue for Free-to-Play and Preferred players, who were not getting their characters leveed properly. Note that the Master’s Datacron does not grant you access to content. It just boosts permanently your character’s level. You can learn more from the Master’s Datacron Guide.
Inspired by the TV Show The Mandalorian, BioWare released Mandalorian Nomad’s Armor Set with 7.2.1. It had a bug, though. The voice modulation was not correct. Now, this is fixed. If you are a fan of the show and want to role-play as the main character, we have a great Build Guide on how to Create Din Djarin in SWTOR and play as The Mandalorian.
The anniversary discount pricing for the Dromund Kaas and Coruscant Strongholds has expired, and they are once again available at their standard prices.
Remember SWTOR’s anniversary? It’s in December. Since BioWare goes on a long vacation (updates-wise at least), we had the discounted prices for the Dromund Kaas and Coruscant Strongholds up until today. I assume they were supposed to go away last week when 7.2.1 launched. Either way, the Strongholds are back to their normal prices.
Curious fact: the initial price to purchase these Strongholds was never an issue. Fully unlocking their potential, that’s where the hidden money sink is.
The Queue button on the Utility Bar was not functioning during a PvP match for some reason. 7.2.1a addressed this and you can now leave a match using this button.
The latest Daily Area on Ruhnuk had a bug with the character’s companions showing as invalid when completing the Daily Unconventional Methods Mission on Ruhnuk. This has also been fixed with today’s patch.
And, not that it’s really needed, but here are the official 7.2.1a patch notes from BioWare:
- Master Datacron used on Preferred and Free To Play accounts now correctly levels characters to max Level instead of their Level caps.
- The Mandalorian Nomad Helmet now has the correct voice modulation.
- The anniversary discount pricing for the Dromund Kaas and Coruscant Strongholds has expired, and they are once again available at their standard prices.
- It is now possible to interact with the Queue button on the utility bar during a PvP match. Players can now leave a match with this button.
- Companions are no longer invalid when completing the [DAILY] Unconventional Methods Mission on Ruhnuk.
