SWTOR Update 7.7.1c Changes Overview

SWTOR Update 7.7.1c Changes Overview

Another larger-than-usual hotfix is coming to SWTOR. Update 7.7.1c fixes some issues with Subscriber Login Event and a glitch with Artifact Authorization among other bugfixes.

If I have to say several times in a short span of time, it’s no longer abnormal, but 7.7.1c is yet another rather large update for a lettered patch. Is Broadsword ramping up for the Holiday season? I sure hope so! We got delayed stories to play!

How game updates work in SWTOR

Game updates in SWTOR are pretty consistent and predictable these days. SWTOR’s update schedule features alternating major and minor updates released roughly every three months. We will typically get 2 story updates, 2 Galactic Seasons, and 2 PvP Seasons per year.

Expansions are released every few years for free to subscribers and are denoted by the first number in the build version (5.0, 6.0, 7.0, etc.).

Major updates always contain solo story content and mark the beginning of a new PvP Season. The second number in the build version denotes major updates (7.1, 7.2, 7.3, etc.).

Minor updates contain a new Galactic Season, which is SWTOR’s Battle Pass system. They also include bug fixes and sometimes smaller features. The third number in the build version denotes minor updates (7.1.1, 7.2.1, 7.3.1, etc.).

Lettered patches (7.1a, 7.1b, 7.2a, 7.3.1c, etc.) are hotfixes for their associated major or minor update. They are typically meant to fix an immediate issue that was discovered after the update was released.

Update 7.7.1c highlights

Probably the most interesting fixes for this update are the ones related to the newly released Subscriber Login Event. It was added with the previous lettered patch, 7.7.1b a few weeks ago.

After 7.7.1c, if you are not level 80, you will no longer be able to purchase the following endgame gearing materials:

IconItem NameItem TypeSWTOR Subscriber Login Token IconPrice
Supply Crate OP-1 CatalystsSupply Crate: OP-1 Catalysts350 per crate44
Supply Crate FP-1 StabilizersSupply Crate: FP-1 Stabilizers1,000 per crate44
Supply Crate Tech FragmentsSupply Crate: Tech Fragments1,200 per crate44

The K-2SO customizations, available at the same Subscriber-exclusive vendor, will now unlock in Collections when you purchase them and equip them on the respective droid companions.

Not sure if this was a fix for an error or intentional change, but it sure is an expected and welcomed one! We all love our K-2SOs… I mean 2V-R8 and C2-N2.

The mislabeled 340 Rakata Mainhand weapon item on the vendor now has been updated to properly point out that this is indeed a main hand. It was listed as an offhand.

Items requiring Artifact Authorization that were previously authorized by a past subscription can no longer be equipped after being shared across the Legacy.

After adding roughly a million new skin colors and other customizations to various character models in recent updates, the devs are now catching up with fixes to some glitches that slipped through the cracks. In certain cases the back of your character’s head or the entire body could show black textures or completely turn black.

Lightning Sorcerer | Telekinetics Sage has a talent choice called Dark Embrace | Mental Disparity, which makes it so dealing damage with Thundering Blast | Turbulence ticks Affliction | Weaken Mind once, but ever since 7.0 launched, Dark Embrace, Lightning Sorcerer version of the talent, erroneously stated in its description that Thundering Blast ticks Affliction twice. That’s one inaccuracy in the effect descriptions fixed, with more, hopefully, on the way.

Update 7.7.1c is expected to be deployed during the maintenance on September 30, 2025. Don’t forget that the downtime will be extended as the devs will be pushing a second batch of server database upgrades. It is expected to take eight hours.
