Censure the Commandant

This is the only hidden achievement on Yavin 4 that is not related to the Ancient Threat ops boss. To earn it, you need to defeat Commandant Jenarian.

Commandant Jenarian is a named elite enemy that has a rare chance to spawn in place of the Revanite Captain, who has a relatively long respawn timer already at 15 mins.

You will find both the Revanite Captain and Commandant Jenarian at the central area of the Training Grounds.

Commandant Jenarian also has high a chance to drop the Scarab Underwalker minipet.

Ancient Tome (part of Ancient Threat No More)

Ancient Threat No More is a hidden achievement you unlock after you spawn and defeat the secret ops boss, the Ancient Threat, on Yavin 4.

This boss requires a large group of players and at least one of the team needs to complete a special “ritual” (series of activities) to be able to spawn the boss. In the case of a wipe (unsuccessful attempt), it would be handy if another player has the buffs ready and active.

To spawn the Ancient Threat boss, you need to pick up the Ancient Tome on Tatooine, first, then complete the steps for the hidden achievements Speaker of the Dead and Talisman Collector on Yavin 4, all of this without being defeated, change instances, or log out of the character.

The Ancient Tome is a little clickable item you can find in the free-for-all PvP zone on Tatooine, called Outlaw’s Den. The area is located in the west part of Jundland.

You can freely walk into the Outlaw’s Den. When you cross onto that territory, you will see a red text on your screen, stating that you will be flagged for PvP. If you do not wish to be flagged for PvP all the time, remember to swich back to PvE when you are done.

The Ancient Tome has a number of randomized spawning locations in Outlaw’s Den. It is usually inside or around the buildings. Republic players can enter Outlaw’s Den from the north. The closest quick travel is Outpost Salara. Empire players enter from the south, from Outpost Zaroshe in the Dune Sea.

Below, you can see a examples of locations to give you a better idea of what and where to look for.

When you obtain the Ancient Tome, the Ancient Knowledge buff will appear on your buff bar. The buff lasts for three hours and persists through defeat (unlike all other buffs you will be getting on Yavin 4 as part of this guide).

Speaker of the Dead

Speaker of the Dead is the meta achievement you earn after you discover and interact with all four Sith Lord Force Ghosts on Yavin 4.

The Force Ghosts are roaming around, so when I show you the location, be sure to look around. They respawn every 5-6 minutes. You can find and interact with these spirits at any point. They are not bound to story progression or other achievements.

Interacting with each Force Ghost, will give you a unique Force Echo buff that lasts for 60 minutes. If you are defeated, you will lose the buffs and will have to start over. Completing this hidden achievement, will grant you the Legacy Title: Speaker for the Dead.

The Dashade’s Master

You can find the Force Ghost that grants this achievement in the tunnels connecting the Verdant Swamp to the south and Prowler’s Jungle to the north. Interact with the spirit to earn The Dashade’s Master hidden achievement.

Seeker of Forbidden Teachings

The Sith Spirit is in the northeast corner of the Temple Ruins. You will find it circling around the dark forest. Interact with the spirit to earn Seeker of Forbidden Teachings hidden achievement.

Marked Spirit

The Marked Spirit is located inside the Architect’s Hollow cave. Its entrance is in the south part of the Temple Ruins. Interact with the spirit to earn Marked Spirit hidden achievement.

This is the same cave you visit when completing the puzzle for the Reclaimed Treasure Alliance Alert. In fact, the spirit is roaming around the Ancient Sith Artifact where you place the tablets.

Dark Side Magician

The Dark Side Magician Sith Spirit is on top of the statue’s base structure, facing east, in the Temple Ruins. Interact with the spirit to earn Dark Side Magician hidden achievement.

Talisman Collector

This achievement can be completed as a stand-alone, or as part of the Ancient Threat series of hidden achievements. To spawn the secret boss, you need to first complete the Speaker of the Dead hidden achievement.

There are five talismans located in various corners off the beaten path on Yavin 4. Collecting all of them all, with the Talisman of the Unknown being the last one, will spawn the boss.

Each talisman corresponds to a buff from the Sith Spirits. When you have all of them, you don’t need to bother remembering which Spirit is related to which Talisman. Just follow the steps below. Completing the hidden achievement, will grant you the Legacy Title: Grave Robber.

Each of the Talismans will grant you a corresponding hidden achievement for finding and interacting with it.

Talisman of Tulak Hord

The Talisman is in a basked inside the tent where Master Zunor is, in the Massassi Village, in the eastern part of Temple Ruins.

Talisman of Exar Kun

The Talisman of Exar Kun is behind the fallen giant stone head, next to the waterfalls in the southeast corner of Verdant Swamp.

Talisman of Naga Sadow

The Talisman of Naga Sadow is hidden at the bottom of the tallest waterfall (the right-most one as you face them) in the bottom-right corner of Prowler’s Trail. The spot is actually out of the bounds of the area’s map.

Talisman of Marka Ragnos

The Talisman of Marka Ragnos is located on a stone platform in the northeast corner of the Training Grounds, right next to the entrance to North Jungle Cave.

Talisman of the Unknown

The final talisman is in the dark forest, full of spider webs, area in the far north of the Training Grounds. The Talisman of the Unknown is buried under a pile of skulls on top of an altar

To reach this area, you have to climb from the left side as you face the ridge to the north. You will pass by an alter that is part of the Fighting Power with Knowledge Alliance Alert with Talos Drellik.

Talisman of the Unknown Starting Point

Ancient Threat No More

After you have collected all buffs, you will spawn the Ancient Threat boss by interacting with the final Talisman of the Unknown. The boss will spawn immediately on top of you.

When you spawn the boss, you will loose the Yavin 4 buffs. The Ancient Knowledge buff from Tatooine will remain active. If your team wipes during an attempt, someone else who has the buffs can spawn it.

Upon defeating it, you will earn the Ancient Threat No More hidden achievement. You will also earn the Legacy Title: Ancient Threat.

The Ancient Threat also drops a deco of itself called Trophy: Ancient Threat that fits on Medium and Large hooks and is listed under Trophies – World Bosses. The deco is sellable on the GTN and does fetch a very pretty penny.

Ancient Threat Boss Mechanics

The Ancient Threat applies cleansable debuffs that make the fight harder over time and punish the group for cleansing them. The boss is protected by Ancient Defenses that require you to obtain the Ancient Knowledge buff.

Red circles get placed on players in melee range of the boss throughout the fight, requiring the boss to be moved. It’s ideal to have the ranged stack for AoE healing away from the boss while the tanks move it around in a loop to give the melee room to stand outside of the red circles.

Tanks will need to swap as needed to remove their debuff stacks and will need to move 70m away from everyone else before their debuffs fall off or are cleansed.

We recommend bringing 24 players, including at least 3 tanks and 6 healers, but you should be able to clear it with a standard 16m composition if everyone knows what they’re doing.

Ancient Defenses

Ancient Defenses is a buff the boss has prevents players from dealing any damage to it unless they have the Ancient Knowledge buff. It’s also responsible for dealing the Explosive Force AoE pulse that goes out every 2s for the entire fight.

Explosive Force hits up to 24 players within 40m of the boss, so if you’re beyond 40m, you won’t get hit by the AoE pulse. It deals more damage, knocks you back, and stuns you if you’re more than 15m away from the boss and don’t have the Ancient Knowledge buff.

Ancient Knowledge Buff IconAncient Knowledge

Ancient Knowledge is the buff players get from the Outlaw’s Den on Tatooine that enables you to damage the Ancient Threat and significantly reduces the damage you take from the Explosive Force AoE pulse and prevents you from getting CC’d by it.

Everyone in the group needs to head to Outlaw’s Den on Tatooine to get the Ancient Knowledge buff before fighting the Ancient Threat.

Force Whisper

Force Whisper reduces your healing received by 10% per stack. Rather than falling off, the stacks decrement by 1 every 15s and the duration is refreshed, so the debuff is really a timer before a stack falls off.

Force Whisper is cleansable, but if it gets cleansed or the stacks fall off completely, the person with Force Whisper will get the Silenced debuff and apply it to everyone within 70m.

The Ancient Threat applies a stack to whoever has aggro every 5s. Since Force Whisper applies in this manner and reduces healing received, this is the tank swap mechanic.

Silenced

Silenced locks you out of using all abilities for 6s. It’s basically a stun, except you can still walk around.

This effect is applied to all group members within 70m whenever Force Whisper is removed completely, so tanks need to run to Narnia (70m+ away from group) when swapping off of Ancient Threat. Some groups have a healer stationed in Narnia for the sole purpose of cleansing the tank.

Assassin | Shadow and Juggernaut | Guardian tanks need to be cognizant of abilities that cleanse, including:

Dark Light
Force Shroud Force ShroudResilience Resilience
Force Cloak Force CloakForce Cloak Shadow Force Cloak
Endure Pain Endure Pain Enure

Powertech | Vanguard tanks don’t have to worry about accidentally Silencing the raid, but they can’t swap independently or as quickly either because they need to wait out of the group for their stacks to fall off or rely on a dedicated healer.

Force Leech

Force Leech is a stacking debuff with infinite duration. Each stack increases the damage you take from AoE attacks by 10%. AoE attacks from the boss include Force Storm (red circles), Explosive Force (AoE pulse), and Force Leech (this attack).

Every 10s, the effect gets applied to the 4 closest players to the boss. Force Leech is cleansable, but if you cleanse it, 8 random players in the group will get a stack of Force Leech applied instead. Be careful not to use abilities that cleanse!

It’s best that tanks stand away from the boss when they don’t have aggro so they don’t get excess stacks of Force Leech.

Force Storm Force Storm

Force Storm is the name of the attack that puts a whole bunch of red circles on the ground. It targets the 8 closest players in melee range of the boss and puts a red circle beneath their feet.

The circles tick damage every second as Force Lightning strikes and last 10s. Circles can go out every 5s, but the boss will prioritize applying Force Whisper.

Master of the Beyond

This is the meta achievement that you will unlock after you complete every hidden achievement related to the Ancient Threat, including interacting with the ghosts and talismans, spawning and defeating the Ancient Threat. This achievement grants you the Legacy Title: Master of the Beyond.
