The Five-Finger Mountain Puzzle requires you to manipulate three statues to complete it and grab the Abyss Artifact reward.
Where to find Five-Finger Mountain Ruins
You can find The Five-Finger Mountain Ruins in northwestern Pailune. It is located west of Silver Wolf Mountain and a little to the north from Whisperleaf Fortress.
The White West Sanctuary (where you can find a Giant’s skeleton remains with a good Crit Two-Handed Sword is hidden) is not far to the west.
Puzzle Composition
There are three stone objects connected with thick cables to heavy stone panels on the wall across from the large gap. They are connected in a “pulley system” of sorts. Behind the doors, there are three rotatable statues.
One of the statues (second from the left) is actually hiding the door to the little alcove where the Abyss Cresset is.
On the southeast end of the platform, you can find three little wooden statues. Infront of them, there are a few bundles of arrows and a bow. This is a strong hint of what you are expected to do to solve the puzzle.
How to solve the puzzle
Stand behind one of the stone pulleys (between the cables) and just walk to it to start pushing it. Push it until it passes through the triangle-shaped stoppers.
This lifts a heavy stone panel on the wall across to reveal a hidden statue behind it. Climb on top of the object you just pushed and pull out your bow. Shoot arrows at the gold statue to spin it.
Your aim here is important. Depending on where you hit the rotating statue, it will spin faster and longer or slower and for a shorter duration.
When it starts glowing in blue color, this is the final position you want to leave it in. You need to position the statue facing directly at you. If it starts glowing blue, but is not in a calm state, the blue glow will disappear if the statue is not facing you directly.
Hit it as many times as needed. Note that your time is limited. The heavy stone panel will slide back down in a few seconds. You have to push the metal object again for a new session of shooting.
You have to repeat this process for each of the three statues behind the stone panels. The order in which you reveal and spin the statues doesn’t matter. The goal is to make them all glow blue.
- Pick up Arrows and A Bow if you don’t have.
- Push one of the three stone objects.
- Shoot the statue to make it spin until it glows blue.
- Repeat the same steps for the other two statues.
- Collect your reward.
Reward
After all three statues start glowing in blue, the puzzle will be complete. You will get a short cinematic confirming this and the statue will go down, allowing you to access the Abyss Cresset containing your reward, an Abyss Artifact.
