Hasbro reveals exciting new figures and collectibles, Lucasfilm Publishing hosts a panel at SDCC, and Galaxy of Heroes adds some of the most uncommon characters to its roster.

San Diego Comic Con just began! Lucasfilm Publishing hosted a panel where they revealed some of the books and comics that are releasing later this year or in 2027.
Star Wars: Twin Crossroads
This book by Beth Revis is a new adult novel that follows Luke and Leia. In this story, we’ll witness the period when Luke trains Leia to become a Jedi. This includes the construction of her own lightsaber. Additionally, the twins will embark on a journey to reveal the past of their legendary parents, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala. Star Wars: Twin Crossroads releases April 2027.
Celebrating 50 years of Star Wars
For the first time ever, the novelizations of the Star Wars original trilogy will be available as unabridged audiobooks. Narrated by Marc Thompson, the new editions will be released on February 2, 2027.
Additionally, the panel hinted at new titles that will be part of Star Wars’s half-century celebration. One of said titles is Star Wars: A Celebration by DK Publishing.
Star Wars Icons: Vader
Anthony Breznican and Insight Editions bring us an in-depth story about Star Wars’ most iconic character, Darth Vader. This book discusses Darth Vader’s role in the Star Wars universe, as well as the different iterations that we’ve seen in television, film, novels, comics, and video games.
Icons: Vader includes concept art, on-set photography, rare images, and interviews with the people responsible for bringing him to life. Star Wars Icons: Vader releases October 20, 2026.
The Fall of Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren is getting another comic series from Marvel; this one is also authored by Charles Soule. In this new series, Generals Hux and Pryde are constantly plotting against Kylo Ren. Neither achieves success, and their fear for Ren’s unstable power forces them to create an alliance.
The first issue of The Fall of Kylo Ren releases August 12, 2026.
The Book of Boba Fett meets Marvel
Marvel is bringing The Book of Boba Fett into the comics world. The first issue will be released on September 9, 2026.
After his long-awaited return in The Mandalorian, Boba Fett went on to headline his own Disney+ series, The Book of Boba Fett. The hit show reintroduced the iconic bounty hunter to fans everywhere as he navigated the galaxy’s underworld and claimed control of Tatooine following Jabba the Hutt’s fall.
This August, in the long-standing tradition of Marvel Comics’ epic Star Wars adaptations, Marvel brings this pivotal Star Wars saga to comic stands in STAR WARS: THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT, a seven-issue series by Star Wars veterans Rodney Barnes (Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon, Ahsoka) and Will Sliney (Rise of Kylo Ren). The comic series marks the exciting comic book debut of several key characters including Garsa Fwip, Dokk Strassi, Mok Shaiz’s majordomo, and more!

Rogue One Comics
Rogue One’s 10th anniversary celebration continues with more one-shot comics. So far, Marvel has released issues focusing on Cassian Andor, Saw Gerrera, and Jyn Erso. The next three will be about Chirrut & Baze and Darth Vader.
Rogue One – Chirrut & Baze 1 releases on October 14, 2026, while Rogue One – Darth Vader 1 comes out two weeks later, on October 28, 2026.
Star Wars Galactic Tales of Terror
This compilation puts together three issues. These stories are about the Nightlander, a terrifying entity that has spawned in the galaxy for hundreds or even thousands of years.
Thankfully, he has been put at bay by three different generations of Jedi: Anakin, Luke/Leia, and Rey. Star Wars: Galactic Tales of Terror releases September 22, 2026.
Star Wars: The Experience – A Journey Through the Galaxy
Star Wars: The Experience is an exhibition opening at The Franklin Institute on February 13, 2027, as part of the Star Wars 50th anniversary celebration, inviting fans of all ages inside the galaxy’s creation and celebrating the art, innovation, and fandom that have made Star Wars a global phenomenon.
It spans over 18,000 square feet of visually rich, interconnected galleries, featuring immersive moments, screen-used artifacts, and an RFID-powered experience for an interactive, personalized, and cinematic journey into the creative force behind Star Wars.
Lucasfilm presented some renderings and key art at SDCC to give us a better idea of what to expect.
The exhibition also includes an unprecedented look at 50 years of Star Wars action figure history and creation, featuring more than 100 iconic Star Wars toys, including over 30 rare prototypes, development models, tooling samples, and original design materials, some of which have never been displayed publicly before.
Tickets will go on sale in November for Star Wars: The Experience, which will run from February 13 to September 6, 2027. Following the Philadelphia premiere, the exhibition will launch a five year North American tour.
Hasbro’s new SDCC reveals
As usual, Hasbro didn’t miss the opportunity to reveal some exciting products for the Vintage Collection and Black Series. Information about pre-orders, release dates, and prices will be at the bottom. Most of these don’t have an official release or pre-order date.
Vintage Collection
The first group of figures is from the Clone Wars era: Anakin Skywalker (Padawan), Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padmé Amidala (Geonosis), the Super Battle Droid, and the B1 Battle Droid Commander.
Next, we have a couple of releases from The Mandalorian and Grogu: The INT-4 Interceptor & Imperial Warlord, and Rotta the Hutt!
Last but definitely not least is Luke Skywalker’s iconic X-Wing from A New Hope. Preorder opens exclusively (for now) on Hasbro Pulse August 20 at 1 pm ET for $139.99.
Black Series
From The Black Series, we have Embo & Keibu, and Rotta the Hutt from The Mandalorian and Grogu. Ahsoka Tano & ARC Trooper Jesse, Gar Saxon and Mother Talzin from Clone Wars, as well as Mandalorian Super Commando Kebris, loyal Nightbrother Icarus, and Inquisitor Marrok from Maul – Shadow Lord.
Roleplaying collectibles
The three most exciting items are the brand new Thermal Detonator Replica, Captain Enoch’s Helmet, and Clone Commander Jesse’s Helmet. Captain Enoch Helmet Preorder opens through various retailers on July 27 at 1 pm ET for $109.99. The Thermal Detonator Preorders open August 27 at 1 pm ET for $42.99.
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes goes crazy
Star Wars’ most popular mobile game continues to add non-canon characters to its already massive roster. This time, they are adding Darth Jar Jar, Mara Jade Skywalker, Yoda (Dark Side Vision), Starkiller (Luke Concept), Stormtrooper (Concept), and Jaxxon.
Eyes Like Stars
This young adult romance features brand new characters. The story takes place on Coruscant, during troubling times when the First Order is threatening everything.
Two teenagers meet in a strange way and end up working together to transport a precious artifact, hoping that the First Order or their feelings for each other don’t ruin everything. Release date: July 21, 2026.
