Vulkk’s Video Overview

Game Update 5.1

  • The 3 hosts did a brief overview of what was released with Patch 5.1. They explained the reason for the emergency patch 5.1a today.
  • The team is dedicated to work towards making the grind feel less grindy by speeding up the gearing from PvP and making Ops Loot Drops more consistent.
  • Stalwart Leader Pack was released together with the update.
  • In the coming weeks there will be a new event introduced, that will help players gain Command Rank easier. It will be something similar to the Bonus XP weekends and weeks in the past, but about Command XP instead.

If you have missed something, check these videos I have to get yourself up to speed

Game Update 5.2: The War for Iokath

  • 5.2 is targeted for End of March 2017 or beginning of April 2017.
  • Master Mode Uprisings for all 10 instances.
  • Operations!!! Operations return to SWTOR, starting with patch 5.2.
  • Master Mode Uprisings may have additional mechanics. That is something the team is working on.
  • New storyline: Returning to Iokath. The Alliance, Empire and Republic all have moved to Iokath and the player must choose a side to support. Players cannot switch factions, but can choose to support the opposite to their original faction. We are all Alliance Commanders now, as we know. So it’s logical that the Devs should have allowed a more free choice when it comes to Republic vs Empire.
  • Returning Companions: Quinn (Warrior) and Elara (Trooper) are returning to the game. The players will face difficult decisions when it comes to the missions related to the classic companions. There may be a possibility to kill them.
  • New Daily Area: Located on Iokath, where the players will choose which of the 2 factions to follow and support. In this Daily Area players will be able to “do things differently than the other daily areas”. Ben referred to this as to “v2.0” Daily Area. New reputation factions will also be added.
  • NEW OPERATION: The new operation will have 5 bosses. They will be released in stages. Before the end of the year all 5 bosses will be released. With 5.2 only first boss – Tyth – will be available. He is a giant droid, The God of Rage type of being. This boss will have new and unique voiced lines. For now the plan is to have Story and Veteran Mode of the 1st boss. Master Mode will be released when the 2nd boss is ready and released.
  • There is no time table as of yet for when the rest of the bosses will appear.
  • To get the full story from the new daily area, players would have to do the Operation. It’s kind of optional as the story does tie up on its own (similar to Oricon), but to see really everything, the Operation has to be completed.

Q&A

Plans on scrapping Galactic Command?
– No! They don’t want to remove it completely, but are doing their best to adapt it to every player’s needs and taste.

Cantina at PAX?
– No, there wont be one. Ben will be there, but no Cantina.

SWTOR at Celebration 2017?
– Not 100% sure yet, but most likely. They are working on the details still.
