Game Producer for Star Wars: The Old Republic, Keith Kanneg, took it to the forums today to announce a one week delay for the next update to the game – Patch 5.8’s new target date is now 20th of March 2018.
Stay up to date with Everything about SWTOR Patch 5.8: Command Authority!
The reason Keith gave for this delay is that the update is not ready for release, based on internal testing and PTS feedback. It seems the issues are mostly with the final boss of the Gods from the Machine Operation – Izax, who needs some more tuning.
Unfortunately, this also means, Keith confirmed, that Game Update 5.9 will also be delayed with one additional week. Its new target release date is now moved from 24th April to 1st of May 2018.
Game Update 5.8, also known as “Command Authority” is expected to bring the final boss to the Iokath Operation – Izax, a massive Conquest Revamp and returning companions for the Agent and Inquisitor plus the long awaited Arcann Romance option (if you kept him alive, of course).
Game Update 5.9, entitled “The Nathema Conspiracy” will introduce a new Flashpoint on Nathema and the conclusion of the Theron Story Ark that started with The War for Iokath 5.2 Update. Also a new set of Augments will be released to help players defeat Izax’ Veteran Mode (which will be live Nightmare level of difficulty), more returning companions in the face of Felix, Mako and Akaavi.
