SWTOR 5.10.1a Fixes Companions Bugs and Ossus World Bosses

BioWare is ready with the small hotfix numbered 5.10.1a. The Update corrects a few companions-related issues dating from the release of 5.10 “Jedi Under Siege” back in December.

Earlier this week BioWare announced that they are working on a small patch for Tuesday. This was later changed to Thursday as, apparently, something was not quite ready and needed more testing.

This hotfix may look small on the outside and judging by the only six bullet-points with changes made, you would consider this insignificant. You would be mistaken. Some key issues, introduced with Update 5.10 Jedi Under Siege way back in December of 2018 that have been tormenting players and their companions, are finally fixed.

If you had one or more of your companions show multiple times in your list, like the Light and Dark Side of Jaesa, the Sith Warrior classic companion, this should no longer happen after today.

Another of the Warrior’s loyal companions from the very early stages of your journey – Vette – should no longer cause freezing when she is accompanying you.

Some players reported their companions have lost their influence level and were reverted back to level 1, apparently. The true values have now been restored.

After a long and sound struggle, the dev team is proud to announce that they have finally managed to fix one of the most frustrating problems related to the world bosses on Ossus. ” What’s happening now is that Kil’cik loses health when a Guardian dies and this health loss can kill him” – Eric Musco explains – “If this damage kills him, then the Guardian gets the credit for the kill instead of you. This only happens if a Guardian dies while Kil’cik himself is at low health (most consistently around 4% or so)”. When you defeat the two of them, you will now always get a credit for that.

Here are the patch notes as they were published on swtor.com:

  • Companions will no longer show up more than once in the Companions and Contacts list after using the autocomplete functions when beginning KOTFE, KOTET, or Jedi Under Siege. Players who were already in this state have had the duplicates removed.
  • Sith Warriors who have Vette as an active Companion will no longer experience intermittent game freezing.
  • Companions whose influence level disappeared have been restored to their correct Influence level.
  • Issues with some companions becoming unsummonable have been corrected.
  • The World Bosses on Ossus will now really award proper kill credit for “Flesh and Steel” and “Masterwork Data Crystal” Missions.

This small patch should be available for download on Thursday, 14th of March. BioWare has announced a three hour downtime for a scheduled maintenance between 13:00 and 16:00 GMT. The next update is expected in April. Patch 5.10.2 “Heralds of Victory” will introduce a new Guild Heraldry tool and a drastically improved preview window. Stay tuned for more details as they become available from the developers. Don’t forget to sign up to receive new posts notifications from VULKK.com.
