Learn how to solve the Forgotten Altar Puzzle in Crimson Desert. This treacherous twister hides the key, so we’ll guide you on how to wind things down.
Forgotten Altar is the fourth in a series of Abyss Puzzles. The order of this puzzle chain are as follows:
- Spire of Clockwork
- Riddle Square
- Origin of Thoughts
- Forgotten Altar (this one)
- Disconnected Truth
- Denn River Cube Puzzle
- Ether Fragment
Before proceeding, make sure you have the Nature’s Snare ability. Second, and pay close attention to this one, stay out of the central sand pit.

The tornado is cruel and unforgiving. If you get too close to the sand pit, you will be unable to escape the wind, twisting and twirling around until you are grounded into pulp when you reach the top.
Clear out the thorns
The area is riddled with thorns, so clear them out with some fire. Use Blinding Flash or the Flame Strike ability to achieve this. If you go down the left path from the entrance, you’ll find a Treasure Chest surrounded by thorns. Within the chest, you’ll find a Faded Abyss Artifact and an Insight II Abyss Gear (+2 Critical Rate).

Wind things down
With the thorns cleared out, you can find an orb and a socket. Place the orb into the socket and use the fans at the north or south corners to fly upwards.

Land on the platform above the tornado and use Nature’s Snare to counteract the direction of the apparatus. This will turn off the tornado to reveal a caged switch.

Grab onto the circular grate of the cage, resist, and Force Palm to enter. Activate the switch and you’ll get your Abyss Artifact. Activate the Skybridge and follow the path to reach the next puzzle, Disconnected Truth.
