Star Wars Zero Company continues the trend of putting Mandalorians in the spotlight. Early in the game you get the option to hire Cly Kullervo at no expense to your credits, but there is a catch!
Cly Kullervo’s First Appearance and Intro
She’ll show up at The Den between cycles 13 and 14 during the Umbaran Connection. Neesh will introduce you to her in your office.
Clytemnestra Kullervo is an infamous Mandalorian bounty hunter belonging to Clan Verminoth. She’s very secretive about her motivations and how her marks wronged her.
She’ll make the offer to work for Zero Company in exchange for using your Intelligence Network and help taking down her marks once she finds them.
This is where the decision pops up. The game will prompt you to decide between “Hire Cly” and “Don’t Hire Cly”. If you choose not to hire her, the game will give you another chance to change your decision, pushing you towards hiring her.
Pros and Cons to hiring Cly
With the game’s insistence on you choosing to hire her it’s clear that’s the intended path, but why?
Cly Kullervo is a special character within the game. She is the only one with access to the Warrior Specialization, which gives her access to all her Mandalorian gadgets.
If you commit to building the team around supplying her heavy use of Advantage, she easily becomes one of the strongest Operators in the game.
More importantly, you get to know her full story. Star Wars Zero Company excels at making you care about your Operators. Hearing their banter and small interactions each time I got back to The Den was one of the most satisfying experiences this game gave me.
So, what’s the catch? There’s really only one downside: whenever she informs you about one of her marks, you are forced to take her mission.
This could disrupt whatever plans you had and even put you in a position where you have to choose between other Operator Missions or keeping the Infinite Coil in check.
Cly’s Missions and Rewards
To complete Cly’s story and understand her motivations, you have to go on 2 Critical Missions, each with its own rewards.

Should you hire Cly?
On your first playthrough, you should absolutely hire Cly. She’s a very fun character to play with. Getting to know her story is in and of itself very rewarding, it’s a great tale of betrayal, regret, and how far revenge can push someone.
Additionally, if you’re a completionist looking to 100% the game you’ll need to play out both her missions to unlock the achievement The Mandalorian, which states: Completed Cly’s story.
On subsequent playthroughs, especially if you’re going for an all-custom Operator roster, you might consider not hiring her just to avoid any content that stops you from playing the way you want.
