This guide will show you how to complete the Echoes of Silenced Bells side quest, all possible outcomes, and the rewards you receive for completing it.
How to unlock the quest
This quest is unlocked after completing the Prologue. You can find it on the far east side of Svartrau City.

I suggest that you get to at least level 20 before venturing into this long and puzzling quest. Just because it is unlocked after the prologue doesn’t mean it’s ideal for you to do it right after it.
Important things to consider:
- Boss fight: Yes
- Item rewards: Yes
- Legendary rewards: No
- Consumable time segments: Up to 10
Meet with Anca at the old Inn
After arriving at St. Tyna’s Grove, you agree to meet with Anca at the old Inn. As you get close to the Inn, a thick fog will cover the entire area. Aside from said fog, you might also find small groups of enemies who look particularly devilish.

While they look like creatures who spawned from hell itself, they’re not particularly dangerous. Fighting any of them feels exactly the same as going against their “mortal” counterparts, with the only difference being that these creatures can take more damage.

Once you meet with Anca, she will discuss how everything at the convent went downhill after she left. She emphasizes the problem with the fog and how no one has seen any of the sisters since it appeared.
The next step is going together to the convent to find out what is actually happening. This first part of the quest consumes 1 time segment.

Make your way to the convent
If you follow the main road, you will find evidence that reveals how this isn’t the doing of a Vrakhir. In fact, you’ll find that many of Brencis’ men also went to the convent, but they were torn to pieces.

Once at the convent, Coen and Anca see a nun standing near the entrance. Anca talks to her and comes to greet her, but when the sister turns back, it’s made evident that she is no longer human. After defeating her, she gets right back up. This and every other nun in the convent have been turned into mindless zombies who keep getting up.

Coen and Anca find a safe place to hide. Anca reveals that she was expelled because she learned magic from books that were hidden and forbidden. She talked about her little secret to Leonica, her best friend. Sadly, Leonica turned her in and caused her expulsion.
Anca’s theory is that these forbidden books and their knowledge are directly related to what happened to the nuns. To learn the truth about this place, you need to get to the library.
Find a route to the library
The immediate problem that you now need to solve is the courtyard being filled with these undying nuns. After going to the terrace of the refectory building, you can scout the places you can go and figure out a plan. There is a shrine in this area, but using it will consume 3 time segments.

Before telling you what to do, I must emphasize that these zombie nuns can’t be killed. It doesn’t matter what method you use; they keep getting up. They’re not the strongest or fastest enemies, but their immortality makes it impossible to win against them.
Secure a safe passage to the library
When using the vantage point to explore the area, you get additional quest objectives. Said objectives are checking three different places: The infirmary, the bell tower, and the chapel, with the last one consuming 1 time segment. You can also look for the keys, though this does not mention any specific place.

While the chapel, bell tower, and infirmary are disclosed as important buildings in the convent, the truth is that there are a few more buildings that are key to solving this mission in the most “peaceful” way.
Go to the chapel and inspect the murals and St. Tyna’s body. You can use Compel Soul on a dead nun’s body. She’ll tell you how people broke in and tore down St. Tyna’s tomb. Some of her “pieces” are scattered over the convent.

The infirmary gets you access to the library, but it’s locked. However, you can go to the back and talk to the Brencis’ men who are trapped inside. The Officer proposes a deal: You give him a relic he was sent to recover, and he’ll grant you access to the infirmary.

This unlocks the Most Precious Thing side quest. You can make things work without doing this deal, so I suggest that you keep the relic to yourself since the Relic provides some decent stats.
You will find the monastery keys at Anghel’s cabin, next to the sacristy. These keys will grant you access to the sacristy and bell tower.

Enter the sacristy and loot the nun’s body to acquire the Relic.

The next place you must visit is the dormitories. Look for the Campana Loquitur; it’s on the floor next to a bench. This letter describes the ringing bell patterns and what they mean for the convent’s nuns:
- Ring the bells three times: Go to the chapel
- Ring the bells four times: Go to the infirmary
- Ring the bells five times: Go to the dormitories
With the keys and instructions on how the bell signals work, you can now go to the bell tower.
Here’s what happens when you give each signal:
- Church signal: Every nun goes into the chapel; the convent becomes safe for Anca.
- Infirmary signal: The nuns not only kill Brencis’ men, but they also continue to make it unsafe for Anca since the infirmary is connected to the library.
- Dormitory signal: Some nuns go to the dormitory, but there are still a considerable number of them in the courtyard. You can solve this by ringing the church signal to send the remaining nuns to the chapel.

Search the catacombs
With the path cleared, head to the catacombs to find the person responsible for this twisted mess. The place has some undead nuns, but unlike the previous ones, they won’t respawn. Some of the bookshelves you’ll see have ability manuals, so make sure to loot them.

At the center of the catacombs, you’ll find Leonica, the nun who accused Anca of being a witch. There are multiple dialogue options you have when talking with Leonica, but all of them lead to the same result: you have to defeat her.

Defeat Leonica, She Who Speaks to the Devil
Leonica only has one melee attack, which consists of using her knife. There isn’t anything special about it; you can block it like any other melee attack.

She can quickly teleport close to you or away from you, depending on what she’s going to do next. If you target her at the beginning of the battle, Coen will immediately turn to the spot she teleports. This will save you some precious seconds and allow you to prepare for her next move.

Leonica has 3 offensive abilities that involve magic. The first one consists of sending two flocks of crows at you. They track your position, but it’s easy to dodge them as long as you’re at a medium to large distance.

The second ability serves as both offense and defense. Leonica surrounds herself with bones and throws them in all directions. You can interrupt her, but the time window is very small, so I’d suggest playing safe by moving away from her.

The third offensive ability also involves throwing bones. The difference is that she will do it in a single direction. To avoid getting hit, simply move to either side. She is vulnerable when doing this; try to strike her.

After performing a few of the abilities mentioned above, Leonica will disappear and spawn undead nuns. All you have to do is defeat them, and Leonica will reappear. The fight itself isn’t too challenging, but a few mistakes in a row can be fatal.

Decision: Let Anca take the notes or Burn them
After defeating Leonica, you and Anca must go through some notes to understand what Leonica was doing. It turns out that Leonica was trying to lift the curse (that she caused) to let the nuns rest in peace, but since you defeated her, that is not going to happen anymore.
Anca feels guilty about this and considers finishing the ritual herself. You can let her finish it (consumes 2 time segments) or prevent it by destroying the notes.

If you throw the notes in the fire, Anca will be mad and safe, but the convent will remain cursed.
If you let Anca complete the ritual, the convent will be free of the curse. However, Anca will appear heavily affected, but nothing with immediate consequences. Just keep in mind that whatever you choose might have consequences in the future.
Exit the convent
With this business done, you are able to exit the convent. Picking the first choice will consume two time segments, or you can catch Anca later.

If you didn’t honor the deal with Brencis men but still allowed them to live by not sending the nuns to the infirmary, they will “greet” you right before leaving the area. As you’d expect, they want to get the Relic one way or another.

There’s no benefit from giving the Relic to them, but you’re free to do as you want.
Rewards
Completing the quest will grant you 1 Skill Point and 150 XP. Additionally, you can also keep The Relic of St. Tyna’s Relic and find St. Tyna’s Tibia. Either of these relics can be used to craft part of the Arbiter’s Armor Set.
