What are the Threads of Time
The Treads of Time is a progress tracker for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (2026). You’ll unlock it after meeting Kaepora Gaebora for the first time, just after completing the Great Deku Tree and leaving Kokiri Forest.
Press the – button to access the Threads of Time menu. It will show a tapestry and and show what you have already accomplished, or what you are currently working on. You can see different objectives for various goals within this menu.
While in this menu, you can press Y to zoom out to see the entire tapestry. It won’t have much at the start of the game, but it will look amazing when it’s complete.
How to fill out the Tapestry
The only way to fill out the Tapestry is to complete the main story objectives, and do some side activities such as collecting songs or unlocking Epona.
Your progress can be tracked between objectives. For example, before you meet Princess Zelda, you’ll see a empty shape within the zoomed in part of the tapestry. After sneaking past the castle guards and meeting Princess Zelda, it will fill out the empty spot!
While you’re guaranteed to get some components of the Tapestry, it’s possible to miss some pieces if you’re not doing side content. Be sure to talk to various people in Hyrule for any rumors that can lead to secrets, they might just fill out the Tapestry!
