Crimson Desert’s Update 1.11 adds new Challenges that allow you to increase the number of Pets you can have, improves the customization options for controllers and fixes some bugs.
Update 1.11 Highlights
This week’s update doesn’t progress any of the major pillars of the summer roadmap, but it further improves the pets situation, by allowing you to have up to 100 registerred pets. Damiane and Oongka are now able to use the Mining Drill and Chainsaw too, which brings them one step closer to Kliff’s capabilities when it comes to out-of-combat activities.
New Challenges for more Pet Slots
At the bottom of Menu → Journal → Challenges → Continued Journey, you will find a tab called Pets. Inside are four challenges that reward you with extra Pet slots upon completing them.

The challenges have the following requirements:
- Start of Companionship: Tame 1 pet.
- Speedy Tamer: Tame 3 pets in 1 minute.
- A New Reliable Companion: Grow a Baby Wyrven and a Kuku Bird Chick.
- Bye, My Little Friend: Release 1 pet.
Some of the challenges will be auto-completed for you, if you have previously completed their requirements, and upon updating and logging in to the game, you will receive a pop-up notification of the rewards being sent to your Storage.

However, if you have released a pet in the past, it may not register for the challenge. Same goes for the Growing of Wyvern and Kuku Bird babies. As you see on these screenshots, I only received the reward for the first challenge and will have to do the others after 1.11 again.
You can have up to 100 registered pets, but you can only summon up to 50 of them in the camp. You wouldn’t want to overload the camp with pets now, would you?
The Baby Wyvern has its own dedicated Map Icon
Now the Baby Wyvern has its own dedicated icon on the map and on the minimap as well. For clearance, on the image below, the top blue icon is the pet, the one below and to the left, is the grown-up Wyvern mount.

The Baby Wyvern has its disadvantages. It loves spawning in your feet and tripping you over sometimes. It also doesn’t enjoy staying on your hand or shoulders like the Iron Eagle for example.
However, it is fast and reliable when it comes to looting stuff for you off of the bodies you leave behind on the battlefield.
Damiane and Oongka Improvements
Pearl Abyss continues to improve the capabilities of the two other playable characters, Oongka and Damiane. In this update, they receive the ability to equip and use the Mining Drill and Chainsaw tools.
The two characters also received a couple of fixes:
- Fixed an issue with the amount of Spirit recovered after leveling Focus.
- Using Scatter Shot while clinging to a wall now consumes cannonballs.
Iron Eagle and Phoenix can now fight alongside you
Originally added in patch 1.06, in patch 1.10 Baby Wyverns got the ability to equip the Sigil of Valor. Now it becomes available to two of the other most-popular pets.
The Iron Eagle and Phoenix pets can now equip the Sigil of Valor. This is a pet gear item you can purchase from the secret vendor in Pororin. It allows the pets to participate in battle.
We encountered a bug and are unable to put the Sigil of Valor on the Phoenix and Iron Eagle. We don’t know at this time if this is an isolated issue or a global bug. The feature was announced back in 1.10 as coming with 1.11, but it’s not working. We bought new items, so it is not an issue with the old item not being updated.
We advise you against using the Sigil of Valor on a pet. Pets are most valuable when they are looting stuff off of bodies for you. If they are fighting, they are not looting anything.
Find Lost Items at Shops
If you have forgotten to loot or have lost an important (rare, unique etc) item during your adventures, the Shopkeepers will now offer it to you for seven days after the time you lost the item.
The list of items that can appear (at a higher price, though!) at the shops for purchase after lost include: rare equipment obtained from treasure chests, quests, and other methods.
Controller Customizations Improvements
As of this patch, if you play with a controller, you will be able to remap the buttons for Map, Inventory, Skills, Journal, and Photo Mode. This functionality has been available for keyboard and mouse already, but it’s great to see it introduced to controllers now as well!
