Crimson Desert Update 1.16 brings Major Trading and Banking Updates

Vulkk by Vulkk|

Pearl Abyss introduced a massive trading and banking system upgrade with Crimson Desert’s patch 1.16.00 that can make the rich players ultra-rich! But it also added a huge money sink to balance things out.

Patch 1.16 and its hotfixes are available to all paltforms where the game is playable. This includes PC Steam, Epic Games store, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.

Update 1.16 Highlights

The key changes are a big improvement to the Trading system, a ton of new Trading locations, and a banking update for the ultra-rich.

Trading Changes

A total of 133 new Trading Posts are now available on the map of Pywel. They are all marked with an “unknown” question mark symbol on the map until you visit them.

To view them clearly and easily, you can activate the newly added “Trade” button on the map. This map mode will also highlight the trading routes for you.

When you open the map, you can inspect every Trading post you have already discovered to see what they offer or need and the quantities of items they have in stock.

You can also use the filters to display on the map a specified trading good type and see which trading posts have it on stock or are willing to purchase it from you.

Delivering trading goods to trading posts that are more difficult to reach with a wagon, will yield you a higher profit, naturally. This is how things work in the real world, it makes sense that this is the case in Pywel as well.

There are 7 new wagon shops located in Hernand, Demeniss, Delesyia, Pailune, Tommaso, Urdavah, and Varnia. You can use them to package and load trade goods.

Overall trading is now a lot more profitable and if you are willing to put the extra effort and farm the items from the Camp Missions, you can get rich a lot faster than what the original trading system at launch had to offer.

24 new types of high-value trade goods and 4 new types of regular goods are now available. You can get them through looting or Camp Missions.

The devs increased the amount of trade goods lost when retrieving your horse or wagon or when the wagon gets destroyed to incentivize players to more carefully pick their paths and take better care of the items they transport.

On the plus side, you can now move goods between your wagon and horse. You can now also sell trading goods a single item at a time, should you wish to.

Banking Update

After you become ultra-rich (via trading, farming gold bars or whatever other method you prefer), you now have an option to start investing in Bonds.

To unlock the Bond investment system, you must first open your own Bank Strongbox. You can do that by visiting the Banker NPC in Hernand.

The permit to open your Personal Bond Strongbox costs 1000 Silver. This is a one-time purchase.

You can trade your gold bars for Bonds at a 10 Gold bars to 1 Bond ratio. To start investing Bonds, you need to deposit at least 10 Bonds first.

You can only purchase Bonds with Gold bars that are already deposited at the bank, not in your inventory.

Similarly to investing gold, you can select between a conservative, a balanced and an aggressive strategies when you decide to invest in bonds.

The updates happen once every 7 in-game days. If you are dedicated to playing the save-and-reload game, you can increase your wealth massively this way. Alternatively, you can select the low risk strategy and forget about this for a whole. The second option is unlikely to allow you to purchase the cosmetics from the Bond Shop any time soon, though. (depending on your investment, of course).

Should you become so incredibly rich that you don’t know what to do with the stacks of Bonds you have in your strogbox, the Bond shop is here to “help”!

There are a handful of house decorations that cost more than an arm and a leg. The ones locked behind the NPC’s trust level (you can feed him or give him pouches of coins), cost even more (60 and 80 Bonds each).

If you have been looking for a ridiculous money sink where you can dump all of your wealth and get a few shinies in return, look no further! This is it!
