We’ll cover all Crafting Manuals “of the World” in Crimson Desert including what recipes you get from each volume and where you can find them.

How Crafting Manuals Work

Crafting manuals contain recipes for specific types and pieces of equipment. Once you’ve acquired the Knowledge from reading the book, you can visit any Blacksmith in Pywel and have him craft whichever recipe you want from said book.

Recipes are divided based on equipment type, like Plate Armor, One-Handed Weapons, Shields, etc., and then further broken down into 4 volumes that are loosely connected to when and where you find the associated equipment in the world.

In other words, equipment from Delesyia or the Crimson Desert tends to come from Vols. III or IV, while equipment from Hernand or Demeniss tends to come from Vols. I or II.

You can find every single volume at a specific location in Pywel, and many of them have multiple defined locations. In this guide, we’re sticking to a single location based on ease of access and proximity to Hernand.

You can also find a Crafting Manual inside every Wooden Box. The contents of each Wooden Box are semi-random and seem to be dependent on the region where you found it, like you probably won’t find a Vol. III in a box in Hernand.

The loot pool for Wooden Boxes does not contain any of the Vol. IV manuals. Those always come from a single specific location and are typically locked behind some sort of progression system, like Research.

Still, Wooden Boxes, are a great way to unlock recipes early and even if you find one you already have, the later volumes are still worth a pretty penny.

Plate Armors of the World volumes contain recipes on how to craft armor pieces with maximum Defense stats including helms, chest armor, cloaks, gloves, and boots.

You receive Plate Armors of the World, Vol. IV, for completing the Future Protective Material Research Project at the Research Institute at The Delesyian Institute in Marniville.

Leather Armors of the World

Leather Armors of the World volumes contain recipes on how to craft armor pieces with moderate Defense stats and Lightning Resistance, including helms, chest armor, cloaks, gloves, and boots. Many of these books are located near Tanneries.
