Two-Handed Weapons

Most of the special Two-Handed Weapons are Spears that are upgradeable or have upgradeable Kuku versions with 4 Abyss Gear sockets. The unique effect is balanced as a baked-in 5th Abyss Gear that has a pointless cooldown/charge effect but features more detailed weapon VFX.

Often, their Attack value starts much higher than average for the base version but still only gets boosted to the standard amount when fully upgraded. The destructible, non-upgradeable versions usually sell for a bunch of silver, so try to get the upgradeable version ASAP and sell the rest.

Soul Liberation (Finisher)

Fires off 5 damaging souls in a forward arc upon finishing off an enemy. This effect has a 10s cooldown.

Soul Spear Icon

A spear forged from souls harvested by the followers of Antumbra. Delivering a finishing blow releases the trapped spirits within, eroding the sanity of nearby enemies. Requires a brief cooldown after an attack.

Crimson Desert’s Soul Spear is an actual spear rather than a magic spell like it is in Dark Souls and fires off little “Homing Soulmasses” as a baked-in finisher with a pointless cooldown. Visually, it’s just an ethereal version of Antumbra’s Spear.

You can find Soul Spear in the middle of one of the chambers at the Tomb of Frozen Souls, a Hidden Place in the Everfrost mountains on the western edge of Hernand, due south of the Hoenmark Ruins where you fight Beloth.

Lightning Resistance Icon

Lightning Weapon Attack

Consumes a charge to deal lighting damage to the target. This effect can be charged up to 5 times, with each charge having a 5 second cooldown.

Electro-Mecha Spear Icon

An electricity-charged spear used by Marni’s Machina Knight. Rather than a standard spear, Marni fitted it with a special device to make the blade conduct electricity. Anyone struck by it suffers not only the spear’s damage, but the shock from the electricity as well. A brief recharge time is required after an attack.

The Electro-Mecha Spear is wielded by Machina Knights and consumes charges to deal lightning damage.

You can loot the Electro-Mecha Spear from a treasure chest boarded up beneath an A.T.A.G. garage northwest of Snaketail Wall in Gorthak Territory in Delesyia.

Electro-Mecha Longsword Icon

An electricity-charged longsword used by Marni’s Machina Knight. Rather than a standard longsword, Marni fitted it with a special device to make the blade conduct electricity. Anyone struck by it suffers not only the blade’s damage, but the shock from the electricity as well.

You receive the Electro-Mecha Longsword from the Machina Knight at Marni’s Outpost in northern Delesyia. There’s no need to pick up the Faction quest, just go there and start swinging.

Lightning Greathammer

Attack Icon

Attack: 27

Lightning Resistance Icon

Lightning Weapon Attack

Consumes a charge to deal lighting damage to the target. This effect can be charged up to 3 times, with each charge having a 5 second cooldown.

A greathammer crackling with powerful electricity. A battery is fitted inside the hammerhead, sending electricity through it. It can strongly draw in the current in the air and strike down like lightning.

This weapon is exclusive to Oongka. Since there is no Kuku version and it isn’t upgradeable nor has any Abyss Gear sockets, there is no reason for Oongka to use it over the Electro-Mecha weapons or Kuku Lightning Spear.

You receive the Lightning Greathammer for completing the Crimson Desert’s Politics Faction Quest “The Rampaging Goldenscales”, which just requires you to drive out the Goldenscales at the Iguana Hatchery in the Urdavah region of the Crimson Desert.

There’s no consistent way to get more Lightning Greathammers when this one breaks, but they might drop from the Goldenscales who wield them.

If you want a Giant (Red) Iguana mount of your own, just steal one from someone else and feed it a couple of Prickly Pears while riding it. Goldenscales ride the red ones and there’s a green one in Tomasso. The red ones are hostile, so just use Force Palm to stun them and hop on.

Laser Cannon Spear

Attack Icon

Attack: 27

Focused Beam

Strike a target to shoot a penetrating laser. This effect can be charged up to 3 times, with each charge having a 5 second cooldown.

A spear built to fire lasers. Fitted with a light-amplifying device, it can shoot a laser in a straight line. It can deal deadly wounds from afar to enemies who approach, thinking it’s just an ordinary spear. A brief recharge time is required after an attack.

You can obtain Laser Canon Spears by sending Mission Dispatches to Marni’s Masterium after completing Chapter XI: Truth and Reality and the Prickly Pear Research Project at The Delesyian Institute.

Focused Beam (Kuku Edition)

Strike a target to shoot a penetrating laser.
This effect can be charged up to 10 times, with each charge having a 2 second cooldown.

Kuku Laser Cannon Spear Icon

A laser cannon spear reinforced with a kuku spear. It functions less like a spear and more like a portable cannon that fires explosive beams. Power amplified within the pot erupts from the tip as a streak of light, piercing through any enemies in its path.

The Kuku Laser Cannon Spear does not break after use, is upgradeable, has Abyss Gear sockets, and can be used far more frequently than the non-Kuku version. The only downgrade is that the weapon doesn’t look as cool.

You can craft the Kuku Laser Cannon Spear at Kilnden Workshop in west central Hernand after receiving the Blueprint from Lyselia, the Green Witch of Humility, by purifying the Sanctum of Veneration on Mount Benus in southeastern Delesyia.

You’ll need a Laser Canon Spear, 5 Small Batteries, 3 Electrical Components, 10 Cogwheels, and a Kuku Spear.

Disruptor Spear

Attack Icon

Attack: 27

Cog Disruptor Wave

Shoots electro-magnetic pulses forward, causing mechanical malfunctions. This effect can be charged up to 3 times, with each charge having a 10 second cooldown.

A spear crafted to prevent machine from overloading and going haywire. Swinging it unleashes an electromagnetic pulse that disrupts a machine’s function.

The Disruptor Spear fires the same EMP blasts used by bounty hunters that attack you while piloting your A.T.A.G.

You can loot a Disruptor Spear from a weapon stand at Grunlore Outpost in the Gorthak Region of Delesyia.

You can also send Mission Dispatches to Marni Mechworks north of Mount Benus after completing Chapter XI: Truth and Reality and the Environment Adaptability Weapon System Research at the Delesyian Institute.

Please note that the Disruptor Spear is different from the Disruptor (Pack), though they fill the same niche.

Cog Disruptor Wave (Kuku Edition)

Shoots electro-magnetic pulses forward, causing mechanical malfunctions. This effect can be charged up to 10 times, with each charge having a 2 second cooldown.

Kuku Disruptor Spear Icon

A disruptor spear reinforced with a kuku spear. The original disruptor spear was limited by its own internal mechanisms, which necessitated a cap on its power output. However, the kuku pot, forged with Abyss technology, removes these constraints, allowing the weapon to freely unleash waves that disrupt mechanical operations.

The Kuku Disruptor Spear does not break after use, is upgradeable, has Abyss Gear sockets, and can be used far more frequently than the non-Kuku version. Much like the Laser Cannon Spear, the only downgrade is that the weapon doesn’t look as cool.

It’s a bit redundant, but this is the ultimate weapon to pair with Steelbane Abyss Gears.

You receive the Blueprint for the Kuku Disruptor Spear (and the Enhanced Kuku Disruptor Pack and A.T.A.G.) from Marek at the end of the Ironflame Orcs Faction Quest “Pot and Weapons” at Zargan Tankworks in the Gorthak Region of Delesyia.

You’ll need a Disruptor Spear, 5 Small Batteries, 2 Electrical Componentes, 10 Cogwheels, and a Kuku Spear to craft the Kuku Disruptor Spear.

They don’t give anything good, but if you want to get Marek and Valgash up to Trust 100, you can find them both here inspecting the factory. At the time of publishing, you can’t even give gifts to Marek.

Flame Spear

Attack Icon

Attack: 27

Critical Rate Icon

Critical Rate Lv 1

Fire Resistance Icon

Fire Weapon Attack

Consumes a charge to deal fire damage to the target. This effect can be charged up to 5 times, with each charge having a 5 second cooldown.

A spear that spits fire. Designed by an engineer inspired by fire-breathing dragons, it was forged not merely to stab a single foe, but to face many at once. Fitted with a fuel tank, it can be used longer than the blazing spear.

Flame Spears drop from defeating enemies that wield them, mostly Black Bears, and you can send Mission Dispatches to craft them at Ashclaw Keep after completing Chapter VII: Homecoming and Weapon Heat-Treatment Research at the Research Institute at Gorthak Ironworks in Delesyia.

For some reason, this Dispatch is categorized under “Other” rather than Pailune.

Kuku Flame Spear

A flame spear reinforced with a kuku spear. The pot is packed with high-concentration fuel, unleashing a wave of all-consuming flame with every swing. Though persistent overheating issues prevent it from spewing flames indefinitely, it remains a weapon of formidable power.

The Kuku Flame Spear does not break after use, is upgradeable, has Abyss Gear sockets, and can be used far more frequently than the non-Kuku version.

You can craft the Kuku Flame Spear at Kilnden Workshop in west central Hernand after receiving the Blueprint from Bari, the Blue Witch of Kindness, by purifying the Sanctum of Exaltation between Silver Wolf Mountain and the City of Pailune.

You’ll need a Flame Spear, 10 Small Batteries, 50 Lubricant, and a Kuku Spear to craft the Kuku Flame Spear.

Lightning Resistance Icon

Lightning Weapon Attack

Consumes a charge to deal lighting damage to the target. This effect can be charged up to 5 times, with each charge having a 5 second cooldown.

A lightning spear crafted in Delesyia. Electricity runs along the tip, shocking anyone it pierces.

You can find a Lightning Spear resting in its own stand at the Blackwall Bandit Camp near Skallcove in northeastern Pailune.

You can also send Mission Dispatches to craft them at Windsong Peaks in Pailune after solving the Ancient Barrier Challenge, defeating Titan, the Thunder God, atop the mountain, and completing the Electric Tool Design Research Project at the Dewhaven Research Institute.

Lightning Weapon Attack (Kuku Edition)

Consumes a charge to deal lighting damage to the target. This effect can be charged up to 10 times, with each charge having a 2 second cooldown.

Kuku Lightning Spear Icon

A lightning spear reinforced with a kuku spear. By harnessing the raw power of a raging storm, its output has been pushed to the absolute limit. Each thrust releases a burst of blue flashes and lightning, paralyzing foes and reducing them to charred remains.

The Kuku Lightning Spear does not break after use, is upgradeable, has Abyss Gear sockets, and can be used far more frequently than the non-Kuku version.

Compared to the Electro-Mecha Spear, the Kuku Lightning Spear offers more attack charges, higher Movement Speed, and a boost to Attack Speed in exchange for lower base damage.

You can craft the Kuku Lightning Spear at Kilnden Workshop in west central Hernand after receiving the Blueprint from Elowen, the Red Witch of Wisdom, by purifying the Sanctum of Temperance next to Pororin and the Hernand Highlands in eastern Hernand.

You’ll need a Lightning Spear, 10 Small Batteries, 2 Electrical Components, and a Kuku Spear to craft the Kuku Lightning Spear.

Bismuth Spear

Attack Icon

Attack: 27

Bismuth Icon

Bismuth Affinity

Consumes a charge to deal bismuth damage to the target. This effect can be charged up to 5 times, with each charge having a 5 second cooldown.

A spear made from bismuth ore. When struck, crystals grow through the victim’s veins, turning the body rigid as stone and greatly slowing movement. A brief recharge time is required after an attack.

You can find a Bismuth Spear on a dedicated weapon stand at the Well of Enlightenment in the Forebearer’s Barrens (I hear that’s where they’re shooting The Rural Juror 3) of the Crimson Desert.

After completing Chapter IX: Sage of the Desert, you can send Mission Dispatches to the Well of Enlightenment to craft additional Bismuth Spears. Unlike the others, there is no Research associated with the Bisumuth Spear.

Kuku Bismuth Spear Icon

A bismuth spear reinforced with a kuku spear. By using the pot to condense bismuth ores to their absolute limit, every swing of the spear causes newly formed resolutions to burst forth in all directions. It also retains its ability to petrify enemies, slowing them down as if they were turned to stone.

The Kuku Bismuth Spear does not break after use, is upgradeable, has Abyss Gear sockets, and can be used far more frequently than the non-Kuku version.

You can craft the Kuku Bismuth Spear at Kilnden Workshop in west central Hernand after receiving the Blueprint from Bari, the Blue Witch of Kindness, by purifying Sanctum of Solace in south central Pailune.

You’ll need a Bismuth Spear, 10 Small Batteries, 4 Bismuth Ore, and a Kuku Spear to craft the Kuku Bismuth Spear.

Propeller Spear

Attack Icon

Attack: 27

Attack Speed Lv 1

Wind Skill Icon (Storm VVeil)

Gale Burst

Consumes a charge to shoot wind forward, knocking back the target. This effect can be charged up to 5 times, with each charge having a 5 second cooldown.

A wind spear that unleashes powerful gusts. The thruster at the tip rapidly compresses the surrounding air, blasting out a fierce gust of wind when striking an enemy.

You can find the Propeller Spear on its own stand in the turret above the teleporter at the Aeronautical Research Base on the southeastern coast of Delesyia.

You learn the recipe to craft the Propeller Spear yourself after completing the Basic Science Research Project at the Delesyian Institute.

You can also send out Mission Dispatches to Helmara after liberating it from the Helms and completing the Wind Energy Fusion Device Research Project at the Research Institute at the Great Gate of Urdavah.

Gale Burst (Kuku Edition)

Consumes a charge to shoot wind forward, knocking back the target. This effect can be charged up to 10 times, with each charge having a 2 second cooldown.

Kuku Propeller Spear Icon

A propeller spear reinforced with a kuku spear. Rather than acting as a simple power source, the pot’s internal machinery generates and traps an artificial typhoon. Upon activation, a compressed gust erupts, blowing enemies away.

You can craft the Kuku Propeller Spear at Kilnden Workshop in west central Hernand after receiving the Blueprint from Bari, the Blue Witch of Kindness, by purifying the Sanctum of Atonement on Haunted Hill, about halfway between Calphade and Hernand Town.

You’ll need a Propeller Spear, 5 Small Batteries, 2 Electrical Components, 10 Cogwheels, and a Kuku Spear to craft a Kuku Propeller Spear.

Shields

Most Shields with unique effects are destructible and non-upgradeable, so you’ll have to farm them if you want to use them.

Gale Shield

Defence Icon

Defense: 6

Attack Speed Lv 1

Movement Speed Lv 1

Stormy Retribution

Consumes a charge when using Shield Bash to release a gust of wind that knocks back enemies. This effect can be charged up to 3 times and blocking 3 enemy attacks grants 1 charge.

Gale Shield Icon

A shield that can absorb and store impact. It can unleash the force of the attacks the shield absorbed as wind.

The Gale Shield is not upgradeable and breaks when its durability runs out from blocking things. There is currently no Kuku version of this specific shield, but there are upgradeable versions with similar effects.

You can find a Gale Shield resting on a small table in an alcove at Redsand Helmhole northeast of Tomasso in the Tashkalp region of the Crimson Desert.

You can make more Gale Shields by sending out Mission Dispatches to Helmara next door after liberating it from the Helms and completing the Wind Energy Fusion Device Research Project at the Research Institute at the Great Gate of Urdavah.

Shotgun Shield

Defence Icon

Defense: 7

Movement Speed Lv 2

Ironwrath

Consumes a charge when using Shield Bash to fire a shotgun shell that damages and knocks back enemies. This effect can be charged up to 3 times and blocking 3 enemy attacks grants 1 charge.

Shotgun Shield Icon

A shield that can absorb and store impact. It can use the force of the attacks the shield absorbed as a detonator for its shotgun.

The Shotgun Shield is not upgradeable and breaks when its durability runs out from blocking things. There is currently no Kuku version of this specific shield, but there are upgradeable versions with similar effects.

You can find a Shotgun Shield resting on a small table in the back of the workshop at Helmara, northeast of Tomasso, in the Tashkalp region of the Crimson Desert.

Despite Shotgun Shields being used by the Helms who occupy Helmara and another type of shield being produced there, you’ll need to send Mission Dispatches to the Aeronautical Research Base all the way on southeastern coast of Delesyia, which makes that instead of the Propeller Spear you find there.

Shield of Ringing

Defence Icon

Defense: 5

Attack Speed Lv 2

Deafening Retribution

Consumes a charge when using Shield Bash to temporarily daze enemies. This effect can be charged up to 3 times and blocking 3 enemy attacks grants 1 charge.

Shield of Ringing Icon

A shield that can absorb and store impact. It can unleash the force of the attacks the shield absorbed as noise to temporarily deafen enemies.

The Shield of Ringing is not upgradeable and breaks when its durability runs out from blocking things. There is currently no Kuku version of this specific shield, but there are upgradeable versions with similar effects.

You can find a Shield of Ringing on a table in a tent at The Laughing Marionette circus outside of the Demenissian capital.

They drop readily from The Masked Liberator’s army of The Faceless goons who blockade Fort Manub, east of Tomasso in the Tashkalp region of the Crimson Desert.

For some reason, there’s a Large-Scale Mining Mission Dispatch there, rather than one that lets you craft the Shield of Ringing.

Drake Shield

Defence Icon

Defense: 3 → 15

Movement Speed Lv 2

Draconic Retribution

Consumes a charge when using Shield Bash to release dragonfire breath that damages and knocks back enemies. This effect can be charged up to 3 times and blocking 3 enemy attacks grants 1 charge.

Drake Shield

A shield once used by Tristan, the Flame Knight. It bears a device shaped like some unknown creature. It can unleash the force of the attacks the shield absorbed as fire.

The Drake Shield is functionally the same as the Runewalker Shield in that they are upgradeable versions of shields with baked in effects. Unfortunately, there is no cooldown, and you don’t need to block as much as these shields require to recharge them, so you’re trading these effects for two Abyss Gear sockets.

You can find the Drake Shield resting on a table at Flame Knights Castle in western Demeniss after defeating Tristan, the Flame Knight, there.

Runewalker Shield

Defence Icon

Defense: 3 → 15

Movement Speed Lv 2

Runic Retribution

Consumes a charge when using Shield Bash to fire a Runewalker’s laser pulse that damages and knocks back enemies. This effect can be charged up to 3 times and blocking 3 enemy attacks grants 1 charge.

Runewalker Shield Icon

A shield made from a piece of Vordis, the Runewalker’s head after defeating it. It can unleash the force of the attacks the shield absorbed as a powerful pulse.

The Runewalker Shield is functionally the same as the Drake Shield in that they are upgradeable versions of shields with baked in effects. Unfortunately, there is no cooldown, and you don’t need to block as much as these shields require to recharge them, so you’re trading these effects for two Abyss Gear sockets.

You can find the Runewalker Shield out in front of the Kharonso Equipment Shop, free for the taking, after defeating Vordis, the Runewalker, at Lake Kharonso near Scholastone in Hernand.

Others

These weapons don’t fit neatly into one of the other categories.

Eastern Witch’s Fan

Attack Icon

Attack: 10 → 33

Unique Moveset

Attacks with a fan and replaces Kliff’s Forward Slash, Turning Slash, Spinning Slash, and Evasive Slash with stormwind-themed attacks.

Wind Skill Icon (Storm VVeil)

Storm Caller

Sweep away the clouds and clear up the sky. This effect has a 10 minute cooldown.

A fan engraved with mysterious patterns, received from the witch of the east. When wielded as a weapon, it allows the user to borrow the witches’ power to command a harmony of wind and lightning. With gusts strong enough to push even rain clouds away, it is capable of clearing overcast skies to load a bright, sunny day.

The Eastern Witch’s Fan is classified as a Tool and is only usable by Kliff. It replaces his moveset with fan attacks and has a Skill that does the same thing as the Radiant Necklace on a shorter 10 min cooldown. Only the Skill has the cooldown. Otherwise, it’s a normal weapon.

The Fan has no Abyss Gear sockets but is fully upgradeable, requiring (Flawless) Timber, Cloth, and Ivory to upgrade.

While it is depicted in Chapter VIII: Blood Coronation, the acquisition method for the Eastern Witch’s Fan is entirely unrelated to the quest. You can loot the Eastern Witch’s Fan from a treasure chest in an unmarked cavern on the southeastern coast of the Serpent Marsh between Demeniss and Delesyia.

Air Blaster

Attack Icon

Attack: 24

Bow Icon

Air Blaster

Fires a blast of air that knocks enemies back without consuming cannonballs.

Air Blaster Icon

A blaster that can compress and fire air. The compressed air unleashes a powerful blast of pressure, sending enemies flying on contact.

The Air Blaster is only usable by Oongka. Its chief advantage is being a way to continue firing his Blaster even after running out of cannonballs, but they could have just built such a feature into the main Blaster, rather than require players to juggle another piece of equipment.

Air Blasters have a chance to drop from the Wyvernflames who wield them at Fort Windridge on Three Brothers’ Cliff on the southwestern coast of Dewhaven in Delesyia.

You can craft more Air Blasters by sending out Mission Dispatches to Fort Windridge after liberating it from the Wyvernflames and completing the Wind Energy Fusion Device Research Project at the Research Institute at the Great Gate of Urdavah.

Packs

Packs don’t always have offensive properties, so while we could include the ones that do here, we think it’s better to have one guide for all the special packs rather than split them up.

Endonae

Endonae

Endonae is a passionate gamer who's particularly fond of challenging action RPGs and open world games with visceral combat. The closer it is to being a Soulslike, the better. Ranged casters, particularly of the energy or elemental variety, are his bread and butter. Lightsabers are pretty cool, too.
