Pearl Abyss released the 2.0 update and patch notes for Crimson Desert on August 25th, 2026, dubbed the Enhanced Edition, which includes some major improvements and the usual swathe of bug fixes.

Patch 2.00.00 Highlights

Highlights for the Crimson Desert Enhanced Edition include a better Skill learning system, improved main story quest, and support for additional languages.

Skill Learning System and NG+

Abyss Artifacts that you use to unlock Skills now get transformed into Abyss Links, which allow you to unlock Skills for Damiane and Oongka without spending additional Abyss Artifacts.

This change effectively reduces the number of Abyss Artifacts you need to spend in the Skill Tree by two thirds and reduces the friction associated with the short segments of the story where you have to play as Oongka or Damiane.

Since each Abyss Artifact effectively counts as a Skill point for each character now, there isn’t any reason or mechanism to respec each time you play as someone other than Kliff.

These changes mean you will need to reallocate all your Skill Points again, but you will have more Abyss Artifacts left over, and you won’t need to respec all 3 characters at the same time ever again.

When you first log in to Crimson Desert after updating to 2.00.00, you will receive a notification of your skill points being reset and the spent materials and items being returned to you.

The items you see in this window, will be different depending on your current progress with the game and its story and side quests.

That’s right, in addition to improving the Abyss Artifact economy, respeccing one character does not reset the Skills for the other characters, either, so you won’t need to reapply all the points for Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka if you just want to change your skills for Damiane, for example.

There’s also a feature reminiscent of New Game+ that allows you to transfer all your currencies (including Abyss Artifacts) over to a new save after completing the Main Story.

Main Story Quest Improvements

The notes were light on details, but they specify that there are new cutscenes and story moments throughout the main questline.

We expect that the changes have to do with introducing characters like Damiane, Oongka, Jian, Torstein, and maybe the folks you meet in the Abyss.

There’s probably also a bit more backstory given to Cassius Morten, the random antagonist of Chapter VI: Cracks in the Shield, and Hexe Marie, one of the bosses you fight during Chapter IX: Sage of the Desert.

We anticipate these main story changes will also help support the upcoming DLC due out later this year that’s rumored to take place at sea.

New Skills for Kliff

Kliff can now learn 8 new skills. They are upgrades to existing skills and aren’t something insane, but more like quality of life improvements for both in and out of combat situations. The list includes:

  • Force Palm Upgrade – Flowing Force Palm (Spirit)
  • Force Palm Upgrade – Ascending Force Palm (Spirit)
  • Keen Senses Upgrade – Enraged Parry (Spirit)
  • Double Jump Upgrade – Water Slide (Spirit)
  • Diving Force Palm Upgrade – Descending Force Palm (Spirit)
  • Focus Upgrade – Serenity (Spirit)
  • Flight Upgrade – Enhanced Flight (Health)
  • Armed Combat – Finishing Rush (Spirit)

The abilities become available as you progress through Crimson Desert’s main storyline. You will still have to spend Abyss Artifacts to unlock them, of course.

All of the new abilities are upgraded versions of existing abilities and they either enhance them or add new functionalities such as the ability to jump higher, land quicker, and run on water.

New Language Support

Crimson Desert Enhanced features voice-over support for German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese. In addition, you can play the game with subtitles and the game’s UI in Arabic.

To access the new languages, navigate to:
Main Menu → Settings → Others → Language and Audio.
