After the major upgrade to Trading and Banking with last week’s 1.16, Patch 1.17 brings only 7 bugfixes, but if you are a Completionist, one of them might be just what you needed!
At the time of this publication, the patch is live on most platforms, including Steam (PC and Mac), PlayStation, XBOX, and the Epic Games Store. It is not yet available on Mac App Store. Our coverage is based on the Steam PC version of the game.
Update 1.17.00 Changes
Update 1.16 was one of the biggest patches for the game so far. It was followed by a surprising high amount of hotfixes – 4 to be exact.
Shortly after the release of 1.16.04, just when when we thought the devs might skip a week because the they were too busy with the previous update cycle, patch 1.17.00 dropped!
This update brings single-digit number of bugfixes and no new content. Many of you probably still have a ton of Trading Posts to visit and quests to wrap up from last week.
Or perhaps you are still busy farming Golden Apples for Bonds to buy the ridiculously expensive new decos? I know I am!

Content
- Fixed an issue where progress toward the “Desperate Rescue” challenge was not counted correctly.
- Fixed an issue where an unintended item was assigned to the quick slot after all of the assigned food had been consumed.
- Fixed an issue where the unique effects of special headgear did not activate properly in specific situations.
The Desperate Rescue Challenge is one of the Battle Challenges in Crimson Desert, included in Combat Challenges group and it requires you to heal exhausted allies 3 times using Healing Force Palm.
To unlock this challenge, you first need to obtain the Sealed Abyss Artifact in southwestern Hernand.
You can summon the other 2 playable characters to have them hang around you and help you in battle. They are not the best at staying alive, and when they go down, you can use Healing Force Palm to resuscitate them.

- Fixed an issue where footstep sounds could overlap or animations could stutter while the player was moving.
UI
- Fixed an issue where icons of unobtainable treasure chests appeared on the map.
- Fixed an issue where trade routes appeared on the map in an abnormal way.
Localization
- Fixed various localization errors and improved localization quality across all languages.
Known Issues after 1.17.00
The list of known bugs and issues that Pearl Abyss is working on fixing, was also updated alongside the release of patch 1.17.00, on 7th of August, 2026:
- Fish being caught while fishing in certain areas are unable to move.
- Greymane faction quests cannot be progressed while playing as Damiane or Oongka.
- If the “Evasion Control” option is set to “Hold,” the default Evasion key still functions even after the Evasion key has been changed.NPCs required for quest progression cannot ride together on Legendary Animal mounts.
- [Mac] When using a keyboard and mouse at certain resolutions, the cursor position differs from the actual furniture placement point.
- [Mac] The colorblind filter is not applied to the UI when “Colorblind Mode” is enabled.
- [PlayStation] The screen may freeze if characters are entered rapidly while using the virtual keyboard to set the name of a pet or horse.
- Please enter characters slowly with brief pauses when changing names. We apologize for the inconvenience.
- On NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPUs, enabling ‘FSR Upscaling’ and ‘Frame Generation’ causes the screen to appear white.
- When using FSR4 upscaling, an issue occurs in rainy environments where rain disappears, or the screen becomes blurry or distorted.
