Crimson Desert Harmonious Hooves Horse Challenges Guide

Where to find the Sealed Abyss Artifacts that unlock all 10 of the Harmonious Hooves challenges in Crimson Desert and tips on how to complete each one.

Harmonious Hooves I

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves I Challenge at the road junction northeast of Reventine Monastery along the border between Hernand and Demeniss.

Challenge

Tame 2 Wild Horses

Solution

Pick normal horses to tame (not the legendary ones) to make it easier and follow the instructions in our horse taming guide.

Harmonious Hooves II

While riding a horse, hunt 5 animals within 5 minutes

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves II Challenge along the road near the bridge you can build behind St. Halssius’ House of Healing in eastern Hernand.

Challenge

While riding a horse, hunt 5 animals within 5 minutes

Solution

Just use your bow and stay on your horse until you’ve hit 5 animals.

Harmonious Hooves III

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves III Challenge in the middle of Ironwood Farm in southern Demeniss.

Challenge

While riding a horse, defeat 20 enemies within 5 minutes

Solution

It’s easiest to complete this challenge with a bow. Be careful not to get stuck in the middle of a bunch of enemies. If they hit you enough, you’ll get bucked off the horse and have to start over.

Harmonious Hooves IV

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves IV Challenge along the road leading to Sunset Valley, south of the Mountain of Frozen Souls.

Challenge

Go from Sunset Valley to Varnia within 40 minutes on horseback

Solution

It only takes about 20 minutes to get from Sunset Valley to Varnia riding on Royler. Just stick to the main road and do not get off your horse until the game says you’ve completed the challenge.

Don’t attempt this until you’ve completed Chapter VIII: Blood Coronation, lest you have to contend with Bastier’s Inquisitors patrolling all of Demeniss.

Harmonious Hooves V

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves V Challenge along the road on the west side of Springdale Farm in northern Demeniss.

Challenge

Successfully mount a horse 3 times while descending from the air

Solution

If you land on top of a horse while flying, you will automatically mount them. There are a whole bunch of horses up by the Horse Fence in the Hills of No Return in Hernand.

Harmonious Hooves VI

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves VI Challenge near the entrance to the Church of West Demeniss from the main road.

Challenge

Travel from the Silvermoon Tradehouse to Vellua within 10 minutes on horseback

Solution

The time limit on this one is pretty tight. Definitely use a max level Royler to give yourself some breathing room. Below is the path I took, and I managed to do it in ~8 minutes. The red arrows show where I went off-road.

I highly recommend staying on the main road as much as possible because if you fall off your horse, you fail the challenge and have to start over. It can be tempting to try and cut through Pororin, but the area is chock full of uneven terrain.

Harmonious Hooves VII

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves VII Challenge at a fork in the road along the border between Hernand and Demeniss leading to The Ironwood.

Challenge

Ride a Priden, Britano, Numont, and Elantrima for over 100m each

Solution

You’ll need to acquire each type of Horse to complete this quest. The Herspia and Britano you and Damiane start with don’t count for this challenge, or at least they didn’t when I did it.

Harmonious Hooves VIII

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves VIII Challenge in an altar at Ridgehunter Tannery along the treacherous road through the Wayward Woods in central Pailune.

Challenge

While riding a horse, ram into and defeat 30 enemies ahead within 5 minutes

Solution

Horses gain the ability to charge by holding RT | R2 | RMB while moving somewhat fast, but a horse can’t sprint and charge at the same time. If you start charging too far away from enemies, they will dive out of the way.

Numonts and Legendary Horses have the ability to charge at enemies. It’s easiest to do this with a max level Camora since that horse has the highest Attack and Defense stat.

Harmonious Hooves IX

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves IX Challenge on the road near a bridge across the river between Gorthak and Dewhaven in Delesyia.

Challenge

Leave the City of Delesyia at night and arrive at the City of Pailune before sunrise on horseback

Solution

The game considers nighttime to be around 9 PM in-game. You have plenty of time with Royler by just taking the main road through Delesyia → Demeniss → Pailune, but take it slow going through Gorthak until you pass through the Gate of Peace.

There are a ton of sharpened logs along your path and if you bump into one, you will fall off. The fact that it’s nighttime doesn’t help. The Kingshield Mountains can also be tricky. Don’t try any shortcuts and make sure you don’t go down into the quarry.

Harmonious Hooves X

You can find the Sealed Artifact that unlocks the Harmonious Hooves X Challenge along the cliff road leading into Timeworn Ruins in the eastern part of the Tashkalp region of the Crimson Desert.
