Crimson Desert Nature’s Snare Guide: Controls, Puzzles, and Combat

Nature’s Snare is one of Crimson Desert’s few Multi-purpose skills. This guide covers its uses both in and out of combat.

How to Unlock Nature’s Snare

Nature’s Snare is a very important skill that you can get through observation or by simply spending an Abyss Artifact. If you don’t want to spend an Abyss Artifact, simply go to the Haunted Hill in Hernand and Observe the Apparition.

Please note that Nature’s Snare uses Spirit every second it’s active. You need to have Focus in order to recharge your Spirit. Focus is learned during Chapter II of the main story.

Nature’s Snare Controls

It’s important to note that Nature’s Snare can only be performed in Focus mode as long as you have enough Spirit. Here are the controls for Nature’s Snare on all platforms:

  • PC: Hold Right Click
  • PlayStation: L3 + R3
  • Xbox: LS + RS

Using Nature’s Snare in Combat

Nature’s Snare is arguably the most useful ability against enemies that shoot multiple projectiles, especially when they deal AOE damage. You can grab all of them and redirect them into your foe.

It’s not equally effective against all, but it can be the difference between losing the battle and coming out on top. Especially when fighting difficult bosses like those encountered in the last three chapters of the main story.

You can even use it against large groups of weaker enemies. Even if they aren’t shooting arrows, you can use this ability to hit everyone who’s in front of you.

Channeling Nature’s Snare when an enemy is very close to you will also push them back a bit. This allows you to keep gaining Spirit for a few seconds before anyone can interrupt you.

Though I’d advise thinking twice before using this against powerful bosses, because timing can be tricky, and not all of them are affected by the pushback.

Nature’s Snare is an ability that can backfire when using it on objects that explode on impact. If you do this, there’s a high chance of them colliding into each other and causing an explosion that will do some damage, as well as interrupting your channeling of the ability.

This principle also applies to objects like explosive barrels, often found in occupied forts or mines.

Using Nature’s Snare out of combat

If you acquired Nature’s Snare by observing it in Haunted Hill, then you already know that this is more than just a flashy combat ability. Nature’s Snare can be used to complete puzzles where abilities like Force Palm or Axiom Force don’t work.

Use Nature’s Snare on objects that have gaps, holes, levers, that can spin or be moved from their initial position. There is a considerable number of objects that meet these characteristics.

It can be confusing the first time you encounter these puzzles, but you’ll get better at identifying them as you progress. As a general rule, if it looks like it can be moved, but other abilities don’t work, try Nature’s Snare.
