There are three types of armor in Crimson Desert: Plate, Leather and Cloth. We will tell you what are the perceived stat differences and show you what all outfits look like in this catalog.

How Armor works in Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert doesn’t have statistically best armor or accessories because everything has the same stats (with a few balanced variations). You can freely switch Abyss Gears into any other armor you’d prefer to use.
The fact that all armor and accessories provide more or less the same stats means that you can wear whatever you think looks the best and not have to worry about looking ugly or the same as everyone else.
There are 3 different types of upgradeable armor in Crimson Desert, including Cloth, Leather, and Plate. These types determine defensive stats and bonuses.
All armor pieces of each type have identical defensive stats and bonuses. All armor pieces for a given slot have the same number of Abyss Gear sockets. Sometimes, the same armor set will have pieces from multiple different weight classes.
The overall structure follows the “heaviness” of the sets. For example, Plate armor offers highest defense values, but lacks other perks such as attack power and mobility.
Plate Armor
Plate armor offers the highest Defense. Plate Headgear also offers Daze Immunity and Plate Cloaks offer 3 levels of Fire Resistance.
Leather Sets
Leather armor offers middling Defense. Each piece of leather gear also grants 1 level of Lightning Resistance, but Leather Cloaks give 3 levels instead.
Cloth Sets
Cloth armor offers the lowest Defense. In exchange for lower Defense, Cloth armor offers an additional 2 levels of Movement Speed.

The Bolton Plate Armor set features a satin blue cloak and sash draped over silver plate armor with yellow accents. This is the armor for Hernand’s elite soldiers.
