How to get the Grey Wolf’s Leather Armor in Crimson Desert (Kliff’s Graymane Classic Outfit)

Endonae by Endonae|

This guide will show you what the Grey Wolf’s Leather set looks like (it’s the full set from the box art, with weapons), what unique benefits it provides, and how to get it in Crimson Desert!

Appearance

The Grey Wolf Leather set is obtainable by all players in Crimson Desert and features Kliff’s canonical appearance from Crimson Desert’s key art.

You’ll actually look like the leader of the Greymanes as you charge into battle against the Black Bears and Jackals.

Kliff’s Secondary Weapons and Helmet are not shown on the box art, so we’ve come up with what we believe he would wield.

Stats

The Grey Wolf Leather set consists of 10 fully upgradeable pieces (with a few non-upgradeable alternatives) and is wearable by Kliff. As Leather Armor, it features moderate defense, Tier I Lightning Resistance, and a little bit of extra Critical Rate on unarmed attacks.

Acquisition

You can obtain the Grey Wolf Leather set from several locations across Hernand and Pailune.

Kliff’s Greymane Helmet Location

Kliff does not wear a helmet in his canon appearance, so we recommend using whichever you like and hiding it at all times.

That being said, the Alpha Wolf Helm is very fitting, if suboptimal. You can obtain it from a chest at the Sanctum of Deliverance on Stormtalon Ridge, west of Calphade.

Kliff’s Greymane Armor Location

You can obtain Kliff’s Grey Wolf’s Leather Armor set by purchasing it or crafting it. Purchasing it is cheaper, but you can craft it much earlier.

Purchasing the Set

You can purchase Kliff’s full Grey Wolf’s Leather armor set from the Tailor’s Shop in Pailune City, but you’ll need to complete Chapter VII: Homecoming before this vendor becomes available.

She’ll only sell some of the pieces until you get her to Trust 100, which you can do by giving her Copper Pouches and Flower Basket Collectibles.

You can also purchase them from the Greymane’s own Tailor. You unlock him after completing his quest, The Wolf’s Ballad. You get this quest in Pailune, but it sends you to the far east of the continent, which is intended to be a late-game region.

The quest involves beating an unusual boss, but it’s mechanic-specific and you should be able to do it without powerful gear.

Crafting with Leather Armors of the World, Vols. II and IV

You can craft the entire set with Leather Armors of the World, Vols. II and IV. Volume II lets you craft the Grey Wolf’s Leather Boots, and Volume IV lets you craft the rest.

You can find Leather Armors of the World, Vol. II, on a bookshelf in a house at Totesmith Tannery near Glenbright Farm and Emberwind Workshop on the Hernand Highlands.

You can purchase Leather Armors of the World, Vol. IV from the Tannery at Forentin Lodge outside of Vellua in southern Hernand for a whopping 80 silver, but the tanner only sells it after you’ve reached Trust 100 with him by giving him gifts or visiting him lots.

Kliff’s Greymane Sword Location

The Grey Wolf’s Sword is what Kliff uses in the key art for the game, but you get the Wolf’s Fang sooner, and it feels like a natural upgrade that Kliff would use Jian’s blade upon finding it.

Grey Wolf’s Sword

You can purchase the Grey Wolf’s Sword from the Equipment Shop in Pailune City for 11.33 silver after liberating it in Chapter VII: Homecoming.

You can also craft it with One-Handed Weapons of the World, Vol. IV, but that’s all the way over in Delesyia.

Wolf’s Fang

You find the Wolf’s Fang beneath the Church of West Demeniss during Chapter V: Guest Unbidden.

Kliff’s Greymane Shield Location

Kliff uses the Freesword’s Shield, which you can craft with the recipe from Shields of the World, Vol. 3. You can steal it from the main room on the top floor of the residential part of Calphade Castle in Hernand. You’ll need to complete Chapter IV: Cracks in the Shield before you can get it.

Did you know that there are accessible upper floors in that castle? I missed it the first time…and the second. The entrance is right next to the door to the room where you fight Cassius Morten.

Ignir (Longsword)

You may want to consider using Hound, a Two-Handed Sword, up until this point.

Ignir is Duane’s longsword. Torstein passes it on to Kliff after you defeat Ludvig as Oongka near Stellen Manor on the border between Hernand, Pailune, and Demeniss at the very end of Chapter VII: Homecoming.

King’s Dagger

You can loot the King’s Dagger from a chest underneath the headstone at Totemfelt, just a little bit north of Pailune City. To get inside, stand on the Spirit leaf that’s revealed with your Lantern and do Force Palm at the headstone. That will open the secret passage.

The King’s Dagger is a BiS weapon until the very late game when you can get Aserion’s weapons.

Kliff’s Greymane Bow Location

You have two options for Greymane Bows, the Grey Wolf Bow and the Noble Man’s Bow.

The Noble Man’s Bow has a similar relationship to the Grey Wolf Bow as the Wolf’s Fang does to the Grey Wolf’s Sword, but unlike with the Wolf’s Fang, you really have to dye it if you don’t want it to clash with the rest of the outfit.

Grey Wolf Bow

The Grey Wolf Bow is part of Kliff’s starting equipment. You can’t sell or store it, so you’ve probably been upgrading and using it this whole time, or it’s hiding in a group in your inventory with other purple weapons of its ilk.

Noble Man’s Bow

You can loot the Noble Man’s Bow from a chest in Valgrind Tomb (Jian’s grave) on the northern outskirts of Pailune City. It’s in a hidden room right next to the entrance.

Wolf Cloak Location

When it gets chilly outside or you want to blend in with your namesake beasts, swap out your Grey Wolf Cloak for the regular Wolf Cloak. You can buy it from the Provisioner’s Shop in Kharonso, south of Scholastone in Hernand.

You can’t upgrade it, but you ain’t getting a steady supply of Ivory until you make it to the Crimson Desert, so its defensive stats will remain the same as the Grey Wolf’s Cloak for most of the game.
