Endonae by Endonae|

This guide will show you what the Ashen set looks like, what unique benefits it provides, and how to get it in Crimson Desert!

Appearance

The Ashen set is obtainable by all players in Crimson Desert and features a smattering of legendary white beast pelts and horns layered over plate armor, resulting in a bulky, resilient look that’s perfect for braving the Pailunese wilds.

This set is worn by Tarandus the Ashen, an optional boss you can fight in Odeck.

Stats

The core Ashen set consists of 6 fully upgradeable pieces and is wearable by Kliff and Oongka, though we’ve included some additional pieces that help complete the set.

The set features a combination of Leather and Plate pieces, leaning heavily towards Plate, offering higher than average Defense, Tier I Cold Resistance, and Daze Immunity.

Acquisition

You can obtain the Ashen set primarily from completing Life Challenges that get unlocked by picking up Sealed Abyss Artifacts around Odeck in Pailune. Several of them require you to explore the game pretty thoroughly, making this one of the harder sets to get.

Tarandus the Ashen’s Helmet Location

You can purchase The Ashen’s Plate Helm from the Back Alley Shop near Odeck Pier in northwestern Pailune. You may need to reach 100 Trust with the vendor and/or clear out the Black Bears there before he’ll sell it.

Tarandus the Ashen’s Chestpiece and Greathammer Location

You receive both The Ashen’s Plate Armor and Ashen Execution for defeating Tarandus the Ashen in Odeck in northwestern Pailune as part of the Odeck Tribe Faction Quest called “Executioner of Justice”.

Only Oongka can wield Ashen Execution, but it pairs well with his default Dekaar Greataxe or Silverwolf Axes. In general, the set is tailored more for Oongka’s build, rather than Kliff’s.

Tarandus the Ashen’s Cloak Location

You receive The Ashen’s Leather Cloak for completing the Life Challenge “Tiny Citizens of Grasslands”, which you can unlock by picking up the Sealed Abyss Artifact at the fork in the road near the Beast Hunter’s Camp on the way to Odeck in Pailune.

Tarandus the Ashen’s Gloves Location

You receive The Ashen’s Plate Gloves for completing the Life Challenge “On a Storm of Beasts”, which you can unlock by picking up the Sealed Abyss Artifact at Odeck Floodgate in northwestern Pailune.

Tarandus the Ashen’s Boots Location

You receive The Ashen’s Leather Boots for completing the Life Challenge “Caves Exploration Log”, which you can unlock by picking up the Sealed Abyss Artifact along the road connecting Whisperleaf Fortress to Longleaf in northwestern Pailune.

These items are not officially connected to Tarandus the Ashen or his armor set but given that parts of his attire were crafted from legendary white beasts, we think these other treasures forged from other legendary beasts throughout Pywel are a great fit.

White Lion Necklace Location

You receive the White Lion Necklace for defeating the White Lion located between a pair of Desert Ruins to the east of the road to Varnia in the northernmost part of the Crimson Desert.

White Horn’s Earring 1 Location

You receive the first White Horn’s Earring for defeating White Horn at Snowhaven Hearth in western Pailune at the end of the Skoghorn Faction Quest called “Soul Shepherd”.

White Horn’s Earring 2 Location

You can steal the second White Horn’s Earring from a safe-cracking puzzle strongbox inside Delesyia Castle.

The strongbox is located behind a fake fireplace in the large ballroom. Just like with fake bookshelves, you just have to walk into it and Kliff will push it automatically.

White Horn Ring Location

You receive the White Horn Ring for defeating the Clockwork White Horn in the Clockwork Heart at the end of the Eternal Corridor above Delesyia.

Tigerfang Ring Location

You receive the Tigerfang Ring for defeating the White Tiger in Serpenthead Valley in the jungle that separates Delesyia from the Crimson Desert.
