Appearance
The Lightning Bolt Plate set is obtainable by all players in Crimson Desert and features a combination of grey stone and gold metal plates with a centurion helmet and very long staff.
The set does not have a cloak of its own and, at the time of publishing, none of it is dyeable. The stone staff is a different color from the stone plate armor as well.
The Lightning Bolt Plate set is worn by Titan, the Thunder God, so you’ll definitely want to Imbue Lightning with this set.
Stats
The Lightning Bolt Plate set consists of 5 fully upgradeable pieces and is wearable solely by Kliff.
While the set boasts high Defense and Daze Immunity thanks to its Plate Armor foundation, the upgrade path and number of Abyss Gear sockets are unique.
The base Lightning Bolt Plate Armor is not upgradeable, but you can take it to Kilnden Workshop to upgrade it to Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor, which comes Refined to Tier 5.
The chestpiece lacks Abyss Gear sockets but offers Lv 10 Lightning Resistance (Tier I), a unique effect, and Attack Speed Lv 3 alongside the aforementioned Plate-level Defense, enabling it to fully compensate for the lack of sockets.

Special Effect:
Grants resistance to electrocution, while absorbing and storing lightning damage. The armor will begin to glow once fully charged. This state lasts for 10 seconds, during which any attack received will unleash a powerful burst of lightning damage when struck.

Lightning God’s Affliction Abyss Gear
Abyss Gear Effect:
Upon Parrying, calls down lightning strikes to deal damage to attacking enemies.
Orbs of Lightning Abyss Gear
Abyss Gear Effect:
Lightning-Imbued attacks summon orbs that smite nearby enemies with bolts of lightning.
Storm Fang Abyss Gear
Abyss Gear Effect:
Lightning-Imbued attacks send out lightning bolts that chain through and shock multiple enemies.
Fullmoon Slash Abyss Gear
Abyss Gear Effect:
Light Attack sequences conclude with a wave of lightning.
Acquisition
You can obtain the Lightning Bolt Plate set from different locations across Pywel. The core set is mostly found in Pailune.
Lightning Bolt Plate Helmet Location
You can loot the Lightning Bolt Plate Helm from a chest in the Suspicious Pit (cave). The entrance to the Suspicious Pit is covered by a tent at Forest Hearth in northeastern Pailune.
Lightning Bolt Plate Chestpiece Location
Remember, the base Lightning Bolt Plate Armor is not upgradeable, but you’ll need it to make the Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor that is upgradeable and comes with some unique effects.
Lightning Bolt Plate Armor Location
You receive the Lightning Bolt Plate Armor for defeating Titan, the Thunder God, at Windsong Peaks in the northeast corner of Pailune. You can’t fight him there until you unlock the Ancient Barrier quest and reconnect the Ancient Lightning Device.
Since the Lightning Bolt Plate Armor is not upgradeable and just defeated Pywel’s Thor, there’s little reason to wear it by the time you can get it.
Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor
You can craft the Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor at Kilnden Workshop in Hernand after obtaining the Blueprint for it.
The Blueprint for Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor is your reward for cleansing the Sanctum of Expiation near the northern corner of the border between Hernand and Demeniss.
To craft it, you’ll need an Enhanced Kuku Pot, the Lightning Bolt Plate Armor, a Power Core – Ore of Resipiscence, and the Core of Penitence.
Lightning Bolt Plate Cloak Location
There is no Lightning Bolt Plate Cloak in Crimson Desert. We strongly recommend pairing it with the Northern Fighter’s Chain Cloak to make it look like your shoulders are covered in thunderclouds.
You can purchase the Northern Fighter’s Chain Cloak from the Equipment Shop in Pailune City.
Another strong option is the Hungering Fang’s Leather Cloak from Ludvig’s set.
Lightning Bolt Plate Gloves Location
You can loot the Lightning Bolt Plate Gloves from a chest at the Sanctum of Exaltation on the east side of Silver Wolf Mountain in northern Pailune. It’s locked behind a grate, but you just have to light the two torches to open it.
Combat God’s Plate Gloves Location
We strongly recommend using the Combat God’s Plate Gloves with this set instead of the Lightning Bolt Plate Gloves because they match thematically; they seem to be the best Gloves in the game; and they look good with the Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor.
You receive the Combat God’s Plate Gloves for completing the quest Emperor of the Bonepit by winning 4 matches in a row at the fighting ring in Tomasso, the city in Tashkalp on the southern edge of the Crimson Desert.
These gloves come equipped with The Showstopper Abyss Gear.
Lightning Bolt Plate Boots Location
You can purchase the Lightning Bolt Plate Boots from Bari, the Blue Witch of Kindness, at the Crimson Lake on Silver Wolf Mountain in northern Pailune.
These boots only become purchasable if you talk to her while you have the Ring of Lightning equipped after defeating Titan, the Thunder God.
The Lightning Bolt Plate Boots were not obtainable in-game prior to Update 1.05.00.
Lightning Bolt Plate Weapon Location
You receive Reckoning, a Two-Handed Spear, for defeating Titan, the Thunder God, at Windsong Peaks in the northeast corner of Pailune. You can’t fight him there until you unlock the Ancient Barrier quest and reconnect the Ancient Lightning Device.
Reckoning comes socketed with the Lightning God’s Affliction Abyss Gear. Unfortunately, you have to unequip this weapon if you want to use unarmed attacks with the Combat God’s Plate Gloves.
Ring of Lightning Location
You can loot the Ring of Lightning from a Strongbox hidden under a headstone at Whisperleaf Fortress in northwestern Pailune.
To solve the puzzle, press the blocks until they’re all blue. Pressing a block also turns all blocks blue that are in the same column and row as the one you pressed.
To get inside the room with the Strongbox, use Force Palm on the headstone and climb down.
Since it has low stats, we only recommend equipping the Ring of Lightning while it’s raining outside. There are no other Lightning-themed Rings, so just use whatever you prefer.
Necklace of Lightning Location
You can steal the Necklace of Lightning from a puzzle Strongbox in a concealed basement beneath the Eastern Court of Demeniss on the southeastern corner of the Golden Plains.
The entrance to the basement is below the staircase on the eastern side of the manor. It’s partially covered by a curtain.

Lightning God’s Affliction Location
Lightning God’s Affliction comes socketed with Reckoning, the spear you get for defeating Titan, the Thunder God, at Windsong Peaks in the northeast corner of Pailune. You can’t fight him there until you unlock the Ancient Barrier quest and reconnect the Ancient Lightning Device.
Orbs of Lightning
You can purchase Orbs of Lightning from the Back Alley Shop in Pailune City.
The Orbs of Lightning Abyss Gear comes socketed into the Hungering Fang Leather Boots that you get for defeating Ludvig during Chapter VII: Homecoming.
Storm Fang
Storm Fang comes socketed into the Goldbranch Plate Crown that you receive for defeating Sizlek, the Insatiable, during the quest Ruined Chapel at the ruins of the Church of Vellua in southeastern Hernand.
The quest originates at Glenbright Farm and is associated with the Hernandian Parish of Solumen, but there are other requirements to trigger it.
Fullmoon Slash
Fullmoon Slash comes socketed into the Circling Moon, which you can loot from the Eastern Court of Demeniss after defeating the Full Moon Reaper as part of the Lunar Judgment quest.
