All helmets in Crimson Desert with extra unique effects, including their stats, what their effect does, and where to get them.
Many Helms in Crimson Desert come with unique effects. Most of them are only helpful outside of combat, but as of Update 1.06.00, these benefits don’t come with any downsides.
These helms are now fully upgradeable and have the standard single Abyss Gear socket, making them compelling options if you can tolerate their often-eccentric appearances or prefer to hide your helmet.
At the time of publishing the vast majority of these helmets are only wearable by Kliff.

Health Detection Device
Defense: 5 → 18
Daze Immunity
Locked
Detect Life
When equipped, the target’s Health will be visible to you.
A scouting helm integrated with unknown technology. The lenses allow the wearer to see through the target’s state. Displays the Health of nearby targets.
There isn’t any flytext to go along with the health bars, but it’s still nice to get a better sense of how much damage you’re dealing. Keep in mind that some enemies do have Defense.
You can loot the Health Detection Device Helm from a table near the teleporter at Marni’s Laboratorium in Delesyia. You can’t access this area until Chapter XI: Truth and Reality.

Circuit Hijacking Helm
Defense: 5 → 18
Daze Immunity
Locked
Circuit Hijack
Activate the Skill, then hold Guard to aim, then release when a machine enemy is detected to hijack its circuit. This effect has a 10s cooldown.
A helm designed to detect and interfere with the flow of machinery. By unleashing subtle magnetic pulses, it disrupts the internal circuits of mechanical enemies and impairs their judgment.
This item has the purple rarity and gets stored alongside things like the Visione and Add-on Equipment. It is also wearable by Damiane and Oongka.
You can loot the Circuit Hijacking Helm from Clockwork Cabin, north of Fort Warspike in western Hernand, but it’s not useful until you reach Delesyia.

Constellation Helm
Defense: 5 → 18
Daze Immunity
Locked
Stargaze
Reveals Constellations that were previously hidden.
A helm crafted at the Scholastone to research constellations. It allows the wearer to observe the beautiful stars that adorn the night sky. The deeper the darkness and the clearer the sky, the easier it is to find traces of starlight; in open areas with minimal light, one can just barely discern the outlines of hidden constellations.
This item has the purple rarity and gets stored alongside things like the Visione and Add-on Equipment. It is also wearable by Damiane and Oongka and starts the Scholastone Institute Faction Quest “What the Stars left Behind”, which is the only purpose of this headpiece.
You can find the Constellation Helm resting on a rock near the Scholastone Research Institute in western Hernand. Many scholars are marveling around it.

Helm of Knowledge
Defense: 5 → 18
Daze Immunity
Locked
Acquire Knowledge
Activate the Skill to slow time and highlight objects unknown to you, then hold Guard and aim at the target to acquire Knowledge from afar.
Blinding Flash and your Lantern highlight objects unknown to you while the Helm is equipped.
Helm crafted for the in-depth pursuit of knowledge. This tool is designed to decipher knowledge from a distance. When equipped, it allows the wearer to explore unknown knowledge from afar.
This item has the purple rarity and gets stored alongside things like the Visione and Add-on Equipment. It is also wearable by Damiane and Oongka.
The Helm of Knowledge will do its Acquire Knowledge animation when you aim it at anything, but it only does something useful when you point it at something highlighted by little blue particles.
When it works, you will see the little progress bar pop up in the corner as it helps you learn, culminating in a new Knowledge entry.
It’s most useful for identifying paintings you can’t steal and learning about bugs and fish without having to catch them.
You can find the Helm of Knowledge resting on a bench on the second floor of the restricted section at the Scholastone Institute in western Hernand. You cannot access this area of the Institute until Chapter IV: The Price of Knowledge.

Pirate King Hat
Defense: 3 → 16
Locked
Detect Treasure When Equipped
The hat’s feather will glow bright if a treasure chest is nearby.
A hat once worn by the man hailed as the Pirate King. Perhaps the secret to his success lies within this very hat. It is imbued with magic that detects nearby treasure chests.
The effect is fairly subtle, so you’ll have to keep one eye on the feather if you want to benefit from the effect.
You can loot the Pirate King Hat from a treasure chest below deck aboard The Singing Catfish in the Bay of Vellua in southern Hernand.

Miner’s Lantern Hat
Defense: 5 → 18
Locked
Detect Ore
Slows down time and highlights mineable ores in the vicinity. Blinding Flash and your Lantern reveal mineable ores while the hat is equipped.
A hat favored in secret by veteran miners. The special wavelength emitted by the front lamp makes valuable ores shimmer with a brilliant light.
We highly recommend embedding a Blessing of the Earth III Abyss Gear in the empty socket to boost your mining yields.
You receive the Miner’s Lantern Hat from Count Felix as part of the House Felix Faction Quest “Family Concerns” after reclaiming the Southern Quarry from Bleed Bandits in Hernand.

Pororin Petal Hat
Defense: 3 → 10
Movement Speed Lv 1
Chance to Gather Additional Item: 10% → 20%
Locked
Forest’s Breath
Slows down time and highlights gatherable herbs and fruits in the vicinity. Blinding Flash and your Lantern reveal gatherable herbs and fruits while the hat is equipped.
A hat made in Pororin, adorned with beautiful floral decorations that symbolize harmony with nature. It deepens the wearer’s connection with the forest, allowing one to sense the locations of herbs and fruits through the energy carried on the wind.
This item has the purple rarity and gets stored alongside things like the Visione and Add-on Equipment. It is also wearable by Damiane and Oongka and small pet birds will land on the tip top of the hat rather than your shoulders.
We highly recommend embedding a Blessing of Nature III Abyss Gear in the empty socket, so you loot more herbs and fruits while the hat is equipped.
You receive the Pororin Petal Hat from Polan, the Chief of Pororin, for completing the Pororin Forest Guardians Faction Quest “Children of the Woods” which starts and ends in Hernand’s Florindale but will take you all over Pywel.

Deceiver’s Fedora
Defense: 3 → 16
Locked
Gambler’s Sight
Press LT | L2 | S during a game of Duo or Five-Card after a hand has been dealt to reveal each opponent’s hand for the remainder of the round.
A worn felt hat favored by a legendary gambler. The golden monocle attached to the brim is imbued with a secret magic that allows the wearer to see through the surface of things.
There is no risk of NPCs catching you cheat this way, so while it doesn’t guarantee wins, it does minimize losses and risk, allowing you to bet more aggressively and complete the Minigame Challenges more easily.
You can purchase the Deceiver’s Fedora from the Mineral Shop in Tomasso, the main city in the Tashkalp region of the Crimson Desert, after reaching 100 Trust with him.

Demenissian Soldiers’ Brimstone Gas Mask
Defense: 5 → 18
Demenissian Faction Disguise
Locked
Brimstone Immunity
Prevents you from contracting Brimstone poisoning from inhaling Brimstone gas.
A specialized breathing apparatus used by Demenissian soldiers. Its neatly tailored appearance reflects their strict discipline.
Brimstone gas applies a silent DoT if you’re near it. If you put the helmet on before you get too close, you won’t get the DoT and can move safely. It does not cure you of the DoT nor does it protect you from other toxic gasses as depicted in the game’s tutorial clip at the time of publishing.
You can purchase the Demenissian Soldiers’ Brimstone Gas Mask from the Tailor’s Shop at The Laughing Marionette circus outside the capital of Demeniss.

Helm of Ignition
Defense: 5 → 18
Daze Immunity
Locked
Ignite
Ignites all torches and bonfires in the immediate vicinity.
A masterpiece for adventurers who finds even flint a nuisance. It detects and ignites nearby bonfires.
It’s most useful for puzzles where you have to light torches and can’t find the last one, but the range is pretty short, so it’s not super useful. You can find the Helm of Ignition at two places in Pywel.
The first location is in a tent at the camp around Torchlight Beacon in central Hernand.

The second location is in a concealed treasure chest in a small cavern at Gearmelt Confectionery where the river forks to divide Delesyia from Demeniss and the Crimson Desert.

Catfish Plate Helm
Defense: 5 → 18
Daze Immunity
Pirate Disguise
Locked
Remove Heat
Extinguishes all torches and bonfires in the immediate vicinity.
A pirate’s plate helm modeled after the head of a giant catfish. Its shimmering eyes and fin ornaments symbolize the ocean predator that never lets go of its bite.
The name of the effect is misleading. The helmet just has the inverse effect of the Helm of Ignition. Together, they offer the same functionality as Dumbledore’s Deluminator, but there’s no reason to turn off all the lights.
You receive the Catfish Plate Helm for defeating Sir Catfish as part of Vellua Fishermen’s Guild Faction Quest “Beyond the Silent Waves” in the town of Vellua in southern Hernand.

Tech Hat
Defense: 3 → 16
Locked
Fanfare
Launches a red streamer out of the hat on-demand.
An eccentric invention concealing a sophisticated mechanism behind an elegant feather ornament. A special event can be triggered by turning the dial on the front.
You receive the Tech Hat (and Official Knight’s Cloth Cloak) for defeating Keglord Garnier Mk. XXIII at The Laughing Marionette as part of the House Marshell Faction Quest “Midnight Circus” outside the Demenissian capital.

Crude Devil Mask
Defense: 2
Confusion Immunity
Locked
Poison Mist
Release a cloud of Poison Mist that deals damage over time to enemies that inhale it.
A rough, circular mask engraved with geometric patterns. It mimics the Reed Devil’s, though the craftsmanship is far cruder. Hidden inside is a lethal poison gas mechanism—a sinister piece of equipment designed to inflict unexpected agony on foes who dare approach.
There is no Kuku or indestructible version of the Crude Devil Mask, so you can’t upgrade it and need to farm it from the enemies who drop it if you want to wear it.
The Crude Devil Mask dropped by the Reed Devil’s underlings and Goblin Fundamentalists lurking around the Reedfield Graves and the path to Sunset Valley in southwestern Hernand.

Plate Helm of the Shadows
Defense: 2 → 21
Daze Immunity
Fortification I
Glacial Domain
Exhale a cloud of Frost that freezes and deals Ice damage to those exposed to it.
A plate helm once worn by Beloth, the Darksworn. An iron chain veil hangs beneath a faded crown, concealing the face to project a grotesque sense of intimidation. Every breath exhaled through the links instantly turns to frost, while a black chill lingers behind the veil, capable of freezing even the soul. Can be used to create a zone of ice.
This is the best helmet in the game because it offers a powerful Skill on top of being Plate armor without needing to sacrifice the Abyss Gear socket.
You can loot the Plate Helm of the Shadows from a table at Hoenmark Ruins near the Everfrost in western Hernand after defeating Beloth, the Darksworn.

Marni Laser Helm
Defense: 4
Daze Immunity
Laser
Automatically locks onto all enemies in front of you and fires a laser at each target after the helmet has completed charging. The helm can be charged and fired once per minute.
An experimental plate helm designed by the genius Marni. The golden wings on either side accumulate energy to fire a destructive beam forward. However, due to its exceptionally long recharge time, it must be used sparingly for a decisive moment. Can use a beam attack.
You can find the Marni Laser Helm resting on a table at Marni’s Masterium along the southern coast of Delesyia. You can’t access this area until Chapter XI: Truth and Reality.

Kuku Marni Laser Helm
Defense: 2 → 21
Daze Immunity
Laser
Automatically locks onto all enemies in front of you and fires a laser at each target after the helmet has completed charging. The helm can be charged and fired at multiple enemies up to 3 times, with each charge having a 10s cooldown.
A Marni laser helm reinforced with an enhanced kuku pot. This piece fuses Marni’s mechanical genius with the Core of Oblation. It fires a destructive beam wherever the wearer looks, instantly reducing formidable threats to ashes.
You can craft the upgradeable Kuku Marni Laser Helm at Kilnden Workshop using the Marni Laser Helm, a Core of Oblation, a Power Core – Gate of Collapse, 3 Electrical Components, and an Enhanced Kuku Pot.
You receive the Blueprint for the Kuku Marni Laser Helm after purifying the Sanctum of Benediction in eastern Hernand as part of The Witch of Wisdom questline.

Herald of Six O’Clock
Defense: 3 → 16
Locked
Cock-a-doodle-doo!
A rooster pops out and crows loudly each morning at six o’clock.
A deep blue hat adorned with a golden feather. A true adventurer’s essential, this piece rewards the diligent by triggering a special event every morning at 6:00 AM.
You can find the Herald of Six O’Clock sleeping on the job in the unmarked Ruined Fortress in the unlabeled Chittering Forest along the northeastern coast of Delesyia.

The entrance to the Ruined Fortress is inside a crumbling watchtower. There are Stone Worms (mini Abyss Kutums) inside that you’ll need to fend off before you can safely light the torches blocking the way to the hat, I guess unless you bring the Helm of Ignition with you.

Visione(s)
Defense: 2 → 21
Marni Devotee Disguise
Locked
Play Memory Fragment
Allows you to watch any memory you’ve encountered through the Visione.
Detect Memory Fragment
Your Lantern will flash blue when a new memory is viewable nearby. Raising your Lantern or using Blinding Flash and aiming at the materializing memory will automatically unlock and play it for Kliff.
A mysterious device that has been gaining popularity in Delesyia. This helm can read memory fragments, allowing the wearer to glimpse at memories from the past.
You find the Visione at Lioncrest Watchtower in west central Hernand at the beginning of Chapter II: Golden Greed.

After completing all Research Projects at the Delesyian Institute in the City of Delesyia, you unlock an additional Equipment Shop there that sells 4 different versions of the Visione that most Delesyians prefer.
These alternate Versiones do not offer any functional advantages over the original you find in Hernand. They’re purely cosmetic alternatives.

You’re paying an arm and a leg to make “your” head slightly stand out from the rest of the hivemind.
