Learn how to unlock and complete the Constellation Quest Chain in Crimson Desert. Includes all Constellation Locations, the Antiquum the Stonewalker boss, Navigator of the Stars achievement, Sword of Starlight (Rapier) with the Celestial Transference Abyss Gear, and Earthsplitter (Greataxe).
Unlock the Quest and get the Constellation Helmet
To unlock the Constellation Helm, you’ll need to make significant progress with many of the Hernand Faction Quests. Due to story reasons, you’ll be able to make significant progress with these quests after completing Chapter VI.
Research Requirements
After visiting the Scholastone Institute in Chapter IV, you’ll need to meet with the researcher there just south of the Abyss Nexus found there. Research Abyssal Environment Research, Cloudcart Efficiency Enhancement Research, and Cloudcart Altitude Enhancement Research.

Some quests for the House Grace faction deal with Cloudcarts, thus the research will be needed to unlock the Constellation Helmet.
Completing the Faction Quests in Hernand
The most time consuming part of accessing the Constellation Helmet is completing numerous Hernand faction quests. You’ll find these in your Journal → Faction Quests → Hernand.

Not all of these are unlocked at the start, you’ll often have to complete whatever available faction quests there are. If you get stuck, try doing Bounty Hunting for House Celeste and Hernand’s Politics as this can unlock some faction quests.
A good place to start is with liberating Karin Quarry and Fort Perwin for House Roberts. Eventually you’ll reach a chain events by completing quests that are as follows:
- House Roberts 10/10
- House Alfonso 6/6
- House Serkis 10/13
- Goldleaf Merchant 7/7
- House Felix 5/5
- House Celeste: Queen of the Silkspun Citadel
- Hernandian Parish of Solumen
- Vellua Fisherman’s Guild 6/6
- Beggar’s Alliance 4/4
- House Serkis 13/13
- House Grace 5/5
- Kharonso Troll Alliance
Once you reach the Kharonso Troll Alliance arc, the helm is right around the corner. Complete it then start the What the Stars left Behind arc for the Scholastone Institute.
After reading the Constellation Research Journal for Constellation Research and doing the Cloudcart research, you’ll find the Constellation Helm at the steles outside the institute for the quest Troll Studying Steles.

You can equip the Constellation Helmet through the Inventory Menu or by swapping to it on the Armor Radial Menu. To activate it, press B, LT+RT, or L2+R2 on PC, Xbox, and PS5 respectively.
It may not activate when you load a save file while wearing it. If this happens, unequip the helmet and reequip it to have the Stargaze function work normally.
Maps of the Night Challenge: All 13 Locations
There are 13 constellations you’ll need to find to complete the Maps of the Night challenge. You can track this by visiting Journal → Challenges → Maps of the Night: Constellations.

There is no requirement to view these at night, simply equip the Constellation Helm, activate it, and look at the constellations at the right angle to register it.
These constellations can be fickle with how you view them, so keep at it. We have helpful tips for each location in this guide. Viewing all of the Constellations will unlock the Navigator of the Stars achievement.
Sealed Stone Constellation
This is the first constellation you’ll run into during the quest Troll Studying Steles. The scholar will tell you about the Constellation Helm and as you to try it on.

You’ll find this a little bit south of the steles at the Scholastone Institute. Stand on the white flowers where the red X is, face north, and you’ll find the Sealed Stone constellation.

Shield Constellation
The Shield Constellation is found at the Stones of Time in northern Demeniss. It’s a short trip northwest of the Spire of Soaring.

Burn away the large thorns and stand on the north side of the central stones. Face southeast and the constellation will be right above you.

Adventurer Constellation
The Stonemire Ruins in Delesyia will hold the Adventurer Constellation. It’s west of the Museum of Marni and southwest of Marni Park.

Stand west of the central stone of the ruins and face southeast to find the Adventurer Constellation.

Wagon Constellation
There’s a stele location northwest of Calphade and southwest of Vat’nholl Fortress in Pailune. You’ll find a circle of stone spires sticking out of the ground.

Go northwest of the central spire and face northeast to find the Wagon Constellation above you.

Hammer Constellation
You will find the Hammer Constellation a short trip northwest of the Shield Constellation at the Sheltering Rocks in Demeniss.

Go southeast of the ancient stone structure and look southeast towards the spire in the distance for the Hammer Constellation.

Woodland Spirit Owl Constellation
Go to the Swamp of Despair in west Pailune. Lutemir the Mudwalker resides here, so defeat the Abyss Construct before attempting to find the constellation.

On the west end of this swamp arena are some brambles. Stand in them and look southwest. The stars form what looks like a tiny flag when you’re at the right angle.

Ship Constellation
South of Dewhaven in Delesyia, there’s a large stone spire in the ocean. It’s a straight shot going south of the “A” in “Dewhaven”.

To the east of the tall spire is a shorter spire that you’ll need to stand upon. Face east on there to find the Ship Constellation.

Elephant Constellation
Go to Snaketail Wall in Delesyia for this constellation. It’s on a somewhat curvy red rock path that’s similar to a snake’s tail, hence the name. It’s a short walk northeast of the Abyss Nexus in the area.

Go near the southern edge of the “tail” and face southeast to find the Elephant Constellation.

Camel Constellation
Go north of the “B” of the “Forebearer’s” at Forebearer’s Barrens in the Crimson Desert. There’s a circular pit of quicksand in this area, go to the ruins south of it.

At the northern edge of these ruins, face south to find the Camel Constellation. Aim your reticle above the constellation to register it as it’s a bit fickle about it.

Goblin Constellation
You can find the Goblin Constellation near the Upper Nas River in Pailune. It’s on the road southwest of the Spire of Ringing Truth. Here you will find some ancient steles.

Go a little bit south of the southern stele with the hole in it. Face north to find the Goblin Constellation.

Black Dragon Constellation
Go to the pond west of the Spire of Insight in southern Hernand. Go south of the pond where you’ll find a large stone outcrop jutting out of the earth.

There are three small standing rocks on top of this outcrop that form a triangle. Stand between them and look southeast. Place your reticle to the upper right of the constellation to register it.

Giant Constellation
Go southwest of the Great Gate of Urdavah and the Ghadir-jahr Camp in the Crimson Desert to find a red stone megalithic structure.

Go between the east and south structures and look north to find the constellation. Go east of the constellation, face west, then place your reticle to the right of the constellation to register it.

Key Constellation
Go to Horseshoe Lake east of Demeniss City then to south of the “R” in “Horseshoe”. This area sticks out like a sore thumb and will be hard to miss.

There’s some stone ruins in the water, go onto the square platform and look north. Place the reticle to the right of the constellation to register it.

Guardian of the Ancient Ruins
After registering the Shield and Hammer constellations, you’ll start the quest Pillar of Light atop the Mountain. Viewing these constellations has released Antiquum the Stonewalker at the Gate of Truth.

Antiquum has two phases, one where it’s standing as a humanoid construct and another where it’s floating pieces shooting lasers. Use Force Palm to take it down during the first phase, and use Focused Shots during the second phase.
Get some good hits on it while its stunned, then defeat other stone constructs to liberate the area after Antiquum’s defeat. You’ll get the Earthsplitter Axe for Oongka and an Abyss Artifact as a reward.
Where Starlight Converges
After finding all of the Constellations, you’ll get the quest The Maps of the Night Unveiled for the Where Starlight Converges arc. This is part of the Scholastone Institute faction quests.
As Damiane, go to Jijeong Temple Pagoda and a cutscene will play. You’ll then receive the Sword of Starlight as the true reward for your efforts!

Rewards
Here are the tangible rewards you’ll receive during the duration of this challenge. First off being the Constellation Helm itself which looks similar to a diving helm but with a telescope on the face plate.

Stargaze
Reveals Constellations that were previously hidden.
A helm crafted at the Scholastone to research constellations. It allows the wearer to observe the beautiful stars that adorn the night sky. The deeper the darkness and the clearer the sky, the easier it is to find traces of starlight; in open areas with minimal light, one can just barely discern the outlines of hidden constellations.
Your rewards for doing the additional quests are two weapons that Kliff can’t use! Stonewalker Antiquum drops an Abyss Artifact and the Earthsplitter, a Greataxe for Oongka with no notable Abyss Gears, and then you get the Sword of Starlight, which is a Rapier for Damiane.
The Sword of Starlight comes with Celestial Transference, an Abyss Gear that offers Stamina Siphon Lv 2, making it a superior version of Stamina Transference.
Sword of Starlight (Rapier)
Attack: 9 → 27
Attack Speed Lv 2 → 3
Celestial Transferrence
Swift III
Greater Primalbane
A blade forged by the starlight that came to Pywel from the eastern continent long ago. Though the ocean divides Pywel from the eastern continent, people have long looked to the same stars in the night sky to tell their future. The power of constellations is thought to touch the lives and fates of all, yet much like the Abyss, its true nature remains an unknown realm beyond mortal understanding.
Earthsplitter (Greataxe)
Attack: 19 → 44
Critical Rate Lv 1

The greataxe of Antiquum, the Stonewalker. Intricate, mysterious patterns are finely etched into its sharp blade. Legend tells that Antiquum brandished this weapon before becoming a walker; with every swing, the earth trembled and continents split.
