A powerhouse of the Greymanes. Born of an orc tribe, he wields a massive axe with overwhelming skill in battle. Though taciturn and steadfast, he is Kliffts most trusted comrade-in-arms. His favorite pastime is going fishing with Kliff.

History and Lore

Oongka is Kliff’s loyal friend. Oongka is loyal to his people and an incredible fighter. Even though he is a sophisticated “philosopher” type of a character, Oongka still fills the heavy-armor bruiser-fighter archetype perfectly. An educated orc who can fight with heavy weapons? That’s a very unique combination!

How to Unlock Oongka

You will encounter Oongka at the very start of the game, and later, in Chapter VI. You control Oongka for the first time during Chapter VII.

At the end of the quest Twisted Fate, after the cutscene, the questline Words Left by the Riverside will become available.

This is the moment when Oongka becomes regularly available for you to switch to or call as a companion while you play as Kliff.

Class Specification and Skill Tree

Oongka’s playstyle is of a berserker or a brawler. He is relentless and brutal in battle. Always taking the lead, never hesitating.

In series of patches post-launch the developers of Pearl Abyss have been adding and expanding the capabilities of Oongka and Damiane to allow them to solve most of the puzzles, but there are a handful of tricks that still remain only in Kliff‘s arsenal.

Oongka has access to the following weapon types:

One-Handed Weapons

Ranged Weapons

Behind the Scenes

Oongka is voiced by Stewart Scudamore, who played Calgar in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II. In an promo clip released before the game’s launch, Scudamore is interviewed about the character he voices and it he describes Oongka as a “philosophical” character, despite the fact that he is a brute on the battelfield.
