All Items with Unique Effects in Crimson Desert

Kuku-crafted pieces of equipment aren’t the only ones with special or unique effects, and this catalog showcases all items with unique effects baked into them in Crimson Desert.

How Unique Effects Work

Some pieces of equipment have unique special effects baked into them rather than (or in addition to) embedded unique Abyss Gears.

Typically, these special effects are not removable Abyss Gears because they have some sort of visual linked to the weapon itself. For example, the Soul Spear has a little glowing orb in the center of the spearhead to show when the baked in Finisher is ready.

While it wasn’t the case at launch, most pieces of equipment with unique effects are usually fully upgradeable (or has a Kuku version that can) and feature a number of Abyss Gear sockets.

If the unique effect has anything to do with combat, or if the effect is particularly strong, the piece of equipment is usually balanced as to count as an unremovable Abyss Gear, and such pieces have 1-2 fewer Abyss Gear sockets.

Returning to the Soul Spear example, regular two-handed weapons always have 5 Abyss Gear sockets, but because the Soul Spear has its Soul Liberation effect, it only has 4 sockets.

If the unique effect doesn’t have an impact on combat, like the Equestrian-style buffs on the Riding set, they do not count against the standard number of Abyss Gear sockets.

The best equipment in the game breaks these rules and has more Abyss Gear sockets than it should, given its unique effect(s).

Armor Sets

This list is centered around chestpieces and entire sets with unique effects. It does not include Disguises, since every major enemy faction has one of those. The entries here typically provide extra protection of some sort.

Beekeeping

The set provides protection from bees, as its title suggests.

Frostcursed

The Frostcursed Plate set features the Kuku Ice-Resistant Armor – a skeletal plate wrapped in chains and tattered cloth. It is the armor set worn by Skull Knight the Frostwarden.

The Lightning Bolt Plate set features the Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor and is a combination of grey stone and gold metal plates with a centurion helmet and very long staff.

Scorchflame

The Scorchflame Plate set features the Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor – a unique plate dragon embellishments on top of a solid background with ornate dagging coming from the shoulders and frills around the shield, all meant to evoke dragon flames.
